I changed my unlock pattern and forgot the combination. I forgot the password to my gmail account so I had it reset. My password is correct when entering on my computer but comes up as incorrect when entering it on my HTC Desire.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to sync my phone contacts with the gmail account. I read several threads from this forum and tried to change from phone contacts to google contacts instead. However, nothing happen when I manually sync. The icon rotating indicated that sync was in process. Afterward, I checked on my gmail's contacts, nothing change. No contact has phone number. I even tried to create some dummy contacts but not work either.

I saw a thread where someone belived it happened at the Verizon Store when they synced the phone for the end user. Just like they did for me with no explanations.Could this be why contacts created on my phone seem to be invisible to all kinds of syncing?

Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have about 300-odd contacts on my Gmail account - most, if not all, have no telephone number information on them, but I am guessing they still get copied over to the phone? Such that I will have a contact card on the phone that has no number, just an email? I don't email that much from my phone, so it seems pointless having most of these "email only" contacts on my phone. Secondly, a number of these contacts are named by email address i.e. some contact names appear as "doug1986" simply because Gmail has taken it from the email address doug1986@whatever.com. I really rather not have these synced across tot he mobile as they are old addresses (which I still dont want to delete).

It takes all the emails from my home account as well as showing emails from my new gmail address. However, when it takes emails from my home account it doesn't leave a copy in that account. I like gmail dragging in emails from my home account but I also like having the emails in my home account too. I have tried to find the answer on both gmail and my home account settings but can't get to the bottom of it. Does anyone know how to drag emails into my gmail account but keep a copy in the original account?
Any help gratefully received.

Obviously some clearly legit apps there but has anyone heard of any problems. It also neatly coincided with google asking me for my phone number as a backup in case i forget my password. Defo legit as that pop up came through secure google login.
When I tried to remove (settings->accounts & sync) the gmail account that was used during the initial phone setup, it prompted this message -> Remove account. This account is required by some applications. You can only delete it by resetting the phone to factory defaults. I would like to change it to another gmail account. Is such a drastic move (reset to factory default) necessary? Any workaround?

I also synced my new account in gmail, but cant delete the original account without master resetting the phone and I ain't prepared to lose all my personal settings and info.

If the phone is unlocked and on, ie when using it I can receive calls. why phone does not take calls when locked??

My phone is totally unbranded, so I'm wondering if it will let me install 2.2 manually without the need for a goldcard and all the messing about. is there an easy way to check ? View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had an unlocked HTC Desire on Three for a couple of months and it's all up-to-date - running on Froyo and updated again just this morning. Yesterday the phone dropped off Three and roamed onto Orange which isn't right because I get a full signal on Three in my house.
I phoned Three last night and they said there wasn't a problem with the network in my area. The woman I spoke to suggested taking the sim card and battery out, leaving it 5 minutes and then trying it. I did this this morning and it made no difference. I also set the phone into 3G only and manually scanned for networks and it couldn't find any.
I phoned again this morning and was told there is a known bug with the HTC Desire locking onto partner networks. I've been told to get the phone flashed but that sounds like a bit of a fob-off to me, especially when I can't find any reference to this problem on the internet.
My phone is locked after entering the unlock pattern incorrect too many times.It asks me for gmail username/password but this doesnt work, have tried dozens of combinations etc.The only option I think at this stage is to root the phone, but my Bootloader is .92.Can I root the phone using this?It's an unbranded Desire, running Froyo official HTC update.

Here is my issue. When I read or delete an email from my phone, it doesn't reflect in gmail when I login. It still shows as unread. Whenever I get new emails on the phone, it will say I have 5, but I only have 1 because I already read the other 4. But I cannot see them and can only view them then from gmail online. Never had this issue live past a *228 and reboot. I have cleared cache, tried reflash. Everything. Even went back to a working NAND and still same issue. I am using Aloysius v11 MAPS.

BUT i found that some of my existing contact is without name but having the phone number and i am not sure if there is any missing contacts?
Then I retry to login with the old ID and the contacts details came back to normal with one or two without the names.

I have my Epic setup to poll my corporate POP3 mail server every 10 minutes.When I arrived at work this morning I changed the polling to "Never" on my Epic, and opened Outlook on my PC.I received an error indicating the the POP3 server was locked by another session.I turned off my Epic and a minute or so later, Outlook was able to successfully connect.How can this be avoided? Am I not completely closing out of the Email session on my Epic?

I spell my name wrong, so want to remove that email account and register a new one, but i can't find anywhere where i can delete it, it just keeps coming up to put my email in.
