I feel dumb, but I can't work out how to edit the previous search entries to use them for new searches. Do I really have to type the same stuff over again just to add or remove a space, etc?

Android maintains search histories for the Google search widget, market, etc.
but you can't EDIT past searches.
You can't do variations of previous searches by changing or adding a word to the past search.
You can't correct a typo in a previous search..
The only option is to re-type the entire thing, while the phone displays the previous search with the wrong character, but not letting you fix it..
Personally, this is one of the most frustrating things about Android.
Google is all about searching, but they certainly got it wrong with Android's built-in search..
Does anyone know if there is a way to edit previous searches on android phones without the trackpad/d-pad. If you pull up a previous search in the quick search box, you have the option to select it. Once you select it, it will immediately begin searching but it will not give you the option to edit your previous search parameters? Any workarounds?

Now, there it sits in the history, with ONE letter bad, but you can only do the same, incorrect search again by tapping it.Am I missing something, or is it true that I have to enter the whole thing over again if I miss one letter. Same applies to variations on searches, such as "red truckload of elephants" and "blue truckload of elephants" No way to go back and just change red to blue.

If the data in the listview do not contain the data of user choice then user should be able to enter data. If the data is already there in the list user will be able to select the data using custom selector. If a selection is made in the list view and user wanted to enter data in the text field at the bottom after selection then the marker in the list view should be unselected. I tried to use onclick() method on edit text using click listener. First time when it is clicked, edit text is getting focus and onclick() method is not fired. And when it is clicked second time, onclick() method is fired and notifyDataSetChanged() method is called. I tried to call the notifyDataSetChanged() method from the Focus Listener, list view selection is gone in my first attempt and edit text is not receiving any data input from the keyboard (frozen).

I know you can change the cacheColorHint as discussed here: http://developer.android.com/resources/articles/listview-backgrounds.html but that is not what I am looking for and will not achieve what I am looking for in this case.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my htc desire s to the official 3.5 sense version and them to the endymion rom and both have something quite annoying in all browsers I have tried (dolphin, stock and boat browsers).
What happens is pressing back sends me to the top of a web page, meaning I have to press back twice to get to the previous page. It's not a huge deal, just a minor annoyance.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI do not have the option for "User Dictionary" when I press the settings key (button that looks like a gear at the bottom left of keyboard). I think its because of my location. I'm from Singapore and the keyboard that comes with it is a "CN Thai Keyboard". The settings button has a "abc" or "<chinese character>" below the "gear" symbol that toggles between chinese or english input when pressed. If held, some chinese input entry method options appear. No sight of an option to edit my user dictionary.
I want to edit the dictionary to remove wrongly spelled words I accidentally entered. I know the majority of you guys have another keyboard that came with your phone, and prob don't have this problem, but just wondering if someone from this forum might know..

I can click on the box, get the green selection graphic, but no cursor or keyboard to actually put anything in. Sometimes editing a recurring event shows "Change only this event", "Change all events in the series" and "Change this and all future events" options, but other times the only options are "Change all events in the series" and "Change this and all future events". Right now, when I open the Google search app it only shows the history of searches done on my phone. I have gone into the settings of search and selected show recent search history, but it still only shows searches done from my phone.
I have a verizon galaxy s3 running jellybean 4.1.
This phone has a great feature that i wish I had on my Pre. After searching for something in google it allows you to search for it with Sprint Navigation. Problem is that when I hit Sprint Nav it says the destination is "null" and I still have to manually type it all out which sucks for driving. In "maps" the destination address is already filled in. Is there a way to fix this or a setting needed to have the address input automatically in sprint nav?
