HTC Desire :: Need To Get A Connector From Ipod Dock To HTC Mini Usb?
Aug 7, 2010Okay, so i quite fancy getting a speaker dock for my HTC Desire. For 2 functions really, the main one is charging, but also so i can use it to listen to music without my headphones. Now, most the decent docks appear to be geared towards the iPhone/iPod ( have been looking at them in electrical stores today) -and thus, where my HTC phone will sit there is obviously the huge wide iPod/iPhone connector which would fit into the base of the iphone - obviously with the hTC being a mini usb input, it wont fit. So my question is is there a small connector available somewhere that has the female ipod connection at one end and then the male mini usb the other so you can simply slip this on the male sticking out ipod connector at the base of these Speaker/CHarger docks and then put the HTC on top? know a lot of them do have AUX inputs which means yeah, i could connect it and listen through the speakers BUT, id like this to be a charging dock as well. Am i th ONLY person in the world who has a HTC that wants a Speaker/Charger Dock?? surely not?

Sep 6, 2010Is there a way to have a LauncherPro style dock but still using Sense?I like the way LauncherPro has Web/Phone/Text etc icons along the bottom which frees up screen space. Sense only gives 3 of which the '+' button is pointless as it is just the same as a long press. Would rather avoid changing altogether to LP if at all possible.

Sep 2, 2010I have an HTC Evo, recently switched from an iphone. Loaded just a few songs on my Evo to test out the USB to car stereo connection and it works. But I liked the way iphone worked with the stereo better because all the Evo does is show is let me browse through folders like an mp3 CD would. The iphone would let me browse through artists, albums, playlists, genre, etc, etc all from using the controls on my steering wheel. Sooooo, does anybody know of an android app that will make my car stereo browse artists, albums and playlists like it could with iphone. I know its not a big deal but it would be more convenient, probably only advantage my iphone had over Evo.

May 31, 2010Can i use my ipod charger plug, with one of my many spare usb-mini usb cables i have for many gadgets (ie cameras/camcorders), to charge my desire? or is the ipod plug rated to push through a different numbers of amps/volts/currants/electrons/whatever to my desire, ultimately killing it? this will save me and probably a lot of other folk a few quids in buying spare chargers etc, as i am sure we've all got a spare mini-usb cable and an ipod lying around. i am talking about this part, or one of these for car charging.

Jan 8, 2014I've developed a fairly extensive application. The problem began when I started programming...my spinners are the solid gray rectangular style (unlike the newer style with the triangle in the lower right corner). When I started developing this app several months ago, I couldn't figure out why my spinners were different (after many hours) so I just ignored it. I'm at the point now of polishing my program and want the newer spinner style. So, I'm beating my head against the wall again. I went to my Android SDK Mananger in Eclipse and updated my Android SDK Tools, Platform-tools, and Build-tools. I have the lastest versions of all of these (22.3 and 19.0.1). When I create a new project, the newer spinner style appears. However, none of my older projects changed. They still have the same old gray, rectangular type spinners. I tried using a "android format" line command I found while Googling, but no luck with that either.I'm using ADT Bundle with build v22.2.1-833290 on a Mac OSX Mavericks.

Aug 21, 2010Firstly, I love this app! Finally got my Desire looking awesome! One slight problem though, I'm running Defrost 2.9a with Launcher Pro, and have changed the dock icons to custom ones. However, every so often, two of these custom icons revert back to the original ones for no reason?! Anybody had anything similar. The android:text is properly set in my instance, but the borderDrawable is not. I guess this has something to do with namespaces, because inside the styles.xml, the name="mypack:borderDrawable" is not handled by the XML parser's namespace facility, because its inside an attribute value. So "mypack" is in no way connected to "http://some.weird.url.com/seems/not/to/ matter" and adding it via xmlns:mypack... to the stylefile would not help, I guess. In the same file, "android:text" is somehow recognized, even though "android" is AFAIK only a ns-defintion for [url], which is also not declared in that file.
So what is the proper way to set a custom attribute in a style?

HTC Desire :: Need "Calendar Month" Style Date Picker?
Nov 15, 2010One thing annoys me; The date picking facility that seems to be built into the OS is pretty poor. The three scrolling wheels for year, month and date make it slow to use, and also difficult to work out what date to select if you want something that is, say, 1 week away from today (especially if that leads into another month). It would be better to have a "calendar month" style picker, where you can see an entire month in one go, and switch forwards/backwards a month. Does anyone know if it's possible to change this? Perhaps an app can be installed to replace the standard picker?
