I just got the HTC EVO and I have the favorites widget. Well, it asked me to assign a default action to each person such as call, bring up contact info, or email. I accidentally assigned "email" to one of my favorites, and now whenever I press her, it wants to send her an email. How do I change what I set as her default action?
View 12 Replies View Relatedall my contacts are google contacts with several linked to Facebook accounts.When I access my contacts through the People widget, all's good, I only see the google contacts (I've deselected Facebookers in the view menu). However when I access the Messages widget all my contacts are doubled up for some reason. I realise this list is also showing facebook contacts as well as google contacts but even the non-facebook contacts are doubled up.

When you got to People and then to Favorites and long press a contact, the only options are:
- Call Mobile
- Edit Contact
- Delete Contact
- Send contact as vCard
I don't see the "default action" inside the edit contact menu. Those were the steps providing in the ERIS forum and it seemed to work for ERIS users, however, I don't see any such option in the Incredible.
This is a question about the new Swype beta. Everything about the newest versions of Swype Beta are amazing. Being able to change themes, and some function changes, etc... EXCEPT for the back/delete button action. This is the only thing that sucks. Where as you used to be able to HOLD the delete button and delete whole words, you can only delete one letter at a time unless you highlight the word using the swype key which can become aggravating.
My question. How hard would it be to go in and change the action of the delete button? Would it be a simple smali edit or even a simple xml edit.
My new LG G2. It has this shortcut if you long press volume up/down it starts quick memo/camera. But quick memo is useless for me I'd rather love to start a widget (a tasker task). I tryed several app's and xposed framework modules but I can't get a Widget working with the remapping.

I've a form with 2 fields,
after First login, i store the Mail in SharedPreferences and i restore when user start app again,
But how to set focus on Pass Field ? it's not very nice to see that mail is fill but focus is still on mail field. code...
In my HTC Favorite Contacts widget, I can't change the default action (like: SMS, Email, or Call). I only have the option to call.
I'm know that the Euro version had the option to change your default contact method for each favorite contact...Did sprint Disable this option on their hero? Anyone else having this problem? Lemme know if you find a way around it!
I'm using an Eris at the moment, and favorites that were populated by default shows a card and prompts me for the desired action. I realize that selecting the name below the icon allows me to choose different actions, but I have very poor accuracy in trying to tap on just the name, so for contacts that I've added that I'm forced to choose a default action, it's very difficult for me to choose an alternate action.
The instruction manual says to "press and hold" the contact to change the default action, but that selects the entire widget to move or discard.
Does anyone know how to change the default action to prompt me each time I open a specific favorite contact?
I've seen this question for the Hero too, but with no answers. Posted on the HTC forum, but that's looking rather un-promising.
I am customizing native phonebook application as a third party application which can be launched by the same intent as the native application. I have installed that application in my G1 phone. When I have clicked on Contacts icon in launcher menu it a menu pops out and asks me to select which app to lauch i.e., native contacts or my customized contact application. I have selected my application and I have also selected to use this selection as my default choice. After that system never put a pop-up and whenever I clicked on contacts it launches my customized application.
Now my problem is, I do not know how do I change this setting i.e., tell the phone to put the pop-up again so that I can select native app or my app?
Does anyone has any idea?
I was using the facebook app and clicked a youtube video link and decided to make youtube the default app to launch for this specific action. However, I later decided that I want it to launch the link in a browser (so I can read comments) instead of playing instantly after clicking the link.
I tried "Clear defaults" under settings>applications>manage applications but there is no settings for youtube. I tried to clear defaults for facebook and my browser, and tried reinstalling the facebook app but no luck.
Is there anyway i can change my swipe gesture action to compose email when i swipe the dock? someone told me to go to "launch activity", i cant seem to find it.

Anyway, I'm a little confused with regards to the People Widget.
I have it configured on one of my home screens and its linked to my Gmail contacts account. I have set my favourites (grouped as 'Starred in Android')
and synched the favourites to go to that group when you first set it up.
Now, the phone also has 3 duplicate contacts in the list - all of the duplicates look like they've come from Facebook, but I can't get rid of them from the list.
At first I thought that the phone was trying to synch my gmail contacts with my facebook contacts, but then it hasn't done all of my Facebook contacts that match the contacts in my Gmail.
I'm a bit confused as to how they've got in there.
I've tried resysnching Gmail and Facebook, removed the People widget and re-added it, I've checked everything in my Gmail contacts but can't see anything un-toward, I've tried having background data sync enabled and disabled whilst trying to remove these to no avail.
I still can't seem to remove these 3 duplicate entries.
i was wondering if it is possible to get rid of the voicemail from my people widget. i have the single line it has voicemail at the top which means i only have space for 2 other contacts without having to scroll down?

I know the phone holds many more than just this 'default' form of contact you pick when selecting the person, but is there a way to have the People Widget take you to the person's contact page rather than directly to calling them, messaging them or emailing them?

I used it before and it worked fine, i recently wiped my phone and now they arent working.

You can clearly see in the commercial someone clicking on a person from the HTC people widget. However, after they click the person it brings up the person's information, as opposed to performing the default action specified for the contact. From my tinkering with this widget, it seems that you cannot actually perform the action they show in the commercial.

When I use the messaging and people widget the contact pictures don't show but under my contact list it shows the pictures. So im wondering if you guys have any solutions. View 7 Replies View RelatedI removed the People widget. From the main screen, scroll right. Hold down the People widget and remove it. I was getting 10 hours daily off a full charge. Today I got up to 14. Normally I lose 10% per hour. In the morning, I was losing 5%. I was hoping to double my 10 hours and get to 20 but I did make it to 14.
I was also losing 15-20% in the first hour battery drain. After removing the people widget, I only lost 3%! Previously, I tried everything. Turned off GPS, formatted SD card, hard reset, changed from GSM to CDMA, charging while the phone was off/on repeatedly. I have hardware version 003.
I have lost a couple of pictures from the people widget yet the photos have not been deleted from the phone.When I view the relevant contacts in people or receive a text then the relevant photo appears at the side of the contact but not in the widget.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two contacts in there currently and want to get rid of them and start over. Can't figure out any way to do it. I even went into 'manage applications' and found the widget and cleared the cache and data and the dang thing still shows the same two contacts that I want to get rid of. This widget is pretty useless. Can't put in multiple instances of the same contact (like one for cell and one for home), yet you also can't seem to just set it to take you to their contact info when you click on a person - you have to choose a default.
View 15 Replies View RelatedStrange thing has happened since the upgrade. I added the people widget to a screen in the large (9x9) style. The group I choose all have photos for each contact. If I view them in the people group listing, all the photos show next to the name. If I view the individual contacts the photos are there.
But only half the photos show in the widget view - anyone know what's going on? I can't work out what the difference could be between the contacts, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
