HTC Desire :: Good Online Games For Phones
Jun 29, 2010I was just wondering if there are any good online games for these kind of phones?I have tried some of the "mmorpg" ones in the market but cant really get into them.

HTC Desire :: Any Other Good Phones Coming Out In UK?
Jul 1, 2010I had an HTC Desire (actually I had 4) before I got a refund due to a whole host of technical problems. Given that the problems I encountered don't seem to be widespread (mostly concerning the vibrate mechanism failing), I am thinking I may have just got caught up in a bad batch and am considering trying again.I tried other phones but nothing really compares to the Desire at the moment. The iPhone 4 looks nicer, but the OS bores me to death and it seems there are far more technical problems with the iPhone than the Desire at the moment.I have looked around for other upcoming phones and, aside from the Evo 4g which is not in the UK, I can see no other alternatives to the desire. Am I missing any other options?I don't consider the Galaxy S an alternative as it looks and feels like a cheap plastic toy.

Aug 11, 2010Don't get me wrong, I didn't get a desire for gaming (i think we have got a long way to go before Android is a viable gaming platform), but I am sometimes surprised by the Desire's inability to run some games properly. Snapdragon processors seem very good at number crunching, but struggle with graphics. Look at the Quake 2 comparison of the Galaxy S and the Desire. of course, the Galaxy S is going to win, but I was surprised just how bad the Desire game out. can't have been more than 3-5 frames per second. I have seen this in other areas to, like the recent Sims 3 conversion for Snapdragon processors. Again, once things get a bit busy on the screen, the snapdragon simply starts to drop a ton of frames. So, are we seeing devs not optimising games for snapdragon processors? Or are snapdragons simply no good for games? That said, raging thunder 2 runs quite well. Like I said, this is more out of interest than anything else. Really like the Desire and never intended to do much 3d gaming on it, but some early results have been a little disappointing.

May 28, 2010I'm looking for any Android games that I can play on my Evo (1 more week !) online with other random players. I tried searching appbrain, but I had a hard time finding any good ones. My GF has a scrabble-like game on her iPhone that sets her up with random players and its pretty fun. Anything of the sort ? (not necessarily scrabble, any online game would be great).

I was wondering what some good free games were. Im just looking for some fun games to kill time with and to play around with when Im bored. Nov 7, 2010I was just curious which Gameloft titles people own or have tried, and what their take on them is. I'd also like to know what devices you are running them on (although I guess your pot would indicate that under your name...) and what problems, if any, that you have encountered (bugs, force closes, etc.). I have the bought Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. and Dungeon Hunter, and here are my thoughts on them. Plane graphics are awesome, and the game play is pretty cool. Basically just a scaled down version of the PC/Console game. 13 missions give you a fair amount of gameplay and you can fly over 20 different planes and upgrade their weapon loads which is pretty cool. Gameloft LIVE and the achievement system make the game fun to play time and time again. I also like using the Accelerometer with this game too, and it works like a charm. I have not run into any bugs or anything of the sort with this game.Graphically the best RPG on the market (at least until Pocket Legends comes out, but even with that the two different styles will make them unique). Quite a few quests to do, hundreds of armor upgrades and ways to customize your characters. Gameplay is pretty smooth as well. The storyline and conversations get kind of cheesy at times, but overall a decent game. I encountered one part of the game causing a force close every time. At the end you defeat the last boss and there is a portal you are supposed to take after. This portal alone causes force closures every single time. Anyone have any of the other titles? How is the online multiplayer for those that have it (such as Modern Combat and NOVA)?

Sep 29, 2010I'm curious how good, or bad, the "certified like new" phones are. Long story, but I had one, when my first DX crashed only a few days after having it. The "like new" phone had sporadic issues as well as the having loose plug-ins. I demanded (and got) a NEW replacement, which worked flawlessly until 2.2, and now I am having significant problems again. VZW said they would ship a new replacement phone since my NEW phone was only 3 weeks old when 2.2 hit. I found out yesterday it is yet another "certified like new" ("CLN") phone. I did not have good luck with the prior one. So, if you have experience with a CLN phone, what is your experience? Good? Bad? ANY glitches with it? I'm also wondering if I should wait on the fix that Motorola "says" is coming but who knows when that will be?
