View 18 Replies View Relatedthis is going to be a really weird question but i just got my aria and it was so soft when i bought it and it seams like that soft touch coating is just wearing off now...so...do you think there is anyway possible to buy some more coating and just bathe my phone in it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have little spots on my screen. They aren't dead pixels and they can't be cleaned off. It looks like they are like little spots of residue left over from the screen protector that was on the phone when you buy it. But they don't come off. They're only noticeable when the background is white.
Second, the keyboard is wavy. It's like the rows of the keyboard go up and down, almost like the keyboard didn't fit well in the area it's supposed to go. So the spaces between the rows are lifting up a bit and creating a wavy keyboard. This isn't really much of an issue, but just curious if other people see this as well.
This past weekend I was cleaning something with chlorine and accidentally let a big drop of it land in the middle of the phone screen. Long story short, I could not see to it until I was done with my cleaning project. By then the splash on the screen dried up and became whitish. I tried to rub it off, it was leaving residue, so I used 90% alcohol to clean the screen. The screen came out spotless, but now I feel it is getting more fingerprints than usual and they no longer come off after a quick easy wipe with my shirt sleeve - they require some rigorous rubbing now. Did I destroy the oleophobic coating?

After i go in recovery mode i go in button "wipe all data" and after " yes - wipe data for all users"
Now when i turn on my mobile (power button) i get only black screen, nothing alse.
My phone is not rooted, now i can't acces to recovery mode.
My galaxy S2 fell and my digitizer is apparently non-working - I can see the screen sort of, but there is no touch response.
Anyway, I can't let just about anyone who I take it to have access to my data, since my contacts are stored on the google cloud, I have them all anyway, but I either need to:
1. Access the phone via PC and wipe the data by emulating the screen on my PC.
I tried using Kies air to do it - it recognizes the phone, but I can't open it through it because my phone is locked and it won't give me access otherwise. Of course I can't unlock it since the digitizer is dead.
I tried using software like droid-at-screen, installing the proper SDK components, BUT the phone never got recognized. It is my deduction that I have to enable USB debugging, which, again, I can't do since I don't have the touch interface.
2. The other solution would be to wipe all data manually, which I assumed was done holding the 2 volume buttons + power button, but all that ever got me to was the lock screen along with a "safe mode" in the corner.
I want to clean up my SD card due to the fact that it has become rather full with all the flashing/nandroiding/rooting/etc. I was wondering if I could just wipe the SD card from the phone and everything will be ok or are there certain files that if I cannot delete. Obviously I would back up my SD card onto my computer before proceeding. Just wanted to get some feedback from someone who might have already done this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know I'm not the only one with this issue, but it looks like the red ear piece gets funked up pretty easily. At first I thought it was just a lint trap, but I think it might be a mix of lint and ear skin/oil. Has anyone found any ways to clean that out?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Evo Froyo 2.2 using unrevoked 3.2.1 I Installed Titanium and ROM Manger Premium and Wireless tether.2.0.5-pre9. Id like to flash the new OTA rooted myn-OTA_Supersonic_3.29.651.5-DEODEXED.zip ROM to get the better frame rate. I have never flashed before (not true, in the 70s in collegeerr, skip that) But I still have several unanswered questions.
1) I understand that even though this 3.29.651.5 is an upgraded ROM, I still have to flash it. If I were not rooted I could take the OTA upgrade from Sprint. So do I need to do a data wipe and wipe cache and dalvik cache using ROM Manger before I flash this new ROM version?
2) Someone told me I would use to Titanium Backup to backup all apps and settings, do a wipe, flash the rom, then restore using Titanium Backup If I do a wipe and then flash, and all apps are gone, how could I restore from Titanium? Isnt that gone too? Will restoring from Titanium also restore ROM Manager and the Wireless tether.2.0.5-pre9?
3) I also got this response, Also, don't forget to flash the new radios that came with the OTA Are these not included in the 3.29.651.5 rom? Do I have to hunt these up separately and flash them separately or with the 3.29.651.5 rom?
4) I have removed some bloatware programs such as NFL and NASCAR from the apps using Titanium. Ive read where some say they had to replace these to flash this update. Is that true? What happens if I flash and do not have those apps present?
As much as Ive read, I still see conflicting advice on how to proceed. When I read instructions on something, I usually see another post 5 or more down from someone else that then says, Oh dont forget to do So if anyone can help with these, Id appreciate it. I may develop new questions after this, but Ill be a step closer to having the answers and my first root.
I use my SD card often and like to keep movies in Movies folder, music in Music folder..etc..basically keep my data nicely organized for consumption later with approriate programs. But when I look in the SD card in windows, there are dozens of app created folders. Is there a way to make android create a Program Files like directory like windows so all app data can go into it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy memory is getting very low.I know about all the move to SD methods; I want to try and get rid of some unused data first.I always see posts about clear data and clear cache.Yes, this frees up space but do the apps actually need this data? What is the difference between data and cache? e.g.If I clear data from my contacts app, will all my contacts be deleted? What am I safe to clean up? Is there a way of cleaning up everything at once? Is there an equivalent to defrag and disc clean up? Any advice on getting some memory back without moving apps would be great.

The open source nature of Android has come back to bite Google, with what may be the first piece of malware finding its way onto the Android Market.
MemoryUp is supposedly designed to clean up the T-Mobile G1?s memory, but it?s being a bit too vigorous and wiping the internal memory of the G1 as well as the inserted SD card in some cases. One user, ?kr33p1n?, complains that it ?Doesn?t work at all erased my phone numbers and froze my phone,? and many others seem to be in agreement, with the program clocking up several hundred one star ratings already. So, a devious Windows Mobile, BlackBerry Storm or Palm Pre employee behind it? Or just some jerk cranking out cackhanded code? We don?t know, but all of a sudden, Apple?s closed App Store and opaque approval process seem very enticing.........
How clean up history on Android Market because too much list of history. Anyone do know how for that? if not know how then that ok.

A factory reset or wipe?
