I get no kind of error messages just a black screen with a little icon (which I don't remember right now.) Anyone got an idea of what could be wrong?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI travel a lot for my job, constantly staying in hotels. I bring my Xbox with me. Connecting to hotel wifi can be a real pain, especially when you have to "log in" with the hotels username and password. What I mean by this is: The network is an unsecured network, but you have to log in on the browser. This can't be done on an Xbox. Usually I resort to just using my phones hot spot, but its a real drag on my data limit.
is it possible to connect to the hotels wifi on my phone and then rebroadcast that signal to my Xbox?
TLR Is it possible to connect to wifi on my phone and then rebroadcast said wifi signal so that I can connect with my Xbox? I'm not sure what the proper technical term for this would be. Bridge?

I know there are various app's on phones that allow you to share your 3g connection but I have not found anything that I can actually install that will create the same sort of functionality on my tablet, most of the ones I've seen on the play store are simple short cuts giving control over the pre-existing wifi hotspot app.
What I need is the wifi hotspot itself, ie the ability to use my tablet as a router/bridge.
Brand new here. Just got Eris for wife. So far we both like it a lot. Is there currently a way to sync up the sdcard with a smb share over the wifi? I've got openfiler running a samba share and all my windows and linux boxes can connect, but it would be perfect if the phone could sync up. Seems like there would be something in the marketplace, but I could not find anything for free. Also, once the Android 2 update happens, will their be more applications available in the marketplace?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of MP3s on a windows PC shared over wifi LAN.
I want to use a old android device to plug into speakers in another room and access the shared files, search/filter and queue, play songs on the phone.
I know I could run a shoutcast server and just queue up songs on the pc but I would love to be able to use some sort of app that can scan all the shares and create a database that can be easily filtered/searched on the phone.
It seems possible to setup a shared folder but I can't find any directions on it and none of my current shares show on the phone. Does any know how to do this or if it's even possible. I would love to transfer stuff without plugging in the phone.

What good there is , what bad ?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI'm having to move networks from Virgin back to o2.
I'll be returning the Virgin Desire and just received the o2 Desire today.
Setting it up went well, accounts added etc. but I'm having trouble with the WiFi - I can't disable it, every time I do it switches itself back on - I'm assuming that's something to do with the o2 firmware and it wouldn't be a big deal if the WiFi worked properly
I set it to install all my apps, but wouldn't over Wifi, only over 3G, I can't browse the internet or check for software updates in settings... I've got 2 email accounts set up - Gmail & Exchange (just as I did on the other handset), and it's just told me it can't sync to the Exchange server now though it seems to have been fine so far...
Yet I've just sent myself a test email over WiFi successfully - it appeared straight away in the webmail and then back on the handset, so some part of it's working...
I am just wondering if anyone would like to share pics of how you have you 7 screens setup.

When someone calls me from that land line, caller ID always shows that it's my sister's boyfriend calling me, when 90% of the time it'll be my sister. Is there any way to change the default caller (in terms of caller ID) for a particular land line when a land line is shared among contacts?

When I got the Desire, I can never seem to get this to work still. Orange has terrible signal in my area although there site says its amazing. I never have network in my own home. and Im not sure I have ever saw full bars on my Desire.
So my question is, does yours work 24/7 if you have it. Does anyone else get the sim not registered thing after a reboot and how can I actually set it up properly cause I may be doing it wrong. p.s I have roaming n etc on
When in HTC Sync, on the music tab, i've added a folder to be synced, but when i try sync it, it's not doing it an all it wants to do is see ms outlook. so how do i get this music onto my phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI decided to try the WiFi hotspot available through 2.2. GREAT! Actually worked quite a bit better than I thought it would. Only trouble is, ... now I'm back at home, it fails to connect to the home network.
+ Restarting phone
+ Re-entering password
+ Forgetting network + refinding
WiFi sees the network, says "Connecting", comes up "Failed to connect", "Scanning" and loops on that sequence. I know the router's working because this laptop is using it right now

How can I stream the music from my phone to my NAS Synology ?
My TV is compatible with DLNA and like an bluetooth receiver I want to stream the sound of my android phone to my home cinema.
IMediaShare is fine but I can't play spotify/soundclound music from my phone to my home cinema. :|
BubbleUPnP with the BubbleUPnP server maybe ?
How do I do this? My phone has not enough space so I'd like to stream music from my pc to my note 2 via WiFi
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo Google Music App can stream to Bluetooth perfectly fine but not DLNA or over WiFi. Seems like it should be able to stream DLNA or WiFi if it can handle Bluetooth. Any technical reason why it cannot? I have only been able to get it to play over Bluetooth, Headphones or connect directly to Media device but not DLNA or WiFi the most ideal connections. With the infamous Nexus Q I believe it could connect and stream via WiFi but that is the only instance I am aware of. So outside of buying a discontinued Nexus Q our all powerful devices are crippled? Any app to accomplish this. 20,000 songs on my Google Music account and I you limit how I can play my music.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if it's just me experienced this wired situation. I got TP-Link 108M wireless router at home and all my 4 PCs and 1 wireless cam connected to the router with no issues for 1.5 years. But ever since I brought in my HTC-Desire last week, I experienced dropped connections almost everyday. If I switch the Desire off, then every thing gets to normal. Have you experienced same? Is this something I can overcome by set some settings?
