HTC Desire :: Unable To Change System Fonts
Oct 1, 2010I'm having trouble changing my system font.I am rooted with unrevoked3, hboot 0.80 android 2.1, looked at a number of ways to flash fonts to my desire and each time I've ended up in a bootloop.Please does anyone have a definitive, simple guide for doing this? I would just like a slicker font as my system font.Also is there a rooted 2.2 rom worth using yet? and where do i get it?

Jun 20, 2010Right i dont want to hijack the 'show us your screens' thread so thought i'd start this one.I am really keen to pimp up my phone and keep changing it like most of you,but the one thing i am unsure about is changing my icons.My main screen has handcent,people,facebook,market etc and i would really like to change the stock icons but am not sure how.What apps do i need etc and then how do i do it?.Some of the screens in that thread look cool and i want.

A lot of people on here completely re design their folder icons using the icon packs. However, can you do this without having to root your phone?
I just don't want to be rooting my phone and would love to make it even more personal.

Jul 21, 2010Im trying to change the icons on my homescreen but I cant seem to get them to change, ive got the icons i want ([ICON_PACK] The DROID Collection_v1.0 - xda-developers) saved to the root of my SD card, Ive tried to use FolderOrganiser and BetterCut but i cant seem to get them to change on the homescreen, maybe im doing it wrong?

Jun 30, 2010I have tried using Better Cut and Folder Organiser in order to change the icons on my HTC Desire. However, when I try and do this for Messaging, Email or People application, it always reverts back to the standard HTC icon.
How have other people got round this? Or is this just a problem I am experiencing? I am un-rooted.

Sep 7, 2010Ok, just trying to set up the screens on my new desire and just put a direct ring and direct text widget on it, however i can't seem to change the name/icon of either.
As they both of them look the same i want to change them into "ringname" and "txtname" but can't seem to figure out how. And is it possible to change the widget picture as well ?

Nov 25, 2010I notice that the home screen is customizable but not the four applications on the bottom, the call, email, browser and applications. How would I change those icons with different icons? Mainly the email and browser. How do I turn off or at least severly limit the data that goes to and from my phone. I do not have wireless and am just a bit paranoid about going over my data limit. I got the phone from work and this is my first smartphone so I am a bit nervous about anything I do on it.

Mar 9, 2013I used the search button, my question is: I want to change the fonts on my xperia arc s. but not just with a third party app, that only half of the fonts are replaced, i want it so that every single letter in every app is changed. for example i have (as i said the arc s) and my girlfriend has the sgs2. when i compare my letters with hers in whatsapp, i have the same font as her (because of a third party app), but the name of the person i'm writing with is still the stock font. on sgs2 the font from the text and the contacts name are both the same.

Oct 22, 2011I'm try to change font of A50 by Fonts Changer. But mistake by rebooting it can't not finish to start up.
By it still showing word "Garmin Asus" and logo android.
- I'm try to wipe userdata. but it still show word "wipe userdata" + "Garmin Asus" + Logo adroid and it not restart like normal.
- I'm not install bussy box or ROM manager or fastboot into it. So i'm can't connect it by ADB too.

Aug 9, 2010How to change the fonts on your rooted Droid Eris. I'm not sure if this works for all Android phones, so backup your phone before proceeding. This DOES change key Android files, so be careful. If you brick your phone, it's not my fault.
First of all, go to this website and find a font you like:
1001 Free Fonts - Download Free Fonts for Windows and Macintosh
The file you download should be a .zip, and when unzipped be in the format .TTF. Copy the .TTF file to your SD card. I suggest SDCard/Fonts/. After finding a nice font, download Type Fresh from the Market (free). Also, pick up AndExplorer (free) while you're there. Type Fresh will allow you to change your fonts, and Andexplorer is used as a handy file explorer.
Run Type Fresh, and it will display all the system fonts that Android uses. Touch DroidSans, and it will display a window using AndExplorer. At this point it should request superuser permissions; allow it. Find the folder with your fonts, select a font, and press okay. Press menu and select apply fonts. Allow it to reboot your phone when it asks, and afterwards you should have a nice new font to make your Eris even sexier.

Dec 26, 2009This is my first post. I've had a Moto Droid since day one, and I just love it. It is without a doubt better than any phone that I've had over the years, and that includes the iPhone, BB, etc. However, there are 2 things that I don't understand - Font size and a spell checker. It is impossible to read the small font size in emails or text messages. 1. Why has there not been an app to either change the font size or be able to zoom in? Picasy has incorporated multi-touch for zooming, so I've to assume that its doable! Why not have the same in an email client. 2. Why is there not an email client out there that allows for spell checking? There are many such apps for the BB! I am a terrible speller. I am not complaining, I just want to understand the limitations from a developers prospective, as I am sure these issues will eventually be addressed.
