I received notification this morning that my phone was ready for an update! Unfortunately after the update rebooted the phone it stopped at the Moto symbol and would not go any further. Called verizon and walked throught he normal battery pull and factory reset to no avail. The only answer they had was to send me a replacement phone which will be here to tomorrow. Bummer it broke but good customer service softened the issue.

I just did the update yesterday on my EVO and now google maps is completely gone. I've tried rebooting but that hasn't helped me either. Anyone else having this issue or know what I can do to fix it?

Is anyone else having this issue? Ever since the OTA update yesterday, if I am on the phone and another call comes in, at that very moment, the current call I am on gets disconnected and I have to click either "answer" or "reject" button. Its like the WAITING part of call waiting doesn't work anymore. like the phone can only handle 1 call at a time. I've tried rebooting but dont know what else to try.

I have installed the 2.1 update on my HTC Hero yesterday, and happy as a puppy I instaleld my streaming app... Just to discover that it won't stream decently... It has to stream an mp3 stream and it works on my ADP 1.6 device, on a Samsung Galaxy S test-device (with 2.1) and on the 2.1 emulator...
Logcat is gettign the follwoing errors :

The result is a playing player, which stops (pauzes) every 10 seconds, the restarts This will work for about 8-10 restarts and then will simply stop without ever thrwoing an exception or something like that Which makes it somewhat difficult (if not impossible) to catch for us developers So has anyone been experiencing the same problem ? Does anyone have a clue if in this update another OpenCore lib has been used ? Does anyone have any solution ?

I did the over the air 2.1 update and now my People app sync'd all 2000 of my Gmail contacts and there appears to be *no* option to sync just the 'My Contacts' group of my Gmail account. There was an option for that in Eris 1.5 (although I remember it being a little hard to find). But I've searched everywhere, and there is no "Sync Groups" option on any of the tabs of the People app. I also tried wiping the Contacts Storage app and resyncing, but that was no help. There are no options in Settings->Accounts & Sync either. This is a crippling regression bug, how could they have shipped the 2.1 update like this? Or am I just missing some hidden sync option?

I just manually updated to 2.2 (successfully) but I started to panic when I couldn't find the camera shots category in the new gallery app. I mounted the phone to my computer and found the photos on my phones internal memory, so they're all safe, but I still cant view them on my phone. Also, whenever I take a picture and try to go back to review it later, I get a "no photos found" error, and the new photo doesn't show up in the directory of the previously "lost" photos from prior to the update. It's safe to say that I'm utterly bamboozled. Anyone else experiencing this issue or know how to fix it?

What do we do now.. i cannot charge my phone which means i cannot talk on my phone because the port on my evo 4g at which i am to use to plug my charger into, is broken. after looking into this issue on the internet, i have learned that this is not an uncommon issue but that this is a very common issue amoung evo users... i absolutely love this phone, however i am very let down and discouraged to have developed this problem and i am hoping that there is an easy solution... i would hate to have to be any more irritated than i already have become.

That isn't the worst part of it. I dropped the phone battery and the cover came off and the micro sd latch broke off it. It just like popped off after it dropped in target like a week ago so now I can't use a ringtone nor take pictures or download music straight to my phone so is there any way to get the micro sd working again? Because I can't exactly replace this phone being that I had won this when that giveaway was going on back last year in december.

I just received my HTC Desire. Even though Ive had it for less than a day, I've really fallen in love with it. And this is my first android phone, so I have a lot of questions to ask (I came off of Windows Mobile). I bought the phone unlocked and brand new from amazon: Amazon.com: HTC A8181 Desire Unlocked Quad-Band GSM Phone with Android OS, HTC Sense UI, 5 MP Camera, Wi-Fi and gps navigation--International Version with Warranty (Brown): Cell Phones & Accessories: Reviews, Prices & more I live in the United States and I am using AT&T. Does this mean I can just hit "update" when I see the notification to update? I don't plan on rooting any time soon as I don't want to risk doing something stupid in the process and bricking my phone.

I had an O2 branded Desire since the O2 release, but for some reason when It tried to update to the latest firmware it went completely corrupt, I tried to restore it but with no luck. Eventually rather than messing around I rang O2 and had them send me a new phone (business insurance made sure I got it next day, no questions asked). But since getting my new phone it wont find the update and is running the old OS.
I'm on:
Firmware 2.1-update1
Software 1.20.207.3
Iv tried searching for the update but it finds nothing, could it be because my SD card is from my previous phone?

I have a desire from vf uk. it was one of the first ones with no real branding but does not qualify for the 2.2 update. luckily i havent updated to the new vf firmware. my question is, is there an easy way to unlock my handset so i can use htcs own 2.2 update? i no there are plenty of threads on this topic but they always assume people understand all the terms and it becomes confusing! i don't no my hboot from my bootloader or goldcard? it would be great if anyone could point me towards a guide written in plain easy to follow and explaind steps, m no novice to mobile tech but a programmer im not! i cant be the only one. so is there a way to make the phone update ota to htcs own 2.2 froyo?

I am having a problem with my Desire's GPS, I am running the official Orange 2.2 Update and ever since the update my Desire won't pick up my GPS location. It displays the GPS icon in the notification bar but whenever I use Maps or Navigation (Google) it constantly displays 'Searching for GPS'. This is my 2nd Desire as I lost my original, and I do not remember even trying the GPS before the update (due to it being so close to the update release), so I don't know if it is the update or a fault. I would like to know if anyone else has had an issue with this, I know Voda had a similar issue with their update, and how you fixed it. I have tried removing the battery, SIM and SD card but I haven't tried a factory reset yet. I am also wondering if there is a debranded ROM I can flash without rooting in which I could revert back to the original if I needed to send it back to HTC. I am pretty sure this device is SLCD as I can notice the difference from my original AMOLED model.

I have an issue with my desire, as alot of people have reported my battery life has taken a significant hit since the 2.2 update. Prior to the update i was getting about 2 days usage out of the phone, its now struggling to last a day at times and by that i mean about 8-10 hours. I think there is an application or process that is stopping my phone from sleeping and i was wondering if you could help identify and then fix it if possible? Also, one of the things i have noticed is that my applications have started updating automatically...prior to 2.2 update I would get notified but could chose whether or not to download them...is there any way i can revert the phone back to the original state?

The phone is the htc desire, it's unlocked but not unbranded from t-mobile and currently with o2. I got the OTA for 2.2 and didn't update it because the last time i updated it caused my wifi to fork up meaning my first two weeks of owning a desire meant waiting for it to come back from HTC repair.
Adding salt to the wound, it came back locked meaning I had to fork out another tenner to unlock again. So question! does anyone have experience of updating to 2.2 on an unlocked but branded phone (on Tmobile). Will it lock the phone again?

I got a notification today about the Froyo update being available (yay!) but was in the middle of something so hit cancel, thinking I could get it later. But I can't work out how to!
It did say that the phone would check again at the next scheduled time so I can download it then if need be - but does anyone know how to make the phone check before then?

After a recent trip away I have come back and the HTC clock widget does not update to the current location... it is stuck on 'United Kingdom' instead of my current location...
As a test I went for a drive today and whist 'Latitude' showed where I was, the google home page still showed the wrong location, and HTC widget still showed just 'United Kingdom'...
This has just got me stumped..

OK this is weird, I haven't really taken much pics with my Droid X until recently. First time I had the phone, the camera button worked great, took a few pics here and there just to test it out. Have not used it since then, until recently. It was working fine after taking a few shots but from some reason, it won't take any pics now. Also pressing the camera button does not open the camera app at all now (it used to before).I know it's two stages, autofocus then press all the way down to take the pic, but it aint working. I slowly press it for autofocus, nothing happens. I then completely press it down, still nothing. Sometimes it does look like it focuses really quick then the LED light flashes for a moment but camera does not take the pic (no click or anything). And now it hardly even does that anymore. I tried a camera app that has the buttons on screen and that works taking pics so I'm guessing its my camera button... Anyone had this issue? This really sucks, I'm going to have to take this to VZ store near my house, if anything would they replace it with a new phone or a refurb?

For 2 years I've said a few words, waited for the droid to process them, said a few more words, waited, etc. About a month ago something happened such that if I pause in my speech, what I say next deletes everything I've said before and starts over.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. To say this is braindead is an understatement.
I can adjust to just say what I want to text, but heaven forbid I pause a second or so to gather my thoughts.

First one broke 2 weeks ago I don't know what from but I've never dropped the phone with the case on and next thing I know I took it out of my pocket and the face plate was broken in the top right corner. This evening as I was walking home with my phone and case on it that I just got replaced about 5 days ago I dropped my phone screen down first, I thought it was done. Luckily it was safe though again the face plate is broken on my case.
I'm getting yet another replacement from Otterbox which is good..Really wish I could get a refund or voucher to use on their site for the cost of the case.

I wanted to upgrade my Nabi with the latest OTA. I had TWRP 2.2.2.1. I used it to revert to an old backup. After the restore, I tried to apply the OTA updates. After it rebooted and started the install I got an "!" Android logo.
I power cycled and I was able to boot back in. I noticed I still had the Play Store app (which will not work, error about connecting to services) and suspect the "stockunrooted" restore I used may not have been completely "stock". I did lose root and TWRP though.
I tried to reinstall TWRP again, but it appears that Fastboot no longer works since the restore. The tablet just hangs on the Nabi logo indefinitely. When I press Vol - & + with PWR, and select Recovery Mode, I just get another "!" Android logo (is this stock recovery?).
ADB works, it sees the tablet and I'm able to push, access shell etc. I used motochopper to root the Nabi again. I tried installing flash_image to manually flash a new TWRP recovery.img, but running the command I get an error about "error scanning partitions".
I'm not sure what else I can do to get Fastboot working or a recovery system installed again. OTA upgrade will not apply, and I'm stuck on 1.9.37 at this point.how I can get Fastboot fixed and the Nabi back to "normal" / upgradeable.
