Motorola Droid :: Power Button On Phone Broke / Have Warranty?
Aug 15, 2010My power button on my droid broke, like it is just "stuck" for some reason....will Verizon cover this under the standard one year manufacturer warranty??

Motorola Droid X :: Camera Button Broke
Aug 4, 2010OK this is weird, I haven't really taken much pics with my Droid X until recently. First time I had the phone, the camera button worked great, took a few pics here and there just to test it out. Have not used it since then, until recently. It was working fine after taking a few shots but from some reason, it won't take any pics now. Also pressing the camera button does not open the camera app at all now (it used to before).I know it's two stages, autofocus then press all the way down to take the pic, but it aint working. I slowly press it for autofocus, nothing happens. I then completely press it down, still nothing. Sometimes it does look like it focuses really quick then the LED light flashes for a moment but camera does not take the pic (no click or anything). And now it hardly even does that anymore. I tried a camera app that has the buttons on screen and that works taking pics so I'm guessing its my camera button... Anyone had this issue?This really sucks, I'm going to have to take this to VZ store near my house, if anything would they replace it with a new phone or a refurb?

May 29, 2010I installednexbeast and I love it... only problem when pressing the power button nothing happens.... if I hold it down I get the power off menu but no sleep for just pushing it.... dug through all settings and couldn't find anything...

Mar 21, 2010I'm new here. I just got my droid yesterday. I looked threw the forums and I see people asking for apps that change how the slide works. Im okay with the sliding I just cant stand hitting the power button to turn on the phone. I wanted to know if theres a app test disables the need to hit the power button so all I have to do is slide my finger across the screen and it turns on? Sorry if somebody posted this I did look for the answer but I didn't see one.

Apr 21, 2010I tried searching for this but couldn't find a thread that discussed it. My power button appears as though its been jammed. I dropped my phone on its corner where the power button is but I don't think thats what the problem is. Anyhow, recently my power button responds but I have to really press it hard and it as though the button is jammed cause it doesn't depress as far.
My question is that is there a way to designate the camera button to become the power button? I know on some phones you can make different buttons do different things and I was curious if this was possible on the Droid.
Motorola Droid :: Phone Broke During Update / What To Do?
Aug 19, 2010I received notification this morning that my phone was ready for an update! Unfortunately after the update rebooted the phone it stopped at the Moto symbol and would not go any further. Called verizon and walked throught he normal battery pull and factory reset to no avail. The only answer they had was to send me a replacement phone which will be here to tomorrow. Bummer it broke but good customer service softened the issue.

Oct 3, 2010Im sending in my droid to verizon since my power button was not working and they sent me a replacement. Before I sent it in I wanted to remove root so I went into rom manager and chose a stock image to flash hoping it would do the job. Unfortunately, after I did it Superuser permission is still there. I would just use RSD Lite but since I cant get my phone to access the boot loader screen I cant get RSD Lite to recognize my phone. I was going to try to flash the older stock image from rom manager thinking maybe that would work but now when I try and flash any rom through rom manager I get this message; "an error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands". I also read that maybe quick boot would do the trick but it just force closes every time, making me think that maybe the phone isnt rooted but just has superuser permission listed(is that possible)? Is my phone still rooted?

Feb 28, 2010I've had my droid for about a week now and about two days ago the power button stopped working and is now completly unresponsive.I can't power off the phone without taking out the battery. Good thing that sliding the keyboard out wakes the screen so I can unlock it.I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this problem or is it possible this is just a defect and I should get a replacement also I have tried doing the factory reset to see if it was some app I may have installed causing the problem but its still not working.

Aug 15, 2010Just last week I finally rooted my Motorola Droid (thanks for the help)! All was good until today when I woke up and the power button didn't work.It was intermittently working this afternoon, and now it does nothing.I was ready to unroot the phone so I could take it back to Verizon when I realized that I can't get into the bootloader screen without the power button.I tried holding the D-pad up while reinstalling the battery and I also tried the camera and volume down buttons while reinstalling the battery.The battery removal and reinstall just doesn't seem to be working to put it into the bootloader screen.

HTC Droid : Power - Sleep Button Recessed Than Phone / Talk On Eris
Feb 14, 2010Anybody out there see what I'm seeing? It seems as if the power/sleep button is a bit more recessed than the phone/talk button that pops out a little more. Could this just be from heavier use since I am always hitting the sleep button after phone use? Or, is this a HTC design to prevent you from hitting the button as easily. Not really a huge difference here just enough to feel if you run your finger over both of them. Wondering if it will get lower over time? Good ol' ocd flaring up again.

I thought maybe this was a Spare Parts issue, since I had changed the Power Button behavior on 1.5 using Spare Parts (when I pressed Power from any screen, it would return me Home; pressing from Home would Lock). So, I uninstalled Spare Parts, but this didn't remedy my problem. Any advice?

Nov 8, 2010First one broke 2 weeks ago I don't know what from but I've never dropped the phone with the case on and next thing I know I took it out of my pocket and the face plate was broken in the top right corner.This evening as I was walking home with my phone and case on it that I just got replaced about 5 days ago I dropped my phone screen down first, I thought it was done. Luckily it was safe though again the face plate is broken on my case.
I'm getting yet another replacement from Otterbox which is good..Really wish I could get a refund or voucher to use on their site for the cost of the case.
