Sep 24, 2010I am looking for the size to make a picture for contacts. I have tried shrinking them to non-existant but it still will not give me enough to work with correctly. I know it is smaller then the wallpaper system.

Jul 1, 2010I used my phone with no problem yesterday (made and received calls), then went to sleep and charged my phone overnight. When I woke up this morning, I tried to make a call and just got "this number is not in use", thought it was something to do with that persons number. Tried to call some other numbers and always got the same thing. I asked my brother to call me and it just went straight to voicemail. Then, when I opened "Phone" I noticed that there was something wrong with my last few calls made. Phone numbers here in Iceland are 7 letters, for example 1234567.. but all the recent calls I made looked like 6171234567, that 617 always got added before the number I tried to call and that made it fail. I only see 1234567 when trying to make the call, when I look at the phone while listening to "This number is not in use", I never see that 617 until I've hung up and check the call log. I did try to call +3541234567 though (354 being the Icelandic country code) and that went through fine. But if I don't use it, the 617 gets added. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I thought it might be some setting so automatically add a country/area code before a number or something like that, but didn't find anything in settings.

It did say that the phone would check again at the next scheduled time so I can download it then if need be - but does anyone know how to make the phone check before then?
HTC Desire : BH-905 - Not Able To Make Bluetooth Phone Calls
Jun 14, 2010I have connected the Nokia BH-905 to my Desire both phone audio and media audio. Unfortunately when placing calls the phone does not switch to the headset to make calls. Am I missing an additional setting to switch from the phone's mic and speakers to my the connected bluetooth headset or is this a bug in the software?

Apr 16, 2010I installed VoiceSearch_2.1 and HTC_IME mod successfully. The voice to text works great! However I can't seem to make the Phone Call functionality work. When I long press the search button and use the command "Call <name>" where <name> is someone in my list of contacts (People) e.g. "Call Home" it recognises the words correctly but all it does is bring up a result screen from a Google Web Search. Am I doing something stupid?

Nov 24, 2010My last phone melted and I have to hold my hands up to say I never backed it up or synced it to an external source so when it screwed up I lost a lot of my contacts, not something I want to happen again.
Firstly do I want to save them to my sim or my phone, I would normally guess Sim card but cant they be saved to the SD card ? This would seem to be the best option ? When entering a new contact there is the option to save them to the gmail account that I set up so I could use the android market ? I don?t use gmail as I already have my own domain email accounts that I have had for years and I host through hotmail. As I have the account I am happy to use it as a dumping ground if there is the option of syncing all of my contacts to it ?
Then when I connect to HTC sense it wants to sync my contacts ..... Where is it trying to syc them to? Outlook ? I don?t use outlook but again if it will keep my contacts safe then I can use it for safety. Looking at my contacts there is the option to export to SD card, is this exporting from the sim ? Or from the phone?

Nov 8, 2010My Desire needs to go back for repair and i need to copy my contacts on to my Sim card so i can use the Sim in another phone. i have tried a few apps but they all keep telling me the Sim card is either full or locked (its got no contacts on it. Does anyone know of a free way to do this, i have found a program but it was about �20, don't really want to spend that if i can help it.

Jul 29, 2010My "phone contacts" have simply been wiped out all of a sudden. My Google, SIM and Facebook contacts are there but all 97 of my phone contacts are simply gone! It now shows phone (0). I thought I could sync back from Google but it appears all along they weren't even being synced even though my Google contacts sync was turned on, so I'm still left with nothing.This is one of the most frustrating and ridiculous problems I've ever encountered on any phone. I rely almost entirely on my phone contacts, and I sure as hell do not want to start copying from my SIM all over again because I'd have to filter out so many unused contacts.

Aug 24, 2010I have a new desire. The new Telstra 3G sim mangles the contacts on getting them out of the old Nokia. I can sync the nokia to windows 7 contacts. It would appear that htc sync only looks for the old outlook express windows address book. Is there a fix for this as I can't get the contacts from 1 phone to the other.

May 26, 2010I cannot manage to add and save new contacts on my phone. When I add a new contact and fill in all the info, I hit "save", a message says "contact saved". Right after this the new contact shows in the list of all contacts, but if I go out of the list, go to home or do something else with the phone then go back to the contacts' list, the new contact has gone. I tried several times, and the new contact always disappears even though it was previously saved.

But even I unselect the "SIM" in the People application's view option, the Phone dialer's list (left) still has both SIM contacts and google contacts, they are double. However, I am not able to find the particular forum thread helping me out.I just got my HTC Desire yesterday and managed to get my contacts on my gmail-account (in the internet). So far so good. My contacts are "safe" in my google-mail-account and I was able to export them as cvs.Now, on my HTC Desire they actually show up, if I choose "people" -> "menu and view" -> "Google".In the list of "view" I can also see my SIM Card (which says its empty and that is correct) and "Phone" which is empty as well. Please correct me if I am wrong:From what I think I see my contacts are on my internet googlemail account only and my phone is connecting to the internet to get them.But that is not I would want. I would want my contacts being synced between my phone (which is not necessarily connected to the internet all the time) and my internet google-mail account.Now, is there a way to bring those contacts on my phone (using the on board tools) so I can use them "offline" or am I misunderstanding the menu and the contacts are already "offline" on my phone marked as "Google" contacts?

Apr 9, 2010I wounder if anyone else has had this problem. I had a blown pixel on my Desire so i got a new one form T-Mobile. I had backed up my contacts on the SD card and when I reinstalled them to the phone all the numbers have gone into a US style format, for example the number 01345 456732 has become 013-454-56732.
