once installed, this app allows you to change the lock slider to various other options, lets you add widgets from other apps to the lock screen and also lets you add other shortcuts.there are lots of options in the settings menu as well.

My screen all the sudden would not show any widgets or shortcuts.I think it started happening when sliding open the keyboard and the screens rotating.When i would get out of an app each 3 of the screens was just blank with my wallpaper the only thing there and the the menu slider button.

I am googled and searched and all i keep finding is apps that will go onto the lock screen. I am looking to put Beautiful Widgets on the lock screen without having to put an app to edit the lock screen. I swore i read somewhere and seen it on a picture, but I don't know how to do it. Is it a setting that i am missing or a launcher or something. Any help would be great, like i said, I have been looking for a little over 2 weeks and can't find anything but Fly Screen and Lock Widget locker or something. Both of those are great programs, but not what i am looking for.

I find that too often when I'm trying to scroll within a widget the system thinks I am trying to move it. So my question is how can I lock the home screen in the since that widgets can be moved/removed?

What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). I know the best thing is to have a secured access but I was just wandering if it was possible to do seomething different?

I learned that while there doesn't seem to be room for the widget, there is room for the "program" for the same app/function.So now I'm wondering, what is the difference between these three?Will one result in more or less battery drain? Is the widget quicker to launch it's program equivalent?Should I avoid placing one type on the home page?

For widgets I can delete the app If I don't want it anymore, but If i still need it how do i take it off.I added a mail shortcut on the home screen, and I haven't been using it since my e-mails are synced. View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted my Epic 4G following this guide: joeykrim-SDX Permanent Root for Epic (and Verizon Fascinate).I then went ahead and removed some of the "bloatware" applications using this guide here: [GUIDE] How to Remove Pre-Installed Apps for FREE - xda-developers.I did successfully root my phone, and the applications I removed are no longer there, but now the shortcuts that can be placed in the Home (or any section) no longer remain after I shutdown the phone. Widgets and Folders on the other hand do get saved by the phone and remain after a reboot.Is there something that I may have removed that shouldn't have been? and if so is it easy to recover? Would a custom ROM fix this situation? Or is there a program that I can use to restore all the default applications (without un-rooting).

Apex launcher has action shortcuts for this, but they are only 1x1. I cannot use widgets to get these actions... I have to use shortcuts. I have done what I want with 1x1 shortcuts, but they are just too small for my taste. I really want 2x1 shortcuts. I have not been able to figure out how to make them with either Simple Text or Desktop Visualizer.

Also I've noticed that on the pattern lock screen. There is a message that says, "This phone belongs to". How do I personalise this with my name?
Last week I started using LauncherPro Plus - excellent app and everything has been working well. until I installed Beautiful Widgets this morning.
1. Takes a long time to navigate from one menu screen to the next, often with a FC due to timeout.
2. When the widget finally appears on the Homescreen, it can't find my location (yes, I've tried all combinations of geolocation, GPS, town search, etc)
3. Weather will not update and the moon is always showing even though it's midday here.
I was so impressed with the skins for Beautiful Widgets - it's the last thing I need to complete my custom look using LauncherPro, and I'm very disappointed that they don't seem to work together
Possible to lock down shortcuts on the 3 home pages? I seem to always loose them or move them or delete them by accident with my fingers while navigating around.

I am also worried that, over time and regular use, it will stop working. I am looking for a simple application that will do it for me - at least turn it off, I suspect that turning on will be more of a challenge. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've tried googling and searching for applications, but ironically, all I've found is people with the opposite problem - who are lucky enough to be asked for a password, but don't want it? Just got my HTC Desire, it is really amazing, but I HATE the stupid lock screen 'pattern' - I am amazed there doesn't seem to be any actually secure option considering the amount of important data the phone may hold (access to email in 2 clicks from home screen + no password = epic fail), especially as when I had a quick go to see what would happen, the pattern seems to allow unlimited attempts - just have to wait 30 seconds between every 5 .Turning my phone off whenever it has to be unattended is just ridiculous, even though I doubt I'll ever let there be a need to, I still want to make sure things are secure.Is there any way to replace the pattern with a PIN or password? Preferably free but I won't mind paying for an application if it's the only way.
