I don't have this phone yet, but is it possible to completely turn off the "updates" functionality in the People app? I don't use Facebook or Twitter, so I don't really have a need for that.

Is there anyway to sync photos/updates with people only in your contacts? I dont want to sync my entire facebook friends to phone... and it seems like thats the only way this is a cool feature i dont want to loose!

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Samsung Galaxy Y phone is keep automatically updating apps that I don't want updating. I already know how to turn off auto updates through the play store so I have and it's not doing no difference. It keeps auto updating every few hours and really starting to get on my nervous because I can't download anything because with all this stuff downloading it keeps saying I don't have enough space.
I'm selling the phone and getting a different one that if defiantly NOT an android because it's nothing but a load of rubbish.

I manually deleted the whole set, but I could not find a setting to stop storing this information. Ideas? If I ever lose or have my phone stolen, I don't want months of text messages available...
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe'll this is a deal breaker for me, after being pretty happy with the RUU update and the speed improvement it brought to the stock music player.When using the turn by turn navigation, every time the voice comes in the player puts itself on pause.After the instruction is over it remains paused instead of resuming.Then I have to manually hit play again to resume playback.This is a big deal while driving since I don't want to be fidgeting with my phone every couple seconds.This was not an issue with 2.1 , since as soon as the turn by turn instruction was gone the music would automatically resume.

I'm shocked that I can't find any information at all about this on XDA or here.Does this happen to anyone else who uses Virtuous Rom 3.1? I tried to contact RMK via XDA PM but he hasn't responded yet, sent last night. I would really like a fix for this, Google maps navigation is fantastic.

Are we seeing a standard being set with the HTC phones that the OS support will be lacking? I don't know how often Android will be updated, but I'd hate to buy this phone only to see the OS upgraded in 6-12 months for other Android phones but not the Incredible.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have an app where I want to list all phone numbers and the associated contact name.I see that there is the Contacts.People table for the purpose of getting all phone numbers and that there is a PERSON_ID to allow me to lookup the contact in Contacts.People.Great.Now I see that all the columns I want are already joined to the Contacts.People.Phones table. But that seems lucky in this case.How could I do the equivalent of the above statement in general if the implementer of the content provider hadn't been so nice as to join for me?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have all of my contacts linked to their respective facebook accounts, but the pictures that show up when I go to my People never update with the facebook pictures, they have stayed the same since the day I linked the two regardless of how many times the person has changed their default picture since then. Is there any way for me to change this so the pictures in my People update with facebook? Since they are linked I assume they should be able to do this.

If I use the "People" icon. I only have a fraction of my contacts in the list. What is the difference between the two sets?

I do tech support for a carrier and along with the calls I get daily from frustrated Android users and some of the threads that I read in various forums, it just seems like this isn't a widely known or used option. Personally, before I have someone do a factory reset, I always have them put in in safe mode. Only once has the original issue they called about reoccured while in safe mode, so out a replacement went. Just seems so much easier to do a little self troubleshooting rather than calling up a carrier or ranting on a message board about how bad or faulty a device is. I'd hazard to guess that 95%+ of the issues these devices run into is due to end-user error.
I would search to see if this was already asked... but I don't even know how to word it, or what to call it, so I must just ask.
On my Droid Incredible, if I launch the People app to view my contacts and hold the Menu button while viewing the main contacts list, a keyboard will pop up. Type on the keyboard, and the typed letters appear in a smokey overlay over your contacts... but it doesn't do anything.
Does anyone know what this does? Without rebooting my phone, I cannot get rid of the *banner* I guess you'd call it. I've done this twice-- once on accident (thought the keyboard would allow me to search contacts), and once just now trying to figure it out!
in my "People" list, I have several individuals that have multiple phone numbers - work landline, home landline, work cellphone, personal cellphone, etc. When I tap on such an individual in People, I'm presented with a list that looks like this:
Call home
[home number]
Call mobile
[mobile number]
Send message
[home number]
Send message
[mobile number]
.
.
.
I would like to be able to remove the "Send message" option for all numbers except for their personal cellphone number. It obviously makes no sense to try and send a text message to a landline, and I certainly want to avoid texting to a work cellphone.
Im seeing quite better scores with vanilla based roms which I have switched back and forth from (CM6, Jager, etc); understandable. However my main gripe with all those is that they dont offer the great UI for the HTC camera and a way to integrate Facebook contacts with your address book like the HTC People app. Has anyone found something that works very similiar to it so I can rid myself of sense forever .

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn all honesty the only think keeping me using Sense based roms is the HTC People app which links facebook accounts with contacts. Is anyone aware of another app which replaces that app and does the same thing? How hard is it to pull that app as well and have it function on a vanilla rom for purely personal use as im sure theres some sort of liability involved there legally if distributed.
