Having now got used to Android I'm wanting to mess about with my Desire and get it looking really personal.
A lot of people on here completely re design their folder icons using the icon packs. However, can you do this without having to root your phone?
I just don't want to be rooting my phone and would love to make it even more personal.

On one of my screens I have a number of folders I have created to organize aps - music, going out, image etc is there any way I can change the stock folder icon for one that has connection to the choice of app - ie can i personalize the new folder icons without having to root?
View 3 Replies View RelatedRight i dont want to hijack the 'show us your screens' thread so thought i'd start this one.I am really keen to pimp up my phone and keep changing it like most of you,but the one thing i am unsure about is changing my icons.My main screen has handcent,people,facebook,market etc and i would really like to change the stock icons but am not sure how.What apps do i need etc and then how do i do it?.Some of the screens in that thread look cool and i want.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have tried using Better Cut and Folder Organiser in order to change the icons on my HTC Desire. However, when I try and do this for Messaging, Email or People application, it always reverts back to the standard HTC icon.
How have other people got round this? Or is this just a problem I am experiencing? I am un-rooted.
Ok, just trying to set up the screens on my new desire and just put a direct ring and direct text widget on it, however i can't seem to change the name/icon of either.
As they both of them look the same i want to change them into "ringname" and "txtname" but can't seem to figure out how. And is it possible to change the widget picture as well ?
Is there a way to change the HTC Icons like camera, photos to the stock Android Icons?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI notice that the home screen is customizable but not the four applications on the bottom, the call, email, browser and applications. How would I change those icons with different icons? Mainly the email and browser. How do I turn off or at least severly limit the data that goes to and from my phone. I do not have wireless and am just a bit paranoid about going over my data limit. I got the phone from work and this is my first smartphone so I am a bit nervous about anything I do on it.

View 3 Replies View Relatedfrom my "root" folder i create. the only app that stays on the folder is astro (which does not require root). even if not on a folder, my root apps disappear from any of my home screens. no problems w/ them in the app drawer. running bb v.0.3 but had this problem since bb 0.1.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFinally rooted my 2.2 leaked X. After going through the phone and renaming apps I wanted removed, certain ones are still there. Block Buster, News/weather and Social networking. I've cleaned the cache with cache cleaner and even done a battery pull. No go. I've even tried renaming them back to stock(apk)then back to bak.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have launcher pro on my evo and when i change my icons to the custom icons i put on the phone after a little bit they all go back to the original grey icons except for my email one. Does anyone know whats going on here? Also i cannot change the way the normal icons look. No matter how long i hold down the icon the only thing that hapens is it gives me the option to put it in the trash can.

is there no easier way to do this than pull the apps from the phone, changing the icon.png and push it back to phone? i dont want to use any launcher!!
do i have to decompile/compile.? or is enough just to open the .apk with 7z and change the .png
First: I have to edit the SystemUI.apk or the Framework-res.apk? (because in systemui i dont have battery icons, but yes wifi and etc); And in framework-res i have all the statusbar icons.
Second: I have to edit the .png images with patch 9.png or something?
Third: All the images to replace have to be exactly the same size of pixel? or 2 or 3 pixel more high or width doesnt matters?
i have a custon rom on my phone, and the custom icons are not good for me, but the rest of the rom are GREAT., how i get the stock icons? just delete the modded apk and build in the original or what i have to do? i want use a tool like desktop visualizer because i will change the icons in drawer too. and i will use the stock launcher.

I was wondering if anyone with knowledge of panda home could help me out with switching application icons on the home screen. I try to change it through the standard methods and I'm using a .png file, which I thought was the required filetype, but I get a message that says "applying..." but nothing happens. I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas. I've heard of an app called bettercut, but it seems silly to pay for an app when in theory, I already have the needed feature installed. Also, if anyone knows of where one could find a good picture for a messaging icon (to replace hand set)
