i can't install any rom on my desire hd , the phone won't to rooted , won't to downgrade, won't to go on s-off i tried all things .i tried now an official rom , it won't install it and give error 155 and 170
my Dhd is on 2.2 with a plenty of bugs and hope do upgrade to 2.3.5 or higher

I am having trouble playing YouTube videos on the application and the website. It will play about half the video and then it says there was an error and it just stops. It does it on the market app and when using the browser. Does it on WiFi and 3g. I've true hard rests reinstalling to no avail. It pretty bad I have to use my wifes hero to watch YouTube videos. Anyone know whats going on? I can play short videos like under 5 minutes ok but any longer and its like the phone stops downloading and when the video catches up to that point I get error. I am still in my 30 day window so is it my phone or is everyone having problems? Thanks
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo i recently rooted my incredible and using rom manager i downloaded the skyraider 3.0 rc3 rom. This rom is really nice but the downside to it is that my navigation doesnt work. I search for directions and it stays on the screen saying "searching for gps" or somethin like that. what could i do to fix this without having to get rid of the rom(btw i already tried pulling the battery and techniques like that)next my sd card seems to have problems now. Whenever i want to download an app on the market, it says theres not enough space and whenever i want to download a rom from rom manager it starts to say download error. should i completely wipe my sd card and is that a bad idea because isnt the rom and all the root stuff of my phone on the sd card? please!

My handset crashed for some reason and would not boot, so I figured while I had my hard cover pried off to pull the battery, I would give Z4Root a shot. Ironically, it worked without me having to pull my battery. Anyway, as I said, Z4Root worked great, but I after I installed ROM Manager, it keeps giving me an error about not being able to flash the recovery image. Am I doing something wrong here?
View 36 Replies View RelatedWith a free sunday at my disposal, i thought i would try and sort my hero out as it has become super-laggy after the OTA 2.1 update (HTC hero locked to 3UK network, previously had 1.5).
So i've been trying to read as much as i can on this and other forums and got as far as installing Universal Androot, which reported success in rooting the phone.
However have now installed (and bought PRO ver) of Titanium Backup which refuses to recognize the root. It returns:
ERROR: Sorry, I could not acquire root privileges. This application will *not* work! Please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes BusyBox, and try again.
Yet, TB is listed as 'allowed' under SuperUser Permissions. And even weirder when the error dialogue box comes up sometimes a strapline flashes briefly across the screen 'Titanium backup has been granted .. permissions'. I take it that this is Superuser informing me.
So why doesn't Titanium recognize the root? Have tried re-starting and rerunning Androot (which reports that phone is already rooted, do you still wish to proceed). It's almost as if superuser isn't giving the OK fast enough or something.
Obviously don't want to start messing around with ROMs if i can't first backup my data!
I have a rooted mytouch 4g slide phone that seems to work fine but when I try to use certain apps that require root (for example "extended power menu") it doesn't work. here is a quick video : [URL]
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen installing certain custom ROMs on rooted Android smartphones or tablets, you will encounter Status 7″ error issues once in awhile with ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery.Status 7 error is caused while the ROM's updater script file checks to see if the phone model of your phone is compatible with the ROM you are installing, called asserts.
Asserts is a safety mechanism so you don't accidentally install another phone model ROM on your phone. E.g. You tried to install Galaxy S2 ROM on a Galaxy S3 and ending up hard-bricking your phone but you got Status 7 error which saved you.this safety mechanism is great but there are times where even if you have the correct ROM for your phone, you will get Status 7 error.
This is due to an error by the developer of the ROM in the updater script, causing havoc, making people install another custom recovery like TWRP recovery for no reason. You can fix the issue by installing TWRP recovery but if you need to restore your CWM backups later down the line, you will have to re-install CWM recovery, causing a big hassle.
Also, if you update to the latest CWM Recovery using ROM Manager, usually this problem is fixed.But what if you did update to the latest CWM Recovery and still happens? And yes, it does happen even when you update your CWM recovery.
If you simply don't want to change your recovery (because if it ain't broke, don't fix it) or you still get Status 7 error after changing recovery, you can simply edit the updater script yourself to get rid of the asserts.All you need is a computer and a zipping program! (You might be able to even do it on your Android device with AndroZip and text editor but I haven't tried yet.) MAKE SURE THE ROM YOU ARE INSTALLING IS COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR ANDROID DEVICE AS INSTALLING WRONG ROM CAN BRICK YOUR DEVICE!
Make sure if you are installing a ROM on AT&T Galaxy S3, the ROM zip file you downloaded is for AT&T Galaxy S3 not for Verizon Galaxy S3.
Step 1. Copy the ROM zip file to your computer and extract it using your favorite unzipping software.
Step 2. Once unzipped, browse to the META-INF/com/Google/android directory. You will find two files called update-binary and updater-script.
Step 3. Rename updater-script to updater-script.txt and open with your favorite text file editor.
Step 4. Get rid of the line starting with assert to next semi-colon. Usually this is the first line or one of the first lines at the top of the text file. Just delete them.
Step 5. Save file.
Step 6. Rename updater-script.txt back to updater-script.
Step 7. Rezip all the files yo've unzipped.
Step 8. Copy the new, edited zip file to your phone.
Step 9. Try re-installing ROM, now it should install fine without Status 7 error.
I was wondering if it is possible to give the HTC Hero a network name. For example when i look at my routers status it lists all connected devices. My-PC, Sister-PC ect... and the MAC address of each device, as it should.
However the HTC Hero name field is left blank. I know it is the Hero seeing as the MAC matches the device. Does anyone know if it's possible to give the phone a network name?

I recently tried to root my HTC desire using UNrevoked 3.1. Everything was going well and I even had the desktop gui tell me that the process was "done", however the phone never made it into the green and black recovery menu, and now when I try and enter the recovery menu the phone gives a black screen. I then have to do a hard reset by taking out the battery. I have tried running unrevoked again with the same results and have tried using Rom manager to enter recovery this way, niether of which have helped.
I've spent alot of time searching without answers, if any one thinks they can help or just point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new droid incredible (my first phone besides the crapy razer) and my friends told me to root it. I used the guides on these fourms, rooted it, and apparently it worked (I have superuser and can download root only apps). The only problem is that everywere, it says recover once you root. Every time I've tried this, it just leads to a black screen with two white lights on each side. I've tried everything to fix it; I've looked at multiple threads and youtube vids, I even found an app that should sent it into Clockwork recovery mod, but even then it still had the problem. Does anyone know how to fix this, or should I just try un-rooting it (maby I did something wrong and it dosent say) and re-rooting it again?

If you go to the play store website and search "super download," you get no results. its as if the app dont exist.

Why I can't get all webpages to give me a preview in the Chrome bookmarks widget?
I even have to bookmarks on the same website, just a link to 2 different forums...one shows up, one doesn't. Cant get the mobile or desktop version of espn to show up. Almost none of my desktop bookmarks showed up so i made some mobile ones and only about half show up. I've rebooted my launcher restarted chrome, restarted the phone etc etc.
Haven't found another widget where all thumbnails show up either, at least htat will work on ics/chrome.
GS3 running Apex launcher if that matters.

I of course am going to get the new phone and I am going to give her my current Brand new Galaxy S3, which is only like 2 weeks old (2 weeks and 1 day to be exact). and I am just gonna hook myself up on the new line and give her mine. My question is, can you hook up phones that are rooted/Rom'd. I believe you can, cause I hooked up my buddies phone temporarily a week or so ago, and it was a LG Revo with the Gingervolt ROM on it. and they gave me a new SIM card, hooked it up and i was ready to go. So I don't think their should be an issue.
and yes I know this has been discussed over and over, but Galaxy Note 3 or LG G2 ? They are both amazing. But I want the one that has the best Dev work on it. and I do like the size of the Note 3. But I heard the LG G2 has a bit of a better camera, but I am not a huge photo taker, mostly just at parties, and when I am playing shows with my band I will have my GF take pics with my S3, and they turn out perfect. so I don't think that's a deal breaker for me.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a new 2014 Chevy Sonic and I have paired my Huawei H881C to the car stereo. Once for "Phone" and once for "Music". Right now I can play the car radio music OR press a button on the car stereo that says "Media" and select "Bluetooth" which turns the car radio music off and lets the GPS voice directions come through the car stereo speakers but no music. I can't have both, the car radio music and GPS voice directions at the same time. Seems like the music volume should mute while the GPS directions are given then return to the previous volume and continue playing the music I had going. Instead it's "either or". ?

1. I rooted my 2 HTC Desires 2 months ago, what went fine. Have been able to install apps that request root. And on 1 Desire I have put the Nexus1 Froyo OS.
2. Now when receive a OTA: error
3. I tried the manual update: error
Both phones came from HTC directly, any Sim Card is useable on them.
I first get the error "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command", then I get:
"Verifying update package
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted."
I have a HTC Desire Bravo C I rooted it with clockwork mod and I went into the boot loader and clicked wipe data/factory reset I didn't know what it meant but now I cant turn on my phone! I can still load the boot loader menu and access restore..when I try to restore from a backup via the recovery menu it says the fallowing
-Restoring Data android_secure.img not found. Skipping restore of /sdcard/.android_secure.
-Restoring Cache sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext/.
-Restore Complete! I power it off then it puts me right back into bootloader.
Here's what I get from my phone status. I flashed back to stock and still not working.
