HTC Desire :: Selectively Clear Notifications Individually

Jun 14, 2010

During the day, my Desire may accumulate a number of notifications from Calendar, the Missed Call app, and from other apps. I would like to be able to clear these individually, rather than using the Clear button at the top of the notification screen, which clears all outstanding notifications in bulk. Long clicking a notification to get an option to clear it would be an ideal solution.

Is there a way of doing this, or something similar? Have I missed something obvious?

HTC EVO 4G :: How Do I Clear Voice Mail Notifications?

Nov 23, 2010

This is driving me crazy. How do I clear voice mail notifications? Let me explain what I do. Of course the first thing is listening to the voice mail. Then I delete it. The notification is still there. When I open the notifications area I see voice mail pending. It's the same voice mail that I already listened and deleted. I click the voice mail icon and it tells me there is no voice mail. Then I go to settings, calls, and there is an option to clear voice mail notification, but is grayed. I can't do anything there. The only thing I can do is turn the phone off and back on. That is the only way I can clear the notifications area. There should be a better way. Anyone has the same problem?

Android :: Clear All Notifications Called Implicitly?

Mar 27, 2009

My app has a notification that is supposed to silence itself for a day if you click on "Clear All Notifications". Every day, I see a notification pop up as expected, but after I turn my phone off for a while and then on again, the notification is done. When I check my data, I see that the "silence notification" flag is set, meaning that the service must have received an intent to clear all notifications.

The only time I ever send out that intent is via the deleteIntent (i.e. if Clear All Notifications is clicked), but I've never clicked it myself. Does the OS send that out automatically?

Android : Way To Clear Gmail Notifications When No New Emails?

Jun 2, 2010

SItuation: I'm at work, sitting at my desk when an email arrives in my gmail account. My nexus one buzzes and the trackball glows with a notification. At the same time, my google talk client notifies me that I have a new gmail message, so I figure the phone notification is for that email. I check the email via gmail on my desktop and I now have no new emails, but the notification on my phone remains. Is there anyway to have this notification disappear once I've checked the email anywhere except the android gmail application? I have the same problem with my work email with the email client, too, and it's a little annoying.

Most of the add-on apps I've looked at for group texting are rich with other features I don't care about.

Android :: Can I Selectively Delete Receive Emails Off Of POP Server

Jun 29, 2010

I used to have a BlackBerry. The global setting was to leave email on the POP server. However, when I deleted emai(s) from the BB I was asked if I wanted to also delete it from the POP server. This was handy in that I could selectively delete junk email so that when I got back to my computer I didn't have to bother with them. The Android doesnt seem to have this capability on an email by email basis. You have to set a global setting for the application for all email. Am I missing something or can I actually selectively choose emails to also be deleted from my POP server.

My Configuration: HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon Wireless network. 8GB memory card. Android 2.1 OS. Home computer = iMac running v10.6.3 Snow Leopard. I use Apple Mail, iCal and Address Book on the iMAC. I use a POP3 server for email. I have a Google Gmail account; which I only use as a go-between to sync contacts and calendar between my iMac and Droid I dont really send/receive from Gmail. I link my iMac to Google to sync contacts and calendar events. I link my Google accounts to my Droid to sync my contact and calendar events. I only open up my Apple Mail application on my iMac when Im at the computer, so that I can get incoming email on my Droid. I have accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. I use a Plantronics discovery Bluetooth 925 headset as well as a wired over the head headset with a jack adaptor.

Samsung Moment :: Campus WiFi / Selectively Showing?

Mar 9, 2010

Phone: Rooted Samsung Moment. So I'm literally 6 feet away through one wall from a WiFi hotspot where I work. The campus is set up so that there is an unprotected WiFi access that is used for downloading configuration software. The other signal is protected and can be accessed using a common login. The configuration software is not needed if you know how to setup WiFi.

Here's the problem: the unprotected signal is the only one that the Moment will acknowledge, which is useless because it doesn't provide any internet access. The protected signal does not show up.Except when I use WiFi Analyzer when I can see both signals (which bounce around between 45 dBm and 60 dBm). I've tried to add the internet WiFi signal manually (WPA2) which is supposed to be a trick that works, but that's a no-go.Why can I see the signal on WiFi Analyzer, it be the same signal strength as the other signal, yet I can't see nor add it in the Android WiFi Settings? It's bugging the hell out of me.

HTC Desire :: Where To Get Cache Clear Application?

Apr 27, 2010

We've had our desire's for a few weeks now and was just wondering what the phones performance is like for you guys/gals? you've all put on apps that you want and music and videos etc., has this affected the phone in anyway? Does it still run like it did out of the box or do you experience lag or other faults? Interested what you have to say.

The only gripe that I have is it is sometimes slow to access the market and takes a few seconds to load the page when scrolling down and I've got a stutter when I access an app to read reviews. Other than that it still runs smooth, I've got music, videos, apps, widgets and voice to text on mine and is easily the best phone I've ever had. Has anybody got a cache cleaner app, I can only find one for rooted phones?

HTC Desire :: What Happens When Clear Data For Certain Apps

Oct 18, 2010

I really need to free up some space for future downloads. Before I just go ahead and clear data for random apps there are a few I'm quite sceptical about doing this to in-case it deletes certain things that can take a while to get back to the way it was before, if at all.

*HTC SENSE 2.42MB I don't use sense I use LauncherPro and don't plan on going back to sense in the near future.

*Facebook 2.52MB

*Facebook for HTC Sense 9.08MB <- I don't use this, I only use the above Dloadable app from the market.

*Google Maps 1.48MB

*Contract storage 9.52MB really? HOW? if i was to remove all my contacts and save them to my sim instead would this sort out the issue? I've noticed over time that certain contacts I have like 10 duplicates for, I think this is because I had difficulty getting facebook profile pics as contact pics. Is there away for me to go through every contact and delete these unneeded, useless contacts?

Are the main ones id like to find out about.

The following few apps I'm guessing if I clear this data it will remove certain settings from my phone but I would still like some info on this if possible.

*Settings 14.74MB

*Astro File Manager 96.00KB Manage space? what will that do?

*FolderOrganizer 1.11MB im guessing that will remove folders & icons if i was to clear this data?

HTC Desire :: Can't Clear Keyboard Input On Contacts Screen

Oct 13, 2010

Cannot clear text typed on the Contacts (People) screen 'All' tab.I went to the contacts (People) screen, to the All tab.Without selecting any contact, I held down the Menu button. This brought up the keyboard. I thought this could be another way to search the contacts so I started typing. The Text appeared in a grey box over the keyboard. When I pressed the enter key on the keyboard nothing happened. The backspace key also does *not* erase any of the letters I've entered. When I pressed the keyboard away key, the keyboard disappears but the text in the grey box remains floating over my contacts list. I can tap on contacts underneath it but not interact with the box itself. If I hold down the menu key again, I get the keyboard back and can add more letters to the box but not remove any!If I go to one of the other tabs (Groups, Online directories, Call History) the box is hidden but it returns when I go back to the All tab.
