View 6 RepliesIs it possible to password protect the recovery image; where we flash our roms ect...?
I have password protected the device to stop the phone being used while it is on, but it's really pointless when someone can turn the phone off and just reflash the device.
Granted, they could do that anyway even if i had an offical rom without the recovery image, but it would still be a nice feature if it's possible.
My daughters are forever taking my phone to play with and downloading games etc. This isfine but it does limit what apps I can put on my phone. Does anyone know of any apps I can get whereby it will give me the function to hide apps and have a password to access them?

I want to set a password on my phone to protect the gps so you have to enter a password to either turn the gps on or off.
I'm wondering if there is a way (or app) to password protect individual apps/programs.Sometimes I hesitate to let my friends try out my phone, because it means they have full access to my text msgs, emails, facebook, etc. I'd like to password protect JUST those apps.

Is there a way I can force the phone to ask for my account password every time I access this particular account - or is there something I can set internally on the phone to protect the e-mail app?

There's an option in the play store to require a pin code but that's only for app purchases, I need to also prevent the installation of free apps.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a Galaxy Ace S5830 phone and now I've changed my phone. It had one app that I could protect any of my gallery photos with a password. I don't know if it was a pre-installed app by Samsung or I had installed it manually and I can't remember the name of that. I need it for my new Galaxy Note... Remember I just want special photos in my gallery to be password protected. I DON'T mean an "App Locker Program, such AppLocker Pro app or similar to it".

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way or an app that will let me lock certain parts of Settings? Like if I want to allow our users to change Sound, Display, etc, but lock them out of Applications and Accounts&Sync?
I have found a few apps that will let us password protect things on the phone, but with them if I choose Settings, then they can't change anything and I want them to have a bit of flexibility, but I have to keep them out of Applications because then they could just kill the password app that locks them out of certain apps.
I'm looking for a way to lock or password protect the wallpaper settings. There are apps out there that lock apps, and lock the "settings" app, but long pressing the homescreen allows you to alter wallpapers directly and circumvents any such protection.
I know you can password protect the whole phone, but that's besides the point. I'm looking for a way to protect wallpaper settings specifically.
Is there an app that lets me passwordl protect certain apps and that also has a widget for easily turning it on or off. I have looked at some but I am not sure if they have a widget. I tried applock but it doesn't. Do you guys know of any app like this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on a family plan with my wife and 13yr old son. We purchased a Galaxy S4 for our son as a Birthday present in October. However, as of recent his grades have taken a dive. We notice he eats, sleeps and breathes on the phone. He primarily uses it for surfing the net, instagram or youtube. We were thinking of grounding him and removing his phone but we need him to have his phone as a point of contact. However, is there anyway to stop his data usage. I realize there is a setting on the phone to disable data usage but it is fairly easy to re-enable it.
Is there anyway to lock or password protect the phones settings or data usage?
I tried googling but the results kept yielding information relative to the "lock screen" which isnt what im looking for.
I m designing a big android application, where there are XMLs to store temporary data, images captured by camera and other details. Which is the best way to protect them from outer access from phone or from PC. XMLs can be encrypted. And images too, however there are times when they need to be accessed very often and encrypting-decrypting is very heavy operation. XML encryption is manageable but images cause memory problems. Is there any alternative way, something at folder level ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android. I recently was an iPhone fan but thought that Android was a better alternative to iPhone. So anyway, I have a few questions about the Captivate. Does Android have support for apps that you can use to password protect certain apps on the phone? Like messages, and photos for more private stuff. Another question I have: is the Captivates reception really bad? I currently have the iPhone 4 while it doesn't have the best of signal, its not too bad either. And my last question is if the captivate has support for 32gb cards. I'm sorry if someones already gone over these but I could find anything right away. Anyways, I look forward to Android and the Captivate.

I was really looking forward to some on android market that would allow me to hide certain apps and password lock them along with password locking settings options. Yet I have not been able to find any. I have a few apps that I want to hide from my family and friends.
I would rather not root my phone as I am not that technically advanced!
So you decide that you want to add your password to your voice-mail on your eris, this is helpful especially with the proximity sensor, as it appears to disable the screen for a couple of seconds when listening for please enter password. So you input your password for your voice-mail on your phone and now when someone call and leaves a message, it shows on the bottom of the lock screen you have a new message and *86ppXXXX# and your password.Anyone know how to hide the voice-mail password from showing on the lock screen?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've dumped my thumb drive and now use my smartphone (HTC V One) for the same purpose. One side effect is I now have a couple directories full of mp3 files that I'd like to hide from the music player (no, they aren't those kinds of files. They're work related, not music).
Is it possible to hide directories from the music player? Even better, can I tell the music player to only look under 'My Music' on the SD card?
I find it kinda annoying that recordings made the voice recorder application show up in the music player. I'd like to have only my music play when I set it to shuffle. I have all my music in a folder called music. Can I limit the music player to search in that folder only?
