I'm looking for any Android games that I can play on my Evo (1 more week !) online with other random players. I tried searching appbrain, but I had a hard time finding any good ones. My GF has a scrabble-like game on her iPhone that sets her up with random players and its pretty fun. Anything of the sort ? (not necessarily scrabble, any online game would be great).

I been having a poke around the market but haven't found anything to my taste or at least has free demos available. Can anyone recommend any turn based strategy games for Android? I'm on a Desire so preferably ones that don't require trackball or keyboard! I'm thinking of games like Advance Wars, Final Fantasy Tactics, UFO: Enemy Unknown, Lazer Squad type thing. Anything that involves a good bit of turn based combat and some form of levelling up.

I was just curious which Gameloft titles people own or have tried, and what their take on them is. I'd also like to know what devices you are running them on (although I guess your pot would indicate that under your name...) and what problems, if any, that you have encountered (bugs, force closes, etc.). I have the bought Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. and Dungeon Hunter, and here are my thoughts on them. Plane graphics are awesome, and the game play is pretty cool. Basically just a scaled down version of the PC/Console game. 13 missions give you a fair amount of gameplay and you can fly over 20 different planes and upgrade their weapon loads which is pretty cool. Gameloft LIVE and the achievement system make the game fun to play time and time again. I also like using the Accelerometer with this game too, and it works like a charm. I have not run into any bugs or anything of the sort with this game.Graphically the best RPG on the market (at least until Pocket Legends comes out, but even with that the two different styles will make them unique). Quite a few quests to do, hundreds of armor upgrades and ways to customize your characters. Gameplay is pretty smooth as well. The storyline and conversations get kind of cheesy at times, but overall a decent game. I encountered one part of the game causing a force close every time. At the end you defeat the last boss and there is a portal you are supposed to take after. This portal alone causes force closures every single time. Anyone have any of the other titles? How is the online multiplayer for those that have it (such as Modern Combat and NOVA)?

Seriously, emulation is not good for performance, but most roms running on gensoid look and play better that games developed for Android. Sonic 3 looks lovely, runs at 60fps and never stutters. It even seems to look higher rez than most Android apps.Android platformer games are nowhere near as good looking or smooth. So what the hell is going on? The hardware on top end Android phones (Desire, galaxy etc) is clearly capable.

I've read the whole thread on RPGs for Android, and there are some pretty good games (just finished the Zenonia demo). But I'm not looking for hack'n slash games with inventories. Are there any turn-based RPGs for Android? (e.g. like Final Fantasy)The math-based fights appeal to me and they can be played whenever - since I don't have to pay constant attention to the screen or buttons.

Apparently EA is bringing NFS to android! Engadget say it was demoed on the EVO yesterday. Are there any videos on the net of it? Also this might well mean we'll be seeing more high profile games coming to Android!

I'm very new to the android phone's (Just got my HTC hero three days ago.) and I was wondering, are there any good resident evil games for the htc Hero? I've seen some awesome one's on iphone and I used to have some fun Resi games on my old E71.
While I'm on the subject of gaming I have also downloaded the snesoid light and find the music and gaming a little sluggish. Is this just how it is or is there anything I can do to sort that? Would the full paid version work any better?

Android marketplace is slowly but surely receiving its share of excellent games. But you know, I've never found gaming on my N1 very pleasant. FPS? The controls are horrid. Game loft 3D offerings? Nice, but the pathing sucks and controls are cumbersome. It's just the nature of the beast--a device with just a big touchscreen are always going to be like this, and no, it's not because of the multi-touch problem. It's just awkward. There's no feedback to pressing virtual buttons. And FPS are... no. If I want to play those, I'll do it on a big screen. With a mouse. What I'd rather have are 2D games with great art direction. Caligo Chaser fits the bill but, again, suffers from awkward controls and real-time combat. How about a game like it but turn-based? If you're not familiar with turn-based, think... the original Fallouts. Final Fantasy even, if you must. King's Bounty: The Legend. Your party and the enemy take turns. Combat is slower-paced but, what the hell, your controls are going to be shitty anyway and it's best if you have forever to select your attacks instead of having to mash those silly virtual buttons, sometimes to no effect.

It appears Camel Games is now giving these three games away. I'm also left wondering what happened to their other games such as Super Tumble, as only the Lite version is left. Maybe that's going free, too? Hyper Jump is also missing from my latest search (whereas the Lite version is there). I'm somewhat in shock as these are some quality games!? Hopefully we'll find out the full story soon.

Browsing around the net at work today for Bluetooth Game Controllers, I came across a Mini Bluetooth Keyboard HERE - it's also selling on Ebay. It claims to be compatible with Android, but as we're all learning Android on one phone isn't the same as Android on another.
I'm wondering two things really: 1) Anyone know if it is actually compatible with Android and moreso if it's compatible with HTC Incredible
and 2) If it is compatible, once connected, can you use it in conjunction with Game Emulators (I have the popular one for GBA) so that I could use the buttons on there to play the games.
It's the perfect size for a game controller (too bad they don't also make one for that purpose) and would be much better than the touch screen controls which impede on the game.
