I have found that most websites I look at (Australian career search sites) do not translate very well to the Desire. Anyone got any suggestions ?

As the title says, where can i find small application creation jobs for Android.
Please don't tell me 'freelancer' because I have already checked there.
I am developing a ToDo reminder type of app for android. on creation of a new reminder an alarm and vibrator scheduler is created with a toast. This works on intents and broadcasts and is pretty straight forward stuff with putextras using the reminder id from the db. My problem is, if some one restart the phone, i guess all the scheduled alarm and vibrator tasks for the reminder will be killed. Once the phone restart again how to recreate the scheduler tasks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed VoiceSearch_2.1 and HTC_IME mod successfully. The voice to text works great! However I can't seem to make the Phone Call functionality work. When I long press the search button and use the command "Call <name>" where <name> is someone in my list of contacts (People) e.g. "Call Home" it recognises the words correctly but all it does is bring up a result screen from a Google Web Search. Am I doing something stupid?

Now, after theming, the search button does nothing from the homescreen, but does still work while in applications, the browser, the market, etc. I am running launcher pro, deodexed w/ revolution.

I installed gesture search last night and now one of my few gripes with the phone is solved. I hated having to having to hold the options button to bring up a keyboard and then having to clear my last entry to start another search.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo heres a random problem that started happening recently I used to be able to reboot my phone and it would work fine again, now I'm SOL. So my mic doesn't work when I make/recieve calls unless I turn on speakerphone. No one can hear me unless its in speaker mode. If I do a voice search, voice record, etc, nothing happens. The only way I can talk on my phone is if I'm on speaker phone. I've rebooted, tried inserting headphones into the headset jack and removing, etc. I guess my final step is to factory reset and see if that fixes it. Are there any known solutions? I did NOT change any configuration. Oh, and I should throw out there, that once in a blue moon it DOES work on regular phone. This is totally random.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen the phone is locked, but the screen is on, if you hold down the search button for a couple of seconds and then say something, the voice search will run. when you unlock the phone, you will see the results. when the screen is off however, it doesn't work. it only happens with the screen on and the phone locked. i thought that none of the buttons should work when the phone is locked?

Any suggestions? (Love the phones by the way!) OH!!! And, bought the Seido 3500 mah battery. it really is not that big, fits in my hand nicely. I will let you know how it lasts. charged last night and still strong today. But I will keep updated.

There are some questions:
I have all my contact and calendar info in Outlook 2003 and not in any online account. So I will only sync the phone with PC.
- can Outlook Contact fields like birthday and notes sync to People in the phone?
- user manual said I can search on Last Name, First Name in People. Can I search in the notes field?
- can I search for events in the Calendar? If so, can it search the whole database, or just up to X number of years in the past?
Recently updated my Desire to Froyo, and it seems I can no longer "search for mail on Server" when looking for email on our exchange server.Is there some new setting that i need to enable, or have the powers-that-be decided that being able to search for mail on a remote server is not a valid tool for a mobile device.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSomething fishy is going on with her phone. On the home screen when the back key is pressed it brings up the Quick Search. OK, that's no big deal. Not the end of the world.When you navigate through regular menus like Settings the back key works fine. But if, for example, you go to Contacts, Open a contact, tap the address to show it on a map, click on the map to see Street View, you would expect that the back key would back-track you through all of those steps right back to the home screen. But it doesn't. The Quick Search keeps popping up instead and it's quite a job to get back to the home screen.Reboot doesn't change that.Anyone else seen this or has any ideas? It can't be a dodgy button because the navigation works as expected in other circumstances.

However it never gets anything right and it's embarrassing to use in public and pretty useless, and it uses about 2.6MB of the tiny internal storage of the phone. So I tried removing it, but it doesn't even seem to be possible. There's just an option to remove updates. Do I have to wipe the phone completely to get rid of it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently using Dolphin HD on my desire. When using the soft search button is there anyway of changing it to search via Google.co.UK and not Google.com. Its really annoying when your search results are all for American sites. The stock desire browser uses co.UK but I much prefer Dolphin HD.

I'm currently using dolphin hd and when using the search button it uses Google.com instead of Google.co.UK. thus giving American websites in results instead of .co.UK ones.
