I'm a new user of Desire. I was happy to receive the phone but there is something I can not do I want to access my Exchange server with Active Sync, but I have apparently to import a certificate from my IT service on the device. The certificates are .cer or .p7b Is there a way to import those certificates on the Desire?

I connect my DHD to the Exchange 2007 at works and it works great for the most parts, but weekly my contacts fail to synchronize. Mail and Calendar works fine, but when syncing contacts it says it can't connect to server. I then have to remove my account and set it up for scratch again. Then it works fine for a weeks or so. Anyone else with the same problem?

I cannot get it to work though I am using all the settings that our IT department has given me. The setup keeps saying, check your Exchange account settings. I am not even able to connect to the mail server. I am using Wi-Fi and I have a network connection so there is no problem with that part. Can I get a trace or similar that shows if there is the credentials that are not working or what is the causing the problem?

Also does the Desire support full exchange active sync policies? I read somewhere where HTC has put all the necessary security policies in place versus the N1 that does not support.

For some reason, I keep getting an Exchange sync error for Contacts only. Mail and Calendar work fine, but I do not see Notes and Tasks. I have not yet tried syncing usb with my computer (basically because I'm scared to try). I'm hoping someone will take pity on the newbie and help me out.

Now, i have it set to check "Every 10 minutes" and my battery is at 60% after 7 hours of heavy use!! Incredible! I am using Exchange 2003 (hosted provider) and I've NEVER had a device do this. The devices always seem to last longer with "as items arrive" set - since it isn't syncing regardless every 10 minutes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having a calendar problem Microsoft Exchange/Active Sync. Calendar items I enter in my Incredible show up on Outlook. Initially, my Outlook calendar items also showed up on my Incredible but those calendar items have now disappeared after about three days and any new calendar items entered in Outlook do not appear. Email works fine and contacts entered in either Outlook or the Incredible sync without a problem.

I have Activesync working fine, able to receive and send emails, have all of my contacts and calendar items. Works flawlessly, other than the Company Directory. When I search for someone in the Global Address List using the Online Directories and then Company Directory I get the person, their email, Company and Title but no phone numbers. I have used a couple of iPhones and they return all the info and accessing the OMA page and searching returns all the info. Any thoughts? I looked at the logs on the OMA sever (also our OWA server) and show no errors in the Event viewer or the IIS logs and VZW was completely useless.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI got an incredible yesterday.Been trying to get Exchange active sync to work.The problem is that no matter what option I choose in Schedule (as items arrive, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc...), the phone always defaults back to Manual.Nothing I do will make the change stick.I've tried a battery pull, deleting the account multiple times and re-adding it.I even installed the trial version of touchdown to make sure push email was set up correctly on the server and it works perfectly in touchdown.Any thoughts?I've done about everything I can think of.I don't want to buy touchdown because this should work for free.

I have the D Inc and have a question. Is there anyone to create filters in Active Sync Exchange that filters out emails so they don't hit your Inc. I have a rule setup in Outlook that automatically sends an email sent by a specific email address to go directly to my deleted items in my Personal Folders in Outlook 2007. The reason why i ask is because on my BB Storm, I setup a filter that blocked these emails from going to my BB In box. I also remember on my Moto Q with Win Mobile I always also able to setup a filter as well. I work at a help desk with a ticket tracking system, the system sends an email for every ticket opened by the help desk to all help desk employees, so my in box can fill up quite quickly. I did notice that if I have Outlook opened up on my desktop these emails do not show up on my D Inc, but when I close Outlook (Like I did last night before I went home), they are showing up today on my Inc.

The question I have is whats the difference between active exchange sync and just setting up outlook like you would set up yahoo, gmail ect... Sorry if this is a dumb question but I just never had to use exchange before so im very unfamiliar with it. What I have been doing is just syncing my phone via usb with my home outlook.

I know iPhone does and the Palm Pre does after WebOS v1.1. I'm very interested in the HTC Hero but need to be able to connect to my corporate exchange server. It's a large company so I cannot have my device added to an exception list or anything.

I'm asking because I'm going to an employer who said they only support Exchange corporate email on Blackberry or iPhone. I just purchased a Samsung Epic Android phone under Sprint. As far as I now there is no Enterprise email plan for that phone. But it does run ActiveSync. Why would an employer limit the devices allowed to access email and can they really enforce that? Is the limitation usually a function of what devices can run Active Sync? Also, if they do allow my Android, what beyond entering the the user, pw and exchange server do they need to do on my phone? Can they put a policy on my personal phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a look around the forums but I'm struggling to find out how to change the colour of my active exchange calendar. I use Jorte on top of the stock calendar but it doesn't let me change the font colour as this is decided by the stock one.
My synced google calendars all appear in their relevant colours and if I change them online they will update accordingly. However everytime I create the active exchange its always orange and its not the easiest colour to read.
I did a search but cant seem to find an answer. I finally got my work email set up through active sync. Is there a way to get the calendar events to show up on my google calendar? I use calendar pro which I love. I don't know if there is a work around or I am just not knowledgable enough to understand it. A for instance would be that my work email gives me an event or invite...it will show up on the phones calendar but not on my google calendar/events. (my google notification each morning may say "no events scheduled for the day" but phone calendar/calendar pro will show it)

Dont know why it didnt work when it said it was syncing before. maybe it didnt like the number of contacts involved and only wanted to do it on its own 3 hours after i asked. I am unable to get all my gmail contacts onto my desire. I have a gmail account setup on the phone, syncing is set to automatic and the gmail account has all options ticked for syncing. Even after i run a manual sync it does not retrieve all my gmail contacts (people is completely empty, and 'view' is set to only show gmail contacts)I know its possible because i had them on there before. I removed them from the phone as there were lots of duplicates after merging with my phones contacts. These duplicates all got sent up to gmail and so i removed everything from the phone in order to tidy it all up on gmail with the intention of then re-importing them from gmail. But it will not get anythying from gmail now.

I run a small business server (2003) with exchange 2003 integrated. By default, when installing, my exchange server is assigned a ".local" extention. Installation errors out all over the place if you try to use a ".com or net" etc. so even though I can add a public email domain to exchange ie: "mydomain.net", exchange still presents a certificate with the ".local" extension. Android dosen't give me an error log to confirm my suspicions; however when installing "roadsync" I get an un-trusted certificate warning AND the option to accept it. (similar with "Touchdown")
I have a Small Business 2008 Server at home with Exchange 2007 tied to my RoadRunner account. Setting up my new EVO to use Exchange a month ago was a breeze and I haven't had any problems with it until this morning.
When I turned my phone on, I kept getting a trusted certificate error over and over. I am using a self-signed certificate on my server -- which I thought would give me a problem when I initially configured it, but it didn't. I was expecting to have to install the certificate manually.
After a few minutes, the message went away and I started receiving mail again. I haven't done anything major on the phone that might cause that, like installing an update.
I'm trying to set up the exchange sync to sync my work email to my Desire.I go through the setup and fill in the details as required but when I go to finish the setup I always get a message saying 'Failed to create the account. Please try again later'. I've tried lots of times but always get the same message. I've tried varying the information I've put in to see if that helps but no joy.Has anyone else had this problem?

I've got my emails working fine on the gmail app, but for some reason when I try to sync gmail with ActiveSync exchange I keep getting 'authentication error'. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to resolve it? Also, anyone who's got it working could you let me know your settings? I think I'm using the correct ones but might as well check.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Desire with Android 2.1. I sync it with exchange, but it tells me I have to have a "phone unlock code" to sync with exchange. This more or less ruins the phone for me, as I have to type a password EVERY single time the screen locks (or go to standby). Only way I can see around it is forwarding all my exchange mail + syncing all my exchange contacts and my exchange calendar with g-mail, but that is a rather poor solution I think : I have g-mail sync running as well, and that does not require me to have a "unlock password" Does anyone know a way to get around this annoying "you must have an unlock code to sync with exchange" issue?

I am getting an alert for mail arriving in my 'Inbox' but not my subfolders. I can manually access my subfolders and see the mail but I am not alerted with mail arriving to my subfolders.
