Woke up with update message, ran update. Phone completely wiped out of ALL data. Was very upset Does anyone know how to find a list of all previously loaded market place apps? This is a total pain in the butt.

Does anyone have the .apk that they can post? I can't find MeContacts in the market place It's a free app, so if anyone could download it, and post it on here, that would be much appreciated!
View 5 Replies View RelatedBasically when i install a new rom, the market has now lost the free apps because thats what it does. the market must have some sort of file it maintains locally with the list of apps, and whether or not they are set to auto-update. where is this list so i can just paste it into my new rom, and market will automatically get all the apps and maintain the auto update settings.(also i know and use titanium backup so dont reply with 'use titanium', i just want to do what im looking for so the market always gets the latest version on a rom redo and also keeps holding the auto-update status.)

View 12 Replies View RelatedOk, there is literally no way that I'm the only one who has asked this question but I can't find the answer by searching. Here's my problem, after I flash my rom and restart my phone the market begins auto-downloading all the apps I previously had installed. I do not want this bc I use titanium backup for all of that.
I know I can avoid it temporarily if I skip entering my email address, but there has to be a setting for me to un check that will make it not try to auto download anything once I do add my account.
I'm sure you guys have all run into this by now, so can someone please tell me what setting will resolve this issue?
there is an option in the settings for "unknown sources" it says "allow install of non-market applications" so where do i find these and do you recomend it? i want to find the good ol' boob jiggle app i lost back in the day with my ipod.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy family has got three android phones, an HTC Hero, a Samsung Galaxy, and a T-Mobile Pulse, all are running android 1.5 with the latest manufacturer firmware. On the T-Mobile Pulse, when searching for a couple of apps (ones that I have installed on the other two devices), I get returned 'no matches'. For example, if I search for 'BrightAI', which is a developer who has around 8 apps on the market, I get no matches. If I search for individual apps, I get 'no matches'. Searching for the same on either the Hero or Galaxy returns the expected results. Does anyone have any ideas why certain apps are accessible on one device, but not the other?

There are a bunch of pre-loaded apps on my phone (Facebook, twitter, stocks, my verizon) and they are always running in the background according to my task killer app. I want to get rid of them, and I have read that you cannot unless you "root" your phone. What exactly does rooting do? I know that it can permanently mess up your phone, so, is it worth it? Do you think that htc will update android to enable you to delete these pre-loaded apps?

When I try to launch market place with id of an application say com.mybrowser.android by throwing an intent android.intent.action.VIEW with url: market://details?id=com.mybrowser.android, the market place application does launches but crashes after launch.
Note: the application com.mybrowser.android doesn't exists in the market-place.
MyApplication is my application.

However, when I try to launch the market place for a package that exists in the market place say com.opera.mini.android, everything works. Log for this case:

I know I have camera app in the system as I have the camera app shortcut on the unlock screen and I can launch the camera from there. But I dont have camera in installed apps (in app drawer). I have tried installing the camera apk (install was successful) but still I dont see it in the search.

I often find myself reviewing a very popular, top-rated app, then not being able to find it no matter how I search in the Market. These aren't usually obscure, ancient, one-off apps. I usually am hearing about them in 'top Android apps' articles, etc.
I usually search by the exact name, then alternate spellings. And I recently got the Barcode Scanner and am scanning the QR codes over at AndroLib.com to see if it's any easier. But I haven't gotten ANY of those to come up.
- What gives with the Android Market? Could I have something setup improperly?
I live in Los Angeles, so I doubt it's a location issue.

I got my Evo for RS as soon as it opened. Once it was activated, I started downloading my favorite apps that I had on my Moment w/ 2.1. I have done every type of search I can think of in the Market, but I still can't find my two favorite apps: Launcher Pro and Quick Settings. I even went on AndroLib.com and found both apps. I then scanned the QR codes and it could not be located in the Market. I also clicked on the market link, using the browser on my Evo, from the review of Launcher Pro on AC and couldn't find it.Any one else having this problem? As a last resort I can make a backup of both apps from my Moment and then install it from the sd card to my Evo, but I would rather dl from the market.

1st post, I picked up my EVO on Monday after having 3 different models of the iPhone since 2007. I am really loving android and how versatile it is. One thing I can't seem to find so far is a list of everything Google offers in the Market - apps, widgets, etc. Searching "Google, Inc." in the Market will bring a lot of non Google apps in between and it doesn't seem to load Google's apps first. Is their a website that has a definitive list of Google, Inc.'s offerings in the Market?

I can find them in the market, but when I try to use my phone to download, it can not find them. Note: I used Astro to back up most of my apps on the phone, these couldn't be backed up since they were marked private. And they didn't display in my downloads either after the upgrade. Digital Clock Widget: Silent Time: If I use my friends phone (same version prior to my upgrade), no problem finding these apps. Suggestions? I could always downgrade back to the previous version, but I was having some freezing issues that I hope this upgrade fixed...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a Captivate and upgraded to the leaked 2.2 update.Since I updated, gameloft apps(specifically Asphalt 5 HD) will no longer show up in the market.I have tried going to gameloft directly and even directly to the download page but it states that there is no such app.Again, I could find all gameloft apps before my update.I've also had other apps show up and when I click, the download page can't be found.is this because the apps are not compatible with 2.2?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I've had my HTC Hero, the internet connection has been really flaky. That is, about half the time it works ok, but with a slow start, and the other half it doesn't work at all, and comes up with either a "cannot find page" in the browser, or "a network error has occurred" in Market or other apps.
I bought into the Hero thing because I wanted a mobile internet device and my iPhone wasn't cutting it with the lack of Flash. But at least my iPhone always worked!
The problem I'm having is this:
No matter whether I'm on wifi or not, browsing for a webpage in any of the available browsers (standard, steel, dolphin), has a delay of about 5 seconds, and then either starts loading the page, or comes up with some kind of "page not found" error. This happens with all websites, including the home page of google, which isn't exactly big or unreliable, except on my Hero.
Also, any app that uses an internet connection, such as Market, more often than not comes up with "a network error has occurred". Clicking "retry" rarely works.
Now if it was just through wifi, I would think it might be the setup of the routers that I've tried it on, allthough I've tried it on 3 completely different types of router, all with same symptoms.
I've also done much testing with wifi switched off, and still the same issues.
I could understand it if it just didn't work ever under either wifi or other, but sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
I have done my wifi tests while sitting right next to the routers, with maximum signal reception being indicated.
Ok, so it tells me that "a network error has occurred". Is there some way of finding out exactly what the error was? Was it a timeout, or a DNS error, or what?
