My desire was a UK Orange branded one. I've rooted it and installed custom firmware so I no longer get the Orange start up logo or their uninstallable bloatware apps.
The only thing left is the Orange logo printed on the rear battery cover. Does anyone have anyway to remove the logo without causing too much damage?
It would be nice to have a completely de-branded phone.

Everytime I plug my Desire into either of my PCs, I get a warning from Norton 360 saying that it (the Desire) is infected with a virus called VBS.Runauto. Having checked the details of this supposed virus, it appears to be in the Google folder. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to "ignore" it or safely remove it without causing problems?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to delete this and just have the samsung logo on startup? i already deleted all the preinstalled ATT crap that comes with the phone with titanium backup (i just deleted them did not even backup will never use them anyway. after i did that phone seems to be better for me. also i did delete that annoying swish sound at startup but it also took away the samsung startup sound and i like that one. why is it that everyphone for att has there logo or some other att crap on it but the damn iPhone is the only phone clean without any att crap on it -_- i switched over from iPhone 4 could not be more happy. also is there a way to remove the att logo on the top of the phone im talking about the logo next to the speaker.

Anyone been using such accessories? Proporta/Iwalk- which would be better in quality.
So I got caught in the rain and the phone died. I tried to turn it on the day after and the touchscreen was completely weird, it acted like I pushed all over the place. I turned it off and put it in rice for 4-5 days. When I turned it on the bottom half of the screen worked for a day, then it stopped working again. I put it in rice for about 10 days, then I used a hairdryer for about 5 hours on low heat.
Now, still only half the touchscreen works. Sometimes it wants to go helicopter view when I'm only using one finger, sometimes the notification bar is activated if I'm playing around in the lower regions and sometimes the screen stops being responsive at all. Thinking I'm the handyman I just ordered a new digitizer, but I have no real idea if that's the problem or not. Can something have corroded inside and caused this, or will a new digitizer most likely fix this?
New digitizer: 40 usd. Insurance: 160 usd. Obviously I want it to be the digitizer
I'm really bugged by the Cherry Mobile Flare logo. It's like this: when our devices (S100, otherwise known as the Karbonn A9+ in India) are still in Android ICS(4.0.4), it's really a breeze to change the boot(splash) logo using the AIO flasher. Anyways, since we updated our devices to JB 4.1.2, I have tried and failed (countless times) in changing the boot logo using AIO (partition table does not exist). The boot logo also appears during off-charging (before the animated battery).So I searched the web and found the link below(which looks promising) and tried but I get the "can't open dev/block/mmcblock0p18" error. It's NOT the boot animation, it's THE boot logo guys.

I have a HTC Desire and it fits nicely inside a flip case, held closed with a magnet. I am no scientist but a good friend of mine, who is a scientist, seems to think that a magnet could damage the phone!
I have heard that they can mess with the internal compas (i didnt even know i had one until yesterday) but what about the motor in the lens, will this be damaged being an electro magnetic motor?
I am most worried about the screen being effected by a magnetic field always being near (even on) it.
Has anyone had any experience of a HTC Desire being messed up with a magnet or can anyone reassure me that the 3 ebay phone case is phone friendly?
I have this stange sim logo on my desire, in the notifications panel, when I pull it down it is just blank. I'm using a 256k sim card and I've tried a 128k and a 32k sim card which don't do it.

I have factory reset, uninstalled everything, still the same. If I clear the cookies, cache, etc, and remove my homepage of google.co.uk, it seems fine. The T-Mobile default homepage works fine if I type a capital A. If I set Google.co.uk, and type a capital A, it force closes.
Hmm....and after a bit of digging....it only seems to do it on Google Mobile sites. Classic Google.com and .co.uk are fine. Google force loses, as does .com/m.
Anyone have the same issue, or know whats causing this?
Does anyone know how to get rid of the green Android logo when you receive a phone call AND you dont have the callers photo saved. I can think of much nicer things to see than the logo, nothing personal but you know what I mean

View 15 Replies View RelatedIn a bit of panic here! I rooted my HTC Desire via unprovoked and installed ROM Manager (bought a license) and downloaded Opendesire from within this application. The ROM downloaded I did a backup and the phone is now in a continuous loop with the "android" logo shimmering across the screen.
I cant seem to get into recovery at all and the only way to power the phone off it to remove the battery! Has anyone got any ideas for me, I have been to the toilet 3 times in 30mins so far

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was planning on flashing a ROM. Basically, I created a partition for Apps2SD and I was unsure if it had created or not. I used Quick System Info, and it said "information unavailable", so I'd assumed it hadn't worked. I think it has worked, as I only have 14.35GB of my 16GB card remaining, and I'm sure I had a lot more than that available, even with the contents I previously had on it. How can I remove the partition to make the SD card "whole again" so I can begin this process again?

However every time I open up the SMS app and try and search for a contact it display each contact about 5 or 6 times. I have checked the people app and I am certian that there no duplicates. The reason why I ask this is because most of the new Froyo ROMS have some sort of functionality lost one way or another.
