General :: Nabi 2 - TWRP Restore Broke Fastboot
Dec 28, 2013
I wanted to upgrade my Nabi with the latest OTA. I had TWRP 2.2.2.1. I used it to revert to an old backup. After the restore, I tried to apply the OTA updates. After it rebooted and started the install I got an "!" Android logo.
I power cycled and I was able to boot back in. I noticed I still had the Play Store app (which will not work, error about connecting to services) and suspect the "stockunrooted" restore I used may not have been completely "stock". I did lose root and TWRP though.
I tried to reinstall TWRP again, but it appears that Fastboot no longer works since the restore. The tablet just hangs on the Nabi logo indefinitely. When I press Vol - & + with PWR, and select Recovery Mode, I just get another "!" Android logo (is this stock recovery?).
ADB works, it sees the tablet and I'm able to push, access shell etc. I used motochopper to root the Nabi again. I tried installing flash_image to manually flash a new TWRP recovery.img, but running the command I get an error about "error scanning partitions".
I'm not sure what else I can do to get Fastboot working or a recovery system installed again. OTA upgrade will not apply, and I'm stuck on 1.9.37 at this point.how I can get Fastboot fixed and the Nabi back to "normal" / upgradeable.

I have a Nabi 2 that was rooted almost a year ago to gain access to the Google Play store. My needs have changed since then and I wanted to restore it to factory settings.
If I boot normally the Nabi is stuck here:
I have managed to get it to boot to TRWP by pressing the power and + keys. I see this:
There are no images to "restore" under the restore tab. This is what I see:
provide me with a kernel file or some tips on how to restore the machine to it's 'out-of-the-box' configuration. I want to donate this device to a young child and need to get it back into a kid friendly mode.

I am running the latest nightly CM11 on my LG G Pad 8.3 V500 and have the latest TWRP installed.
I was experimenting with a stupid app called LCDDensity for root and it caused my G Pad to be stuck in a bootloop. I was able to boot into TWRP and the first thing I did was to make a complete backup. I then tried to wipe cache and dalvik cache but the device was still stuck in the bootloop. This was the point were I did not know what elso to do and so I wiped everything and installed the latest nightly (I was running a previous version when the bootloop happened). Everything is working again and I am on the latest version now, but all my data is gone of course.
My Questions are:
If I restore the backup I made when the device was stuck in the bootloop, will this then cause a bootloop again, or can I savely restore the backup? I don't know if that makes any sense, but I am afraid to restore corrupt data somehow. What else could I have done to get the device to boot up again?

made a mistake. Now I have stock recovery and the nabi freezes on the boot logo. getting it booting again or getting twrp back on.

What is required to root my Nabi 2. I actually only want to root the device so that I can use the foldermount app to move app data to the SD card.
A lot of the info I can find seems to be pre-OTA (well, the latest one anyhow) and I'm not sure if that invalidates the instructions.
My device: -
Stock everything as per latest OTA update.
NABI2-NV7A - US
Android 4.1.1
Build JRO03C

I rooted using the nabi lab 2 (URL....), after a prior root, gapps installation which had the update issue. I am on the current .37 update.I downloaded dragonbox from the play store, and it loads but nothing on the screen responds to touch. Is there a way I can force this app to work on the Nabi? Or is this an issue with the software? (I'd be willing to get to the bones, rid the Monarch UI, etc. to have better functionality of the Nabi).

I just installed the 2.1 update on my child's Nabi 2. I would like to root it so that she could have some of the apps in the Google Play Store. Can I use Nabi Lab 2 to root it, or has there been an update since then? I download Nabi Lab 2, and it said in the instructions that I needed to be on version 1.9.37 so I was afraid to use it. how to root my Nabi 2 with the latest update on it.

Lost wifi again! was doing the normal backup and return to stock again to get the wifi back and it packed up on me, no longer accepting touch input. So I am stuck can't try to reload it, in the hope its software. Right now its version 2.0.5 or something like that. Can't use the recovery since the touch is not working. Is there any working non-touch recoverys or is there a stock like firmware that can be loaded with out twrp touch. I still can fastboot flash the recoveries none work I have tried all the twrp version I could find.
I can plug a mouse in with a usbtg adapter but that is not useable in twrp.
I have opened it up to make sure a cable was not loose on the screen, and it was not dropped or broken in anyway.

I'm getting an "insufficient storage" error on installing apps from Google Play (even small 6mb apps). I find if i delete several apps and run it again it works (there is apparently 470MB free despite this).
I've seen references to changing settings so that Google Play installs to the SD card but cant figure out which apply here. And also to clearing the cache for applications (in the TWRP app perhaps?).
I've run the jmz script from the Nabi 2 root thread, but I think I'm missing a step or two (although apps do in fact install, which they wouldn't before).

For 2 years I've said a few words, waited for the droid to process them, said a few more words, waited, etc. About a month ago something happened such that if I pause in my speech, what I say next deletes everything I've said before and starts over.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. To say this is braindead is an understatement.
I can adjust to just say what I want to text, but heaven forbid I pause a second or so to gather my thoughts.

So the title may be a bit hard to comprehend but the gist of it is that I turned on full device encryption and since then when I transfer the pics off the phone to a computer they cannot be viewed. The message I get is corrupted metadata, the sizes on them seem right, I have not tried to view the exif data through a utility yet to see what exactly is corrupted.
I can still see the pics on the device, and share them online, but when I copy them off of the device they are broken. I've tried a couple of jpg recovery tools without any luck.
Most similar posts I've seen related to this is a corrupted sd cared (but this is on the internal one and only started after I turned encryption on).
And to confuse things a bit more, if I email the pic off it works correctly. So the problem seems to be just directly pulling them off the device, or browsing them when they are on the phone but connected to a machine. Same thing happens in linux and windows with various software.

My galaxy S2 fell and my digitizer is apparently non-working - I can see the screen sort of, but there is no touch response.
Anyway, I can't let just about anyone who I take it to have access to my data, since my contacts are stored on the google cloud, I have them all anyway, but I either need to:
1. Access the phone via PC and wipe the data by emulating the screen on my PC.
I tried using Kies air to do it - it recognizes the phone, but I can't open it through it because my phone is locked and it won't give me access otherwise. Of course I can't unlock it since the digitizer is dead.
I tried using software like droid-at-screen, installing the proper SDK components, BUT the phone never got recognized. It is my deduction that I have to enable USB debugging, which, again, I can't do since I don't have the touch interface.
2. The other solution would be to wipe all data manually, which I assumed was done holding the 2 volume buttons + power button, but all that ever got me to was the lock screen along with a "safe mode" in the corner.

TWRP recovery won't see the internal storage on my phone anymore. It did, then I flashed TrickDroid and chose the "wipe" option, and now it won't. I've flashed CWM and that works, but TWRP won't, which sucks, because I only have a backup in TWRP and I haven't found a way to restore in CWM from a TWRP backup.

I've been slackin' on the updates of my rom lately and thought it was finally time to do a proper update. I got my HTC one in the US around release and rooted it back then. However, now I was trying to install Android Revolution on it and the installation went fine (well, at least so I thought) up until the time I was going to boot it. It constantly keeps on re-booting me into the TWRP menu, even though the rom seems to be installed.
I was looking around and found out about ADP push [URL] However, I get stuck on the step where I'm supposed to get up my Serial number in the terminal. It seems as if the command runs through but comes up with nothing, just a blank space. At first I simply ignored this and moved on to the next step. However, my computer doesn't seem to acknowledge the command ./adb push NameOfRom.zip /data/media/. Where do I go from here?

I have a rooted HTC One and I have TWRP 2.6.3.3. Recently my phone's battery life has started to go down and I though I'll check the storage and what not, uninstall some apps im not using and some other stuff. It was then I found that my recovery was taking up in excess of 8GB ! I've backed up my phone using TWRP only a few times and each backup is taking up nearly 3GB of space.
I was wondering If I delete the previous backups and keep the current one (back it up on my PC)

I'm using a rooted LG G2. I tried flashing the newest version of the Paranoid Android Beta, but I accidentally deleted all old versions from my device. The ROM failed to flash for some reason, and now my device goes into TWRP every time I try to reboot because I have no other roms to flash. I tried side loading the working version of the ROM, but when I search for ADB devices in command prompt, my device doesn't come up. When I go into Hardware and Devices on my computer, my G2 shows with an exclamation mark next to it that says the drivers are installed.

I have an AT&T SGS4 with a melted USB port so there is no way for me to use fastboot or Odin to flash bootloaders, etc. Is it possible to flash a Samsung factory bootloader through recovery?
What I am trying to accomplish:
I am on Touchwiz 4.3 and the 4.4.2 KK release was leaked in our forum. I used the dsixda kitchen to break it down and made a ROM out of it that successfully flashed in recovery but kernel panics at the AT&T splash boot screen because the RAMdisk doesn't match the bootloader version. So I need to upgrade the bootloader to the 4.4.2 version so it will boot.
I unpacked the RAMdisk and there is nothing in any of the init.xx files that points to the bootloader. I even used a hex editor to look at the init binary which references the bootloader but there was nothing in there that I could change (from what I saw).

My mom has an Asus TF300T running JB 4.2.1. She tried to root and flash OmniROM by herself and borked it somehow. Unfortunately, she didn't do any backup...
She entered the fastboot screen and there she selected wipe. Then she flashed openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-tf300tg-JB.blob using fastboot.
It's operational, the OS loads up fine and she can use it, install apps etc.
I can get to the fastboot screen and from there to the TWRP no problem, but TWRP can't mount anything besides system. No dalvik partition, no data partition, not even the SD or external SD.Naturally, I can't flash another rom...
Tried executing "fix permissions" from the TWRP menu, it didn't work.
Downloaded the latest official Asus blob file TF300T-US_epad-10_6_1_27_5-UpdateLauncher.zip and flashed it using fastboot, hoping it will restore the missing partitions but it didn't make any difference.
Also tried CWM - same issue.

My tablet is: Asus Transformer TF300T (rooted)
What I did:
- I accidentally wiped all data in tablet - ROM, etc. Only left is Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) v2.2.0 recovery
- I put Android.zip (installation files) into MicroSD Card / uSD Card
- I boot into recovery (TWRP)
- TWRP does not read/detect the SD Card
- There is no files in /sdcard except one; /sdcard/TWRP/.twrps
I also
- installed adb on PC
- did 'adb devices' - no device detected when connect between tablet and PC How?
