MY messages ARE IMPORTANT, But I cannot unlock phone because of my brother that did too much pattern tries. Then Google account appeared telling me to input my gmail and password but i cannot open it maybe because of my wifi is turned off. how to backup my sms messages even if its locked.

Menu -> Settings -> Accounts -> Phone (Backup Assistant) Padlocked? Mine is locked. Is anyone else's? I saw a thread where someone belived it happened at the Verizon Store when they synced the phone for the end user. Just like they did for me with no explanations.Could this be why contacts created on my phone seem to be invisible to all kinds of syncing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI changed my main Google/gmail account recently, and decided to update my Hero, but having cleared the data from Google Apps (in Manage Applications) I now can't connect my new account due to the problems described here and here. I'm pretty much resigned to doing a factory reset (annoying though), but is there any way I can back up SMS messages? Some data I can extract from the SD Card, but I can't install anything to backup SMS as I'm unable to install anything from the market. So if anyone has any info on either of these issues I'd be really grateful - I'd either like to avoid having to do a reset, or find some way of backing-up without having access to the market.

Seems silly that anyone could read your messages even if the phone is locked.
Droid X - Configured with a Google Apps Premiere, working great. Attempting to add a personal GMail account. Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

I did password reset from my cell.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a new phone, and both it and my old one show up on Google Play, with the tabs showing the respective apps installed.The old one is rooted, and I want to let my son use it on his own GMail ID. I've no problem resetting it or loading a completely new ROM.
Is there a proper procedure for dissociating it from my GMail ID and adding it to his. I have a suspicion that if I just change the associated email address in the Google Play settings on the phone, it will still appear on my list of devices.
This is what happened to me, I haven't installed anything special recently... What could have caused that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI haven't used this phone (Sprint Samsung epic 4g touch) ever since I bought an iPhone 5. (yes I know, don't judge) and I lent it to a cousin and it got stolen. Now I want to know if there's a way to know if someone else is using the phone with my google account. I went into the play store online and downloaded some apps and apparently they installed but when I check my devices it says last activity over a few weeks ago.
So I really don't care that it's stolen, I just don't want anyone accessing my google account and email. Is a password change enough to block anyone using the phone with my google account?
my Android device: Everytime I add a new contact it's randomly saved to one of my two Google accounts that are synched with my phone, but I want it to be saved directly(locally) to the phone. I've browsed through all the settings menus but couldn't find a solution.

Up until November 2011 I had an older model Motorola Droid X. I was able to take photos using the phone camera and those photos would automatically sync with my Google accounts and could be accessed by Google+, Blogger, etc. All was well and I was happy.
In November 2011, I fried my Droid X when I spilled Gatorade on it and it was immediately replaced with a HTC Droid Incredible 2. I just downloaded Google+ (over six months after replacement) and the photos that I take NOW, sync just fine. But the photos that I took during the last 6-months did not synch up with my Google accounts.
Is there any way to synch the photos taken during the 6-month period that I did not have Google+ installed to be included in the Instant Upload?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two gmail accounts, each with their own Google Voice account. Account 1 is my primary account, and I have even ported my phone number to this account. I'm using this account on my phone (nexus 5), and have 0 issues with this account. All texts, voicemails, etc come through with no issues. Account 2 is largely not used. I would like to use account 2 on my nexus 7, for texts, and maybe making calls if I don't want to give out my real number to someone.
My issue is when I'm logged in to account 2 on my nexus 7, I'm getting text notifications for account 1 on my nexus 7. But if I were to open Google Voice on the nexus 7, once GV refreshes, the texts disappear. It doesn't happen the other way around. If I get a text/vm to account 2, it does not notify my phone, which is logged in to account 1.
I've checked the settings in both GV accounts, and neither account is linked to the other, or to send copies of texts/vm notifications to the other. How do I stop notifications from GV account 1 to stop displaying on account 2? I have cleared cache, data, uninstalled the app. The only thing i have not done, is a reset of the nexus 7.
I was initially logged in to account 1 on my nexus 7, but I would have thought removing the app from the device would have essentially erased all traces of the account 1 on the nexus 7. I even signed out of hangouts, to make sure Google was not treating this like my phone, and sending it both places.
I regretted moving to android from iOS. Here's my problem , after i accidentally remove google account from my phone and after i re-added my google account back to the phone , my phone keep redownload deleted apps . I tried to disable google sync like google drive and data and samsung backup and even disabled backup on my phone but its still not working. I also tried to go play store but i can't find anythings thats related to the problem .I deleted the deleted apps 5 times but after i deleted it , my phone keep redownload it back from play store. Im using Samsung S4 i9500 and I'm running latest firmware android kit lat 4.4.2 and no root.
I would like to do a whole backup of the phone and messages, apps, music etc.
I see that on the phone there is an option to do Auto backup to the SD card, which I have just ticked. My question on is is that..how long does it take to backup, and when does this happen? As I have had no messages to tell me if this is working.
Also, is there a way to manually backup the same data, using an app or something like that?
I'm looking around for a textmessage app that allows me to send/recieve texts (like the default app) but also allows me to backup and store (maybe online) my messages.
For example:If I would buy a new phone, I just needed to redownload the app and restore my texts.
Is something like this available in the Play Store or not?I've looked around but the only things I could find were textmessage apps with some added fuctionality (fancy design and emoji-stuff), so not really the thing I'm looking for.
I have my Epic setup to poll my corporate POP3 mail server every 10 minutes.When I arrived at work this morning I changed the polling to "Never" on my Epic, and opened Outlook on my PC.I received an error indicating the the POP3 server was locked by another session.I turned off my Epic and a minute or so later, Outlook was able to successfully connect.How can this be avoided? Am I not completely closing out of the Email session on my Epic?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have made a huge mistake on my Htc Tattoo, what i have done, is that when you are trying to open the phone, you should type a pattern, but then i made a pattern wich i couldn't remember, that resulted in that when i tried to open my phone, i should type my Google Account, but when i did this, my phone still wouldn't open.The question i would ask you guys about now, is:Is there any way that i can take a backup of my phone, eventhough it's closed (like i could acces it from the computer or something?), of all the apps, of all my phone settings and all the other things that i have made on it?
If this was an option, i would reset my phone, and then download the settings over to the phone again, so really need you help to this, thanks!

Steps to reproduce the problem:
- plug in headset
- lock screen
- press headset button for several seconds
What happened:
- No reaction, Google Now / Voice Actions not launched
- Manually unlock screen
- Long press with unlocked screen correctly launches Voice Search
What you think the correct behaviour should be:
Long press of headset button should launch Google Now / Voice Actions even with locked screen. Having to dig the phone out of your pocket in order to launch Voice Actions with a headset e.g. to place a call kinda defeats the purpose of using Voice Actions in the first place.
Adding insult to injury: long press is not broadcast to other applications because of Google Now, so it can't even be put to good use e.g. as volume control.

I changed ROM on my phone and when restoring the messages (SMS) with Titanium Backup it didn't work. Well this was not the end of the world but I had some numbers in one SMS that I would really want.
Is it possible to open one of the Titanium Backup files on a computer and read the SMS content there?
how google accounts work. I got a phone previously owned by a family member and all his contacts are still in the phone. I was wondering if it is possible to delete all the contacts on the phone but not affect his google account contacts? Also, if i reformat the phone, will this delete all his google contacts?

I was told that any text message sent to me that is larger than the standard 160 characters, would be split up into two or more messages. This is not happening on my phone, and I'm wondering if this is an OS problem, phone problem, or if I just need to call Verizon to have them investigate?
I have gotten several texts that were cut off, never to receive the rest of the message.Also, is there a way to have text messages forwarded to an email address as a backup?

However, if I open the messages icon that comes with the phone, then I can still view all the messages without putting in the password. Does anyone know how to delete or disable the messages program that comes with the phone?
