I've added a folder onto the homescreen and added direct message contacts to it, which is exactly what i wanted, better than the HTC People widget for me. How do you rename the folder? Because I'd like to call it texts and set one up for calls. But when I create another folder, it is again called "folder". So you can't differentiate between the two.

There are options to add New Folder, All contacts, etc. After adding a new folder and dragging app shortcuts, I can't seem to figure out how to rename the folders from the default "Folder" name.

The installer downloads components successfully, but at the end of the installation it hangs for about minute and then asks to disable AV software. If I choose 'No', the installer stops with error message like: "Filed to rename directory '...' to '...' ". Thus, I have to unpack downloaded components and place them to proper folders manually. I have no AV software.

Ii haven't made any big changes to my Desire and all was working well. suddenly a couple of days ago i noticed that things slowed down significantly.
exmples: when drawing the unlock screen, there is a big lag till the home screen comes up huge lag in opening programmes or menus
so, the only app i recently installed was the BA (british airways) android app. could this have affected the whole phone?
what steps can i take to check what might be wrong?looking at the SPARE PARTS app, i can see that CPU usage shows a huge bar for "init".i don't know if this is a normal process? anyone got info on this? might have nothing to do with my phone lagging of course.

If I receive an SMS text message when I am away from my phone, most of the message can be read on my home screen by anybody near the phone. Is there anywhere in the settings to prevent this invasion of privacy happening?

View 11 Replies View RelatedOn the Desire home screen I have a clock with what should be the weather info underneath which is the standard home screen.The weather info is blank apart from the name of a nearby village which i believe is where the nearest phone mast is located. (the picture on the box the phone came shows Barcelona with lots of weather info).If I tap on the blank area next to whe name I get the weather screen opening up with the name of the village where the mast is, and the word "current" in brackets next to it and the info is all showing "0" if I update it the message appears "no weather data available".I can chose another location (various pre loaded or choose Manchester UK by searching ) then choosing my desired location which then shows data.When I return to the main desire home screen the village name is back under the clock with no weather info.I guess the HTC is trying to get the weather data for the mast location nearest my phone as a default setting, I dont know how or if I can override this so that I can have my desired location (ie Manchester uk) wether data showing under the clock on the home page permanently.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRight, my problem is that the orange home screen is starting itself up. I'm not selecting it and its not my default one so it shouldn't be being used. Looking at Task manager it looks like it's self launching. How can I prevent this? I wouldn't really bother if it was just this but it launches 9 other apps along with it which are using up my data allowance and battery. It's really annoying and only just started happening out of the blue with out any new apps being installed or changed. Task manager is shutting it down when the screen turns off but it just relaunches itself every time and I'm sick of my battery being eaten.

I would like to run the desire without the sense UI and instead just run the plain android UI for a while, my problem is that when I disable Sense I am just left with the Orange home screen selector! Does anyone know how I turn that off and run the basic android? or am I stuck with these skins?
