I just updated my Eris to 2.1. When i start it up, i give the google account info and the password and it all works good. But when i turn my phone on every time, it says there is a problem with my Google Account because the password is incorrect or your account has changed. It isnt the password that is wrong?
How to get it to work and remember the password? I was hoping to unroot back to 1.5 but i dont think that is possible.

View 14 Replies View RelatedNoticed yesterday that I wasn't getting any new Gmail. After about 12 hours of no syncs I went in and played with settings, turning the sync on-and-off, and it finally synced again.
Well, now it has gone 13 hours without a sync according to the settings, and nothing I do seems to make it want to sync.
Anyone have any suggestions? I am running 2.1, and sync has worked since the upgrade for at least a few days. I have installed no new apps, I did delete one (Engadget reader, so nothing important)
I've gotten our company staff to be able to see and modify eachother's calendars within our google apps accounts. but.. we're having trouble making it so we can see company contacts (ie - customers) would love it if we could get one person to take a call, enter in the contacts info and then assign a tech to the service call and he can see it in his android phone. we've created a generic [company_name]@gmail.com google apps account - one person can connect/login to it (me! of course!haha) but can't get a second person to do the same. do you think google is doing this on purpose? not allowing a second android device to login?

View 28 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to access my favorites and playlists, it's keeps asking me for my password telling me I entered the incorrect password or account information has changed. Nothing has changed. I am able to log onto Youtube on my pc with the same password, but can not on the Droid.
It was working just fine earlier in the evening, but I can't imagine what changed.
If I look under Accounts and Sync in the settings section, I see my gmail account and my youtube account. When I click REMOVE ACCOUNT under the youtube setting, it tells me I am going to erase all my messages and contacts. I thought I could reset the password this way, but I was concerned it was going to erase my gmail contacts as I don't have any youtube contacts and thus don't know what they are referencing.

I've searched the forums and found articles but known that gives me a step by step, I'm no amateur, but the N1 doesn't give me the option except for FB, twitter, and active sync, and Gmail. Everything was going well until it got to the point of making a recovery, which for some reason, my phone wouldn't let me do. Infuriated and frustrated, I followed the steps to go back to 1.5 to a tee. However, I miss Vlingo so much, and i went to install the OTA 2.1, and it aborted the installation. I now have HBOOT 1.49.2000, so does my phone basically think I have the 2.1v3 leak, or am I just flat-out screwed? Done multiple factory resets, etc. and they haven't helped either

My parents are looking to upgrade their regular phones (for free) and I was going to recommend the eris (from amazon) to them. I have heard some talk of not having very good signal and mention of some bugs and want to know how much truth there is behind these (especially signal) or if they were lemons, etc. if it matters all my parents would do is call/text (obviously), email sync, and maybe browse the web every once in a while. Bugs with, say face book, wouldn't matter.

On this calendar I also can view my calendars of other family members.The problem I am having is that I had to create a google account when I bought the phone. However, I can't seem to get my non-google calendar to show up on the phone.I have tried using my new google account to "friend" my non-google calendar account but it's still not showing up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have searched around for an answer to these two issues, but haven't been able to find anything. After doing the manual upgrade to 2.1 OTA, most everything is fine. However, Google Voice and Google Listen are having issues. Google Voice is giving me a Force Close message every time I receive a text message in Hand cent SMS (to my non-GV number). I don't actually use GV on my voice all that often. Google Listen seems to have lost all trace of any of my pod casts, including new ones that have come in since the update. Every episode on every pod cast has, just under the title: "Error (sd card/com.goggle.android.apps.listen/downloads/e55bee71)" The string of letters and numbers on each one is different. I used Astor File Manager to look in this folder and each of those files is not there. Some of these folders were downloaded a month ago (I'm a little slow in getting to some pod casts) and some I have listened to already pre update but still getting the error now. Some that I have listened to are not giving the error. And any that were downloaded after the update are giving the error.

I was looking around online and I found a video in which the guy manages to install it using only apks. Yes, he was rooted, but the only reasons I could see that it needed root was to edit build.prop and to edit the system apks. So I thought, well, couldn't I just do that on my computer? I was thinking that maybe if I plugged my phone in via USB, got build.prop off the system folder, edited it, then edited the system files, but the new build.prop on, installed the apk I would have Google Now! I'm pretty sure this won't work, but I'm curious why.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Droid Eris for my wife. When you start Google Maps on her phone it pins "My Location" as somewhere in Northern India. Additionally, the weather HTC clock/weather widget on the home screen is showing weather for that location. The only way that I can get it to detect the correct location is to turn turn off cellular/wifi location detection and use gps exclusively. I have seen one or two posts on the Verizon forums claiming that the Eris is incapable of determining location using the cellular network and will only work with gps outdoors. I have looked through the forums here but can't seem to find any similar posts. Is anyone else having this problem with the Eris or could it possibly be a problem with this particular phone? I am hoping it is just this phone in which case I can take it back and exchange it for another one. After showing her so many different apps on my Droid that use location detection to give local information, it would be a shame if these will only work outdoors with a clear view of the sky.
