I currently have a yahoo email address and have setup my email fine on my desire. I sync my contacts and calendar items in Outlook via HTC and all is working fine.My question is.. since its a google device, would i have a better "experience" if i set the gmail email address as my primary address? is there anything special that you can do with a gmail address on the desire that you cna't do without one?

I am trying to set up a second gmail account to my Eres. Does anyone know if I can actually do this? I have my personal one as my primary account but I use gmail for work and am having difficulty figuring out how to add it.Please help before I get upset and go back to the Motorola Droid.

So how do I add this new Gmail acct and Google Calender to my Hero so I can recveive my email and be able to access the calender using the GMAIL App that came preinstalled?

Changes i made werent showing up on web version, and emails i sent would just sit in outbox.I have 2 gmail accts.Removing 1 of the accts and adding it back, fixed the issue with that account.But its not letting me remove the main gmail acct.

I've searched the forums and found articles but known that gives me a step by step, I'm no amateur, but the N1 doesn't give me the option except for FB, twitter, and active sync, and Gmail. I know it's possible, it just ahs to be! My 2006 Samsung Alias aloud for it, why won't the N1? I even called Goog to ask them and they had no clue.

I use Outlook and Microsoft Exchange -- and had read all about how Android synced easily. And it did at first. Then, 10 days ago, the calendar stopped syncing. I got a "Client/Server conversion error," and no sync. The problem only effected my calendar -- mail and contacts were synced just fine. After reading a few forums, I did a "Remove account," re-installed the account. It worked fine again. No big deal.
Then it happened again today. I did the Remove/re-install thing again, and again it was cured. Until six hours later.
Is anyone else having this problem with their calendar/exchange sync? Any solution guesses?
Without being able to sync my phone to Outlook, the Desire I love so much is somewhere between frustrating and infuriating.
I would like to explain me better. In android once you receive an email on gmail you would get notified almost in realtime. How does it work? Thinking about an answer i had 1 idea: Android is connected to a gmail server which does not send anything untill it has new mails This solution , which is the only one i can think about, is a little bit expensive, in term of battery consumption. Do you have further ideas? If not do you know some opensource server that will accomplish my idea?

I have the sbcglobal account in the email app and then the other 3 in the gmail app. How can I switch between the 3 gmail accounts?? What I've gone and done is delete my gmail account of the Internet without realizing that it was linked to my x10 mini.
I've been through all of the settings and can't seen to find out how to create a new account.
So under menu, accts and sync I have twitter for htc sense, facebook for htc sence, twitter, weather and stocks. Why are they there...i also have facebook for android installed that pushes data...along with sep twitter app. Not sure what purpose this plays.

But when i turn my phone on every time, it says there is a problem with my Google Account because the password is incorrect or your account has changed. It isnt the password that is wrong?
How to get it to work and remember the password? I was hoping to unroot back to 1.5 but i dont think that is possible.

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to access my favorites and playlists, it's keeps asking me for my password telling me I entered the incorrect password or account information has changed. Nothing has changed. I am able to log onto Youtube on my pc with the same password, but can not on the Droid.
It was working just fine earlier in the evening, but I can't imagine what changed.
If I look under Accounts and Sync in the settings section, I see my gmail account and my youtube account. When I click REMOVE ACCOUNT under the youtube setting, it tells me I am going to erase all my messages and contacts. I thought I could reset the password this way, but I was concerned it was going to erase my gmail contacts as I don't have any youtube contacts and thus don't know what they are referencing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedNoticed yesterday that I wasn't getting any new Gmail. After about 12 hours of no syncs I went in and played with settings, turning the sync on-and-off, and it finally synced again.
Well, now it has gone 13 hours without a sync according to the settings, and nothing I do seems to make it want to sync.
Anyone have any suggestions? I am running 2.1, and sync has worked since the upgrade for at least a few days. I have installed no new apps, I did delete one (Engadget reader, so nothing important)
I've gotten our company staff to be able to see and modify eachother's calendars within our google apps accounts. but.. we're having trouble making it so we can see company contacts (ie - customers) would love it if we could get one person to take a call, enter in the contacts info and then assign a tech to the service call and he can see it in his android phone. we've created a generic [company_name]@gmail.com google apps account - one person can connect/login to it (me! of course!haha) but can't get a second person to do the same. do you think google is doing this on purpose? not allowing a second android device to login?

Can anyone comment on the screen durability with a case attached or a skin applied to the Aria. View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally made the jump. Rooted today, after much study, and seems to have gone well. Backed up, and ready to go with a ROM, ROM manager installed. So, after untold hours of reading and digging, I cannot come up with a ROM that I can pin down as a good, solid starting point -- or better yet, one I might stick with for a while at least. They are so many. Did much reading on the earlier Fresh RO, but keep gravitating back to the newer ones like Cyanogen, Bugles Beast, etc. But I cannot find any comprehensive talk about these Roms -- it is just scattered and piecemeal. So thought I would ask those who have actually downloaded and flashed these ROM as to their opinion. I use my phone for the basic services. I need solid phone, MSM, Market access and installation, etc. I do not need blazing speed -- much rather stability and function. Where to begin? What say folks?

I had three other people hold my phone and they all experienced the same problem. I tried reporting the problem to Verizon 9 times to help me get a temporary phone while the Incredible is on back order. However, they come back to me saying to either continue using the phone or you must get another phone and hold on to it for two years. I emailed the CEO and finally got a call back from executive relations. Now they keep calling me demanding to have the phone back.

So far I have noticed that it tends to drain more battery, some messages are not recieved/sent, and recently today it deleted my entire library of text messages. I am not complaining abot the app at all. I just want to know if my issues are unique or if anyone else has witnessed these issues on their phone. Let me know if I am just an idiot, or if my phone is acting up, or you guys have also had these issues. I hate to get rid of handcent because I like how I can change the color of the notification LED but its not worth having if it means deleting all my text.
