I have downloaded a few applications via the Market and the least I can say is that their French is not the native language of the developers. Most of it even looks like automatic google translate.
Would it be possible to keep the phone in French and have some applications into English? This would make their usage much easier.

Does such a thing exist? I have searched the marketplace and have come up with a bunch of stuff, but what is junk and what is good? I want one for a trip I am taking. Needs to be a local app that doesn't need network access to look up the words.

I have downloaded and installed the latest software containing danish language but it doesn't work. Support says they cant help but that there is a way around the problem. So! Anyway, I want to know if there's a way to get back the apps that I had installed on it - will the marketplace recognise it's me and offer me all the ones I had installed, or do I just have to remember which ones I installed (paid and free) and go and find them again? If so, is there a list recorded anywhere in my google account? In hindsight, a kinda nice thing about the apple app store is that you get a receipt for everything you install, so that's kind of useful.

I have been using my old and faithful HTC touch for the past 3 years and just 2 days ago decided to get the HTC Desire. So far i am very pleased with it and getting through the initial adjustment phase very well. I will like to ask a few questions:
First, i have a few useful work documents on my old HTC touch that was opened with tomeraider, are there any free apps that can open them on the HTC desire?
Secondly, i have already added my gmail account to the HTC desire but i would like to also add my main yahoomail account too . This is my most frequently used email account and it contains a zillion emails that i would not want to synchronize to the phone each time . I guess they will just take up valuable space in the phone so is there a way of only allowing new email to enter my phone.
Finally, i have ordered a new 16gb card from ebay, when this comes, can i just directly copy the data from the current 4 gb card to the new card via my PC and everything works fine after that?

I have a GNex. But have my phone in German. Because of this Google Search and Google Now are also in german.
And Google voice no longer talks back to me. Even though I have changed my setting(or so I think) to english. Google Now still defaults to giving me search results for google.de
Is there a way I can keep my phone in german, but have my voice search talk and answer in english?
Ive recently bought a HTC Desire on orange contract and the phone appears to be debranded and unlocked. There is no evidence of orange applications in the menu and my other vodafone sim works with it too! Is there anyway to work out whether this has the generic HTC unbranded rom or not? And does that mean i will get the Froyo update when HTC release it?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI agree about the lack of technical knowledge within Orange; I live in France and have just ordered an HTC Hero. My last HTC (Touch) came with French version of WM. This was understandable and I was happy to use it like that (I had no choice actually) but, when asking about whether I would be able to change the language of Android on the Hero, no one at France Telecoms (they are in the technical side of the bed with Orange France) knew. I will be getting the 'phone in a couple of days and, unless I can change the language, I will be returning it tout de suite.
