General :: Moving From WebOS To Android?

May 6, 2010

I'm new here! I've benne a palm Pre user for months (I still own it) but the experience was not painless, mainly due to the fact that the product is not supported in my country (Italy) and thus I have non access to paid Apps...

But then, my wife gave me a really nice gift: a brand new HTC Desire!

I've used it for a week now, and I'm totally sold to it.

Now, the problem is: I'd like to migrate all my personal data from my Pre to the Desire.

I had no problem with contacts and calendar (Google!) but I have no clue on how to transfer the rest of my stuff, and if it's possible or not.

I'm referring to:

* old SMS
* Memos
* Tasks

Android :: Best Approach To Port Application To Windows?

Aug 18, 2010

I used Eclipse with the Android SDK to develop the original application. I ask since this was my first Java (and Eclipse, and Android, and XML) project. I assume that most of the Java should run on the PC without too much trouble. I may want to restructure the code to isolate the Android specific functions. Should I stay with Eclipse or move to something like NetBeans?

Android :: Do Android / WebOS Devices Support Multi-touch Javascript Events?

Mar 17, 2010

On iPhone, iPod touch and (presumably) iPad, Apple has multi-touch event handling available via JavaScript in Mobile Safari. I know the Nexus One recently added multi-touch support via an update, and I believe webOS is also multi-touch enabled. Do Android 2.1 and/or webOS have access to multi-touch in the browser, or is this currently exclusive to Apple devices?

Android :: Confused In Choice ( WebOS / BADA And Iphone) Vs Android

Aug 6, 2010

So I was doing this comparative study between the application security model between android and now I need a benchmark for it to compete against. The problem though is I am pretty new to mobile application development and barely know the names and probably used a phone or two in the process with each of the OSes. Now the dilemma I am in is, which OS should I pitt against the Andorid to compete with for a security model study. At most I can pick two because I literally will not have the time to complete developing applications for all the Operating Systems in the market to do a comparative study.Which one would be the best choices according to you? (Please elaborate as to why its a worthy competitor).

General :: How To Port 2D PC Games To Android

Mar 30, 2014

I want to port "Desperados Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Robin Hood the Legend of Sherwood" (two of my all time fav pc games) to Android. I used to spend so much time playing these games when I was a lil kid. Amazing games. Dont understand why they havent yet been ported to Android. I reckon they would sell a few millions on the GPlay if the pricing was right. (Profit guaranteed) I would definitely buy them if they were available on the GPlay. Anyway since they are not and probably never will, I am trying to find out how to port these games to android. Since they both are 2D point and click games they would be perfect to play on the android platform and also much easier to port to android than 3D pc games.

Sprint HTC Hero : Windows Drive Mounting - Reintroduce My Phone To The Windows Box

May 21, 2010

I have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.

Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?

Jan 14, 2013

Currently I'm trying to port several modules on a non-native android device (Beagleboard XM). I'm syncing my sources from rowboat. However, I came across this problem which had me stuck for more than a week. How do I compile modules into a .ko file? Whenever I try to compile the modules, it would be listed as .o, e.g. for a wireless driver I am working on, i would get RT2800USB.o instead of RT2800USB.ko that I need.
