I just got married and my old e-mail address had my old last name, so I created a new gmail e-mail address reflecting my new last name. Is there a way to use my new e-mail address on my phone as my primary account (I don't mind doing a factory reset or anything) without losing my paid apps. Like is there a way to transfer the paid apps from one e-mail address to the other?

Should she attempt just setting up a Google checkout account on the web first and go from there? Is there another workaround?
I purchased a couple of apps last week, and there wasn't enough on the prepaid debit card I use for online purchases. They said pending. Once the money was there, the status went to purchased, but when I try to download either I get "download failed." The apps are Droid X/2 Overclock and Droid X Recovery Bootstrap. I've tried clearing the market cache, applying the market fix in build.prop. No dice. The phone is rooted, overclocked, and has a slightly modified build.prop (this postdates the download issue).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a group to send out joke texts etc however when i sent the text to the group i have created some go to their mobile number (What i want) and others go to their e-mail address... I have checked all the settings and cannot find a way to select the mobile number. Also some people that get it sent via text also have an e-mail address saved so it's not defaulting to e-mail for all the contact in the group with an e-mail address...
View 3 Replies View RelatedOur company uses a blackberry enterprise server, and they refuse to give me our mail server addresses because they don't want to have to deal with starting a pandemic of people getting away from blackberry, one IT guy told me that if I could figure out how to get it to just sync with outlook, I'd be able to use it. any ideas? I've messed around a lot in outlook and can't find our BBES information anywhere.

When I create an email in the app and "click" in the "to" field and type a letter I get a whole raft of email address suggestions that are not in the contacts. I've looked in my phone contacts and they aren't there. I've looked at Yahoo mail settings and see nothing there. I've gone to the desktop Yahoo mail an tried looking in contacts there and they don't show up. Many of these are addresses of people that I recognize and have probably either sent or received an email from them but certainly never saved them as a contact. I tried long pressing on the suggested address and it highlights it but no options are given. It doesn't happen in my gmail. I've gone to URL...contacts and they don't show up there. I know I should just switch to gmail only but this is an old address that I want to keep active. I have a Moto X with Kitkat. This has followed me from phone to phone.

However, when I send text messages, the message contacts seems to all the e-mail addresses I've previously sent e-mails to.
Is there any way to get rid of that? And why the heck isn't it the same as my contacts?
Instead of the default apps (such as gmail or text messaging), I use k-9 mail and handcent and as such, have gmail set to not receive email, and text messaging to not use notifications. Is there any way to have LP show unread mail or messages with non-standard apps? If so, how?

I am using an activesync account with for my work email which syns calendar/contacts/email. For some reason every email address that i have ever sent an email to shows up as a contact.anyone else seen this or know how to resolve? all of my contacts are in there that i want but there are an additional 500+ "contacts" that are just email addresses that i have sent to through work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI stepped on my first Eris (don't ask) and had to get a replacement through Asurion. Well, I thought when I got my new phone I would be able to redownload all the apps I had purchased but I cant. The Market wants me to pay for them all again. I guess the market tracks you specifially with your phone, not your account. So I called Verizon, of course they were no help. The chick didn't even try to help, I asked her if I could get those apps back and she stalled for a second like she really didnt know but also didnt want to take the time to find out, then she said NOPE. I was like man, that sucks, she said YEP! That was the end of the conversation. Surely there is a way for me to get these apps back without paying for them again? I know they are inexpensive but when you have 10 or so they start to add up! Not to mention I had my first phone for less than a month and hardly got to enjoy the apps I purchased. I've thought about emailing the dev's but dont know if thats a good approach or not.

I have seen this mentioned quite often here in the rooting forums, and was getting curious. A lot of people are stating that they are losing root when updating one of Pete's roms. I have loaded about all of them and haven't noticed I lost anything. I do have to reinstall busybox everytime though.. is this what people are referring to when they say "root"? Or am I missing something that I should probably go back and fix?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to unroot my phone without losing data? i know exactly how to root and get it back to stock, but i realize this deletes all my apps. i know i can just redownload them from the market, but i dont want to go through all the trouble of setting all mynotification settings for like handcent, and locale, and stuff like that. is there update.zip that allows me to go back to nonroote 2.0.1 and have it appear just the way it was before i rooted? (with my apps and all my stuff still on it?)

I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have juicedefender and I enable that at work to shut off my data for 50 minutes out of every hour. I disable the app when I return home so I can always be receiving data.
With that said, I will be texting my girlfriend, shut my screen off and the notification sound does not ring when she sends me a text. The only reason I know she sends me a text is because I will go to Gv on my laptop and see she sent me a msg.
I looked into my battery mode settings and it is setup to shut off data after 15 minutes of inactivity during non peak hours (midnight to 8am) and set to 60 mins or never for peak hours, however my phone was never inactive for that time period.
My question is, what else could be shutting my data on/off if juicedefender is disabled and my battery profile is set up correctly ( i even changed it to performance and i didnt hear the notification, yes the notification vol. is up)
i noticed that on my inc,droid 1,and now the x,doesnt happened all the time but when it does i have to reboot or just let it sit for a while. ive tried task killer, no task killer

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy and my wife's phones both lost a lot of battery life the last 3 days. The only things that I have done to both phones is update from beast 7.4 to beast 7.5 using the update.zip, Flashed to Ta's then back to 7.5 kernel using nadroid (trying to get rid of the stuck at 8oo Mhz while charging), and installed Not Call Log which just sends you back to your home screen instead of the call log after a call ends. We both unplugged around the same time 6 am this morning. She uninstalled not call log on hers for troubleshooting purposes and we went about our day. Got home around 6 tonight and they are both at 30%. With Beast 7.4 I was usually between 50-60 because of bad recption at work. Shes usually around 70-80. Before I get jumped on. We have not changed our usage habits or phone settings at all. We have had these phones since release day so we have a good idea on our phones usual battery life to usage ratio. We have had not 1 issue with either phone at all what so ever up until I updated 7.5, the android flashing between the Kernels and the app install. to bad I did them all in one sitting.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI got a new Droid (new verizon customer) last Friday. Twice now I have lost 3G downsignal only (which effectively means no data connection). To be clear, I still have the 3G signal icon on my phone, and all my apps are uploading data (according to the icon) however no data is being sent back down. I've tried waiting 10 minutes and tried going in and out of airplane mode (3G icon does come back after leaving airplane mode) however I still don't have downstream connection, only upstream.
The only way I have fixed this is to reboot the phone, which sucks. Has anyone had this issue? I'm not sure i'll be able to get a replacement (even with insurance) unless I can reproduce it in front of Verizon reps, so I'm not sure what I should do about it.
If someone has an android.com e-mail address, what does that mean? Can serious app developers get one?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince updating to Froyo on my Droid X, I've noticed my camera's autofocus won't work at all. I first noticed this because the barcode scanner can't read bar codes anymore because they are too blurry. I want to try a factory wipe to see if that fixes it. I just did a factory wipe 2 weeks ago and it erased all of my applications and settings and was a huge pain to reinstall everything. Is there a way to backup these apps, so I can just automatically re-download them after I do the wipe?
