General :: Modify Status Bar MTZ To Make It Look Like Gaussian Blur Background?
Feb 8, 2012
What do I need to do to modify a status bar mtz, to make it look like a gaussian blur background? When I extract the mtz, there aren't any background pngs..just the icons for the status bar. I see there's a theme_values xml, but all the fields in there are color codes and such..
This is what I'm talking about:

Status bar color is quite limited and doesn't change everything.
I'm looking for something to change the colour of the status bar icons and the transparency. Is there anything for that without changing system apks?

I would like to be able to either blur or dim the background when I show my popupwindow using popup.showAtLocation, and unblur/dim the background when popup.dismiss is called.
I have tried applying layout params FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND and FLAG_DIM_BEHIND to my activity, and this appears to just blur and dim the background as soon my app is started.

Every few minutes, a GPS icon pops up in my status bar even though there is no GPS apps running in the background. I installed LBE Privacy, and set GPS access to PROMPT for all applications I saw on the list, including system apps, I even deny it to Google Framerowk, and still it happens. How can I get to the bottom of it?
I am running Cyanogenmod 7.2.

I'm trying to make the status bar icons opaque on an ics Rom (the icons to the left, like the debugging, usb, unread notifications, etc.) as in kitkat roms. What values should i change? I'm sure it's not on drawables.xml and it's not the png's either (they are already opaque). Statusbar.smali maybe? if that's the case, what are the lines that i should modify?
Here, some screenshots:

i just noticed this with my camera a few days ago. I like to use my Eris's camera a LOT (its a decent camera!) but am now disappointed that there is a reddish blur in the center of all photos. It is very noticeable on white backgrounds in medium to low light conditions. does anyone have any info? i rooted my phone and am still in the 30 day period, i have insurance too.

I'm currently running the adw launcher and I love it. I love the numerous customization options that it has. I was just wondering if there is a way in the settings to adjust the transparency of the status bar like it has for the app drawer. I currently have the 8.2 version of adw that I downloaded from the devs website and I can't figure out the settings to adjust the transparency of the status bar.

I have click able icons on a map showing a PopupWindow just above the icon when clicked. However, if the icon is on the topmost part of the map the PopupWindow will be hidden under the Android Status Bar.
The PopupWindow will automatically adjust to the right and left edges of the screen, and also to the top edge but doesn't take the status bar panel into account.Either there should be a way to accommodate the height of the MapView, or an attribute to the PopupWindow that takes the status bar into account. Of course it's always possible to add a fixed size top margin, but the top panel have different heights on different Android units.Can anyone help with this?

I know how to upload pictures to a Facebook album, and I know how to make a status update, but how do I do both at the same time, so I can comment on the picture? (This is not the same as giving the picture a caption, which I also know how to do.)

Is there any settings for that ? It's hard to use phone when it's dark outside.

After I take a lens blur photo using the Google Camera app, I can swipe to the right to view the photo and adjust the blur. After I select "done," the photo updates with my blur options. However, when I exit the camera and view this photo using Google Photos, the lens blur options I chose are not there and it's not possible to edit the lens blur. It seems I have to open the camera and swipe right in order to see the lens blur effects.
-Can I only adjust lens blur options within the camera app itself?
-Can I only view the lens blur effects within the camera app?
if seems this is a waste of the lens blur feature. After I make adjustments to the blur and select done, that's the image that should be saved and viewable by Google Photos, Gallery, and backed up to Google+.

I've started learning about drawing things to the screen with Surface view and canvases, but I've run into a problem. At the moment, all I want to do is draw a background image to the screen, and have it fit the screen, regardless of size or resolution. I've figured out how to draw the image just fine, but it doesn't fit the screen at all.
Here is my situation: I'm developing on an Archos 5 internet tablet. It has a 4.8 inch screen and a resolution of 800x480 - putting it in the "Large" class of screens and "Medium" class of pixel density for Android. My background image is 800x480 - my thinking was that it would be displayed perfectly on my device, and scaled down on smaller screens.
But this isn't happening. When I place my image in the "medium" density drawables folder, the image seems "zoomed in" and I can't see it all on my device. And when I emulate the app with different screen sizes, it's all over the place.
I'm drawing my image in a Panel which extends Surface View. Here is the code:
Code:
package com.plant.drawing;
import android.graphics.BitmapFactory;
import android.graphics.Canvas;
import android.view.SurfaceView;
import android.view.SurfaceHolder;
import android.content.Context;
[Code] ....
In my layout, I set this panel's properties of layout height and width to "wrap content." I'm really new to Surface views and the like, so I'm sure I'm simply not doing something - but what can I do to make this image fill the background of any size screen? The image is a .png, by the way.
