HTC 4G :: Need Rooted EVO App Removal

Sep 26, 2010

My EVO is rooted and I have been searching for an updated list of apps that are safe to remove but haven't been able to find anything recent. Those that I have found contradict each other as to which apps are safe to remove. I would like to remove the following apps: BluetoothShare, CarPanel, FM Radio, FootPrints, News, Peep, RSS Reader, Stocks, and Weather. If anyone has removed these without any ill effects I would like to know.

HTC EVO 4G :: Exchange ActiveSync Pin Removal For 2.2

Nov 19, 2010

Is there an email.apk or alternate method of removing the security pin/pattern lock that's forced when you configure Exchange ActiveSync in Froyo? I found something on XDA, but it was earlier in the year and i believe it was only for 2.1. LockPicker is only for 2.1 also. I'm rooted running Myn's RLS3 ROM if that information is needed...

HTC Incredible :: Command Line For Ota Removal?

Jul 26, 2010

Trying to revert my Dinc to before the ota update. I'm trying to get the code entered in the command window before running the PB31IMG.zip file and have run into a snag that, being, I don't know much about the using command window. (adb push flash_image /data)(adb push mtd0.img /dat. Both go through fine, but when I type: (adb shell) and press enter my next line of code starts w/ :(~#) upon my typing (chmod 777 /data/flash_image) I get: (~#) again. Quick question: 1. Is the (~# ) correct and if not how do I get past it to enter the remaining code? 2. Do I just continue to type the remaining code after the (~#)? 3. After rebooting, what volume do I type the (fastboot devices after? C: or C:sdkools? I obviously don't know much, if anything, about using the command window.

HTC EVO 4G :: Clean Up Widget Menu After Removal?

Sep 27, 2010

My apologies for all the questions lately but after removing those widgets I no longer use from my EVO I've noticed that when long pressing on a screen and selecting widgets the menu shows those widgets tht were there as this:ff000000, #ffccccc, 0.0dip, 100.0dip, 200, 300, false, etc. My questions is how do I clean up this menu so it no longer shows the non existant widget? A factory reset or wipe?

Just picked up a Fascinate for my wife and as we all know it's infested with Bing (until the 2.2 update). I have installed google search etc and its mostly running like her Eris was BUT the car home app that pops up when you place the phone in the car mount is the Samsung Bing app. The icons point to VZ navigator etc and she is like WTF I can't get the nav to work. Anyone know the easiest way (here come the "root the phone man....." comments) to disable the car home or replace it will the stock google one?

HTC Desire :: Unrevoked Root Removal - Possibe

Aug 22, 2010

I recently recieved a replacement desire following an claim. Once out of the box i realised that this was vodafone branded (my original showed no branding). I was a bit pi**ed off with this so decided to have a go at rooting the thing. I used unrevoked3 and clockwork mod but due to this being 2.1 firmware found that I was unable to change the rom. I would now like to unroot my desire as it has seemingly developed a fault and repeatedly reboots, so I may have to send back. This developed some 10 days after the root so don't think this is the cause. I also did a factory reset and the problem still occurs.

HTC EVO 4G :: Touch Screen - After Root/bloatware Removal

Sep 6, 2010

I recently rooted my phone and removed some bloatware (all backed up btw) mainly the ones on the safe list in the thread posted about it here. I don't know if that is what is causing the following problem, but just to preface that if so.

I noticed it yesterday when I was trying to type something using swype, when I finished letting go the screen started to randomly tap and drag letters without me even touching it. I stopped had to turn the screen off/on to get it to stop. I also notice that if I hold the phone vertically and move it around a bit it starts to drag the home screens back and forth. Also when I am at the phone menu it's hard to tap the exact number I want. If I tap 5 say, it will randomly either tap 5 or 8. It's liek it's not calibrated.

So I go to the display to calibrate it and it kind of sort of alleviates some of the other issues, but I still have inaccurate touces. Is it a program I removed perhaps from htc that is necessary for the screen.

I'm thinking of unrooting and doing a stock RUU for evo, but I primarily want all the sprint garbage apps off, is it possible to remove all that through adb on an unrooted phone?

If this is an issue with my droid only then I need to get a replacement but if not, I'll just handle it and figure its a known issue thats being looked at.

Motorola Milestone :: Music Player And Headphone Removal

Aug 25, 2010

Potentially related to the Music Player exiting when I try to go "Home" or start up other apps. Anyway, let's say I'm using my headphones to talk to someone on the phone. The call ends and I take my headphones off and unplug them from the phone. Well, a podcast will begin playing in the Music Player!!! It may not even be the last one I was listening to.

Is there ever an update to this player? It's not very good and seems uncontrollable at times. Any substitutes that can be set as default players? I want to like this phone but there are SO MANY annoying glitches and non-obvious (to me, anyway) solutions that I'm definitely second-guessing my purchase.
