A new update came out yesterday for doubleTwist that allows podcasts to be downloaded and synced just like on the iPod/iPhones. And not just audio podcasts like Google's app, you also get video podcasts as well! Though it does seem like it takes awhile to sync them, it is a way cool addition that makes doubleTwist closer to that all-inclusive experience that iTunes gives with all the different media.

Im very new to this app, I was wondering how can I make it so I only see audio/video podcasts. I dont need to see the text posts they just make it confusing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI regularly download Podcasts which I then play as MP3's on my current HTC TYTN2. Rather than download to the laptop then transfer to the new Desire I would rather download directly to the Desire but when I go to the Podcast I want - on the BBC site, the instructions of 'Right Click and Save as Target' don't apply.
If I click that instead it simply plays the Podcast - which I don't want. What I really want is to be able to download the Podcast/MP3 directly to my phone SD card - is there an app which would help or am I forced to download via the laptop?
Its really obnoxious. It doesn't matter if make sure and unselect 'sync music' and only have one particular podcast checked, it will sync everything. All podcasts, entire music library, everytime. I cant for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong and its pretty damn annoying because of how much longer it takes to do it, when really if it would sync just what I wanted it to, it would take less than 5 minutes. At least WinAMP is out and perhaps will be a better solution than this buggy app Doubletwist. This is my last time dealing with it unless I find a home-run solution.

Also created a folder on the X10 called "Podcast" and copied the relevant files and still no joy. I feel like I am re-inventing the wheel here so some constructive suggestions will be welcomed.

I have feedR which is very good for most podcasts and will allow you to download them to the SD card for listening at a later date. It's also an excellent piece of kit for news feeds but that's a different issue. There are some podcasts I like to listen to that are only available on itunes and feedR cannot download these. Does anyone know of a way of downloading these onto the desire?

I keep seeing that I should use isyncr if I want to continue to use itunes but do I need an SD card before I starting syncing my podcasts/music to my captivate? View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I play one of the stock ringtones (which, by the way, suck) or stream radio stations, music plays fine. However, I would like to be able to download music to my phone either from my computer or from an app, but every time I try either of those, I hear a popping/dripping noise in the background. It happens both when I preview the song/sound and when I download it, and it doesn't matter where I download them from. I've tried websites, my computer, apps, etc. So frustrating!
It sounds like it may be a problem with the speakers, like maybe they are having trouble playing certain file types or something, but I haven't the slightes idea why this is. That's just a hunch, though. I know nothing about how phones work. Anyone know what might be going on? By the way, I don't know if this affects anything, but my phone is rooted now. The popping/dripping began way before I rooted it, though. Just throwing that out there.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Moment with Android 2.1 on it and lately I cannot stream music or video in any app that I try. The YouTube app says "Sorry, this video cannot be played." for every single video, and if I try to use something like DroidLive (for shoutcast and such) it has a connection error every time. Grooveshark has an "Unknown MediaPlayer error." I tried a few other random apps off of the market to try to rule things out and none of them would play. Music that is stored on my SD card plays just fine.
It doesn't only not work sometimes, it doesn't work 100% of the time now. Happens when I have 3G and even if I'm connected to Wifi. I did a factory reset last night thinking that maybe an app had messed with a setting somewhere and it still doesn't work. I have no clue what else I could possibly try.

Why is the behavior for video and audio different?
I am new in Android. I am using android os 2.2. I am trying to play streaming audio and video from url. I don't know what to do for that. after 3 days og googling i come to know that I have to use mediaPlayer and MediaController classes.I had use different differend combination of codes found on internet but not succeed.Can anybody guide me what to do for streaming audio/video playing. As mentioned audio stops after some random number of times when played from either Music/Video player. After some debugging, I found that the problem is:
In "android_audio_output.cpp"->audout_thread_func() there is a call to wait(iAudioThreadSem->Wait()) just before the while(1) and it is waiting indefinitely for something.
Can anybody tell me what is it waiting for and why is it not able to come out? From what I can understand, it is waiting for a signal (semaphore) but where is it expecting a signal from?
