HTC Desire :: Vanilla Lock Screen Not - Rooted?
Jun 14, 2010As the title suggests, is there a way to get the vanilla lock screen without rooting? And I dont mean using a 3rd Party App like Lockbot.

Jul 18, 2010Ive done some searching and came up empty. I want to remove vanilla lock screen and re installing the htcsense lock screen. I tried just flashing a custom htcsense lock screen but that didnt work. I cant even figure out where vanilla lock screen is installed.

I am trying to figure out if I am able to install a rotary vanilla lock screen on my phone but without any luck. My hero is rooted but running a stock rom. Sep 27, 2010Look, I know alot of you already know about this, but I had a tough time finding it myself and figured I would help anyone else out if I could.Downloads
1. I followed the link. Files I'm referring to are under "Other stuff:"
2. Downloaded the "JH7 zip file OTA Stock" (which never worked for me as an OTA update) to my SDCARD.
3. Created a nandroid backup.
4. Disabled One Click Lag Fix.
5. Flashed the "JH7 zip file OTA Stock" from recovery menu.
The phone booted up almost stock with the update, has root/superuser but I had to enable non-market apps again, just like the first time I rooted. Also had to setup my accounts again...and apps. Then I downloaded the "Stock Lock Screen" the same way and flashed the zip from recovery menu. I was using the stock Captivate ROM - rooted and using One Click Lag Fix before, now I am using the updated JH7 ROM - rooted with re-applied One Click Lag Fix, and running the "vanilla" lock screen (screenshot below) rather than a glitchy Lockbot alternative. Nov 18, 2010I have an HTC HD2 rooted with android based off the desire. I had a different build on my phone before so still getting used to it. I used to use the pattern lock on my phone and it would be the only screen lock. Now, with the desire build i have two. The standard frown looking sliding bar is there, which i don't like, and after i slide that bar to unlock then my pattern i set comes up and i have to use that to get into my phone. I would much rather just have one and prefer it be the pattern instead on the standard bar.

Oct 28, 2010Is there a way to have a phone lock on the Desire, in the way it is used on "normal" phones? What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). I know the best thing is to have a secured access but I was just wandering if it was possible to do seomething different?

Jan 12, 2014I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (rooted) running os 4.3
I trying to find a way to disable the lockscreen completly so I can use widget locker instead without having to swipe twice every time.
I have tried setting the standard lock screen to none but it still starts with the standard swipe lockscreen - I have also tried alot of different apps (noLock, no lock screen, etc) but none of them are able to disable the lockscreen.
I have also searched for solutions (here and a lot of other sites) but a lot of people suggest its a bug in os 4.3.
Running os 4.3 have succesfully been able to disable the standard lock screen.

Took some time.Problems that I have with it:Every time someone sends you a message, it sends 2. It only notifies you of one, but two show in the thread. I'm trying to fix it.That's it so far, let me know of any you come across and I'll see what I can do.

I am also worried that, over time and regular use, it will stop working. I am looking for a simple application that will do it for me - at least turn it off, I suspect that turning on will be more of a challenge. Sep 16, 2010I've tried googling and searching for applications, but ironically, all I've found is people with the opposite problem - who are lucky enough to be asked for a password, but don't want it? Just got my HTC Desire, it is really amazing, but I HATE the stupid lock screen 'pattern' - I am amazed there doesn't seem to be any actually secure option considering the amount of important data the phone may hold (access to email in 2 clicks from home screen + no password = epic fail), especially as when I had a quick go to see what would happen, the pattern seems to allow unlimited attempts - just have to wait 30 seconds between every 5 .Turning my phone off whenever it has to be unattended is just ridiculous, even though I doubt I'll ever let there be a need to, I still want to make sure things are secure.Is there any way to replace the pattern with a PIN or password? Preferably free but I won't mind paying for an application if it's the only way.

Sep 28, 2010Not sure where to post this but i am gonna do it here and hopefully it is helpfull to someone.Just watched this video over on the dailymobile.se website and some guy goes through how he has customised his nexus with different apps and there is one for diabling the lock screen and using the power button to wake it up without having to swipe to unlock.He uses an app called "No Lock" and i am now using it and it saves me valuable finger swipeing time.How to customize your Android phone with different apps (video)Also there are a load of other customisation he has done but he goes through that aswell and names all his apps etc.

Sep 26, 2010I rooted it last week with the unrevoked 3 method which seemed to go ok then i tried some different roms and some worked some didnt. I tried to install the r8-bravo-desire-modacocustomrom-withadditions-a2sd+-signed...! This rom got stuck on the white start up screen. I thought that if i cleared the sd card it would install but still the same thing then i just got the white htc screen wich i cant get off and i cant load the recovery to change anything...! Have i bricked my phone?
