this is going to be a really weird question but i just got my aria and it was so soft when i bought it and it seams like that soft touch coating is just wearing off now...so...do you think there is anyway possible to buy some more coating and just bathe my phone in it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis past weekend I was cleaning something with chlorine and accidentally let a big drop of it land in the middle of the phone screen. Long story short, I could not see to it until I was done with my cleaning project. By then the splash on the screen dried up and became whitish. I tried to rub it off, it was leaving residue, so I used 90% alcohol to clean the screen. The screen came out spotless, but now I feel it is getting more fingerprints than usual and they no longer come off after a quick easy wipe with my shirt sleeve - they require some rigorous rubbing now. Did I destroy the oleophobic coating?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to make highlighting of a row in a listview delayed if the user is simply scrolling the list with their finger? To clarify, when the user puts their finger down to scroll, the intersected row (if any) gets highlighted for a short moment, before it realizes the user is just trying to scroll (then the highlight turns off). It seems like the timeout is too short - iPhone has the same behavior, just seems that the timeout is longer to discern between a real row- select-touch, and just a scroll-touch. Any way to tweak this? You can see the behavior in any of the system apps that have lists..

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm really struggling between the EVO and the iphone 4.My HTC Touch Pro looked shiny when I bought it a year and a half ago, and now it feels obsolete. I can barely use it for more that texting/phone, far less than the device promised. In the time I've had it, there was one update which mostly just fixed bugs. And in my other pocket I have a first generation ipod touch that feels superior in every way, except the phone part.I have no confidence in HTC's ability to support it's products and improve them over time, Apple does do this, my ipod touch is better than when I bought it four years ago. But the EVO runs android and it looks like that is something that is going to develop over time.Will the device be able to rely on android in that way? I'm already seeing people suggest that HTC will lag behind android updates because they'll fail to update their android skins in a timely manner.Can the EVO run on just android if that UI experience turns out to be better than what HTC can offer?
My other primary concern is itunes syncing. I have dozens of 'smart playlists' that I've pretty carefully designed to change and improve with my listening habits, and all of my podcasts sync through itunes. Also, I've been using 'itunes U' to listen to full courses and my itunes is set up so that every time I sync my finished lectures are replaced with the next in the series.... So, I'm sure many of you have seen the EVO "tutorial" showing you how to load music onto the device, literally just dumping files onto the devices hard drive, that is effing laughable. Is there a reasonable way to sync and listen to music on the EVO?
I have a problem which is disable and enable scrollView by code. This is my layout which includes header, footer and scrollview. The scrollview contain imageView and MapView. I used scrollview to scroll image and MapView because height total of their larger than height of screen. I want to disable scrollview if I touch map and move in the map. And it is enable when I touch ImageView. So, I will listen even touch and move in the map to enable and disable scrollview.But I try to use setEnable and setHorizontalScrollBarEnabled,setVerticalScrollBar Enabled method to do it but not success.

sometimes i get a checkmark symbol right under the 3G or E on my Aria. i think it usually happens when i am connected to wi-fi, but there is no symbol like that in the manual saying what it is. if it's just for wi-fi, then thats kind of redundant since the wi-fi signal/symbol lets me know that

I called HTC and they dont have one available, but maybe I got the wrong rep? I called ATT and they were no help. There is an HD Mini (somewhat of the same phone) battery cover on eBay but it doesnt have the metal connections since the battery cover of an Aria is part of the antenna. Please help me find one! Even if I have to buy an extended battery (with battery cover) so be it. I just need my phone back.

The regular I want notifications the other not. I have downloaded the yahoo app. Is there anyway to have two yahoo apps. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of apps working using eclipse and the emulator. I now want to try the apps on my htc aria. I went through downloading the usb driver as the Android Developers documentations sans and a usb driver folder now shows up in my sdk folder. However, apparently there isn't a driver for the HTC aria in the folder.
After research some people suggested using htc sync. I donwloaded htc sync and let windows check that I had the latest version. However, my phone keeps saying that it can't find htc sync on my computer.
When I plug in my HTC aria, the device manager on my lap top recognizes two devices as listed below: My HTc under Android USB devices and a HTC Android Phone USB Device. I clicked on update driver for both devices, Windows found them on-line and verified that they were the latest. I dont understand why there are two drivers, but My HT seems to have a problem as listed below. One thing that I should mention is that I am using the dreaded VISTA.
Device Manager: Android USB Devices: My HTC Device status: Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

So, the best I can tell is that there isn't a driver from the normal Android repository for the htc aria yet. And, for some reason my computer can't handle the htc sync drivers.
Will there be a usb driver for the htc aria that I can download from Android Developers in the future? Has anyone else been able to get htc sync to work with the htc aria? Is there anohter way to transfer my apps to the phone for development?
I guess that I can always use the ddms environment and transfer the app, but I really wanted a more graceful way to do this.
I'm thinking of getting the aria as a "weekend" phone in addition to my blackberry that I use mainly for work. Would everything work fine if I just take the sim out of my BB and put into the aria?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my HTC Aria for less than 4 days and handed it to some girl and she dropped it. Well the glass screen shattered and I was curious if there is anywhere I can get a replacement for it yet? Incase anyone is curious about the drop it occured from less than 2 feet off the ground. I was in a booth when she handed me the phone and she let go of it before my hand was near. The top left corner was where the impact first hit, and is where the majority of the screen is cracked.
