i want to use the default open-transition animation (with adw ex i can) because i want to use the new cm7.2 transition animation (ics style), with launcher pro and go launcher for example didn't work, the system use the launcher animation

Window animation scale 1x (default) to Window animation scale .5x
Transition animation scale 1x (default) to Transition animation scale .5x
Animator duration scale 1x (default) to Animator duration scale .5x
As default in my ROM. So users have 0.5 x in settings but can change it if they wish to.
ROM is 4.1.1 sammy base.
Can you advise me how to apply view transition animation. ex: when i click on an list item my contentview changers. I want to apply a transition animation in that.

As I noticed that the transition was still a left to right animation, does someone know if there is a way to change system animation when starting an activity? Actually, I'd ideally like to have a right to left transition (like when the return button is tapped)
I want to port my application on all android devices, and I want to have the right/left animation on the activities transition on all android platform versions. I know that this feature is implemented in the 2.0 version. How can I implement this feature for the lower versions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst of all I have a Sprint Epic Touch 4G AKA Samsung Galaxy 2 S and not rooted,
I keep getting prompt to select which launcher(launcher or twlauncher) when I press the home button. I would select set as default and then select twlauncher. This would work fine and I could do what I want and the home button acts normally. BUT if I long press the home button to bring up task manager and a list of recent apps, it would break the default setting on twlauncher. I could go to setting and manage app and see that the default on twlauncher is now cleared even though I did not manually clear it. I tried checking set as default and then select launcher. It too won't stick AFTER I long press the home button.
Long story short, I downloaded several launchers from the market and none of them will stay set as default IF I long press the home button. It breaks the default every time and ask me to select the launcher to use when I press the home button. Now this would be great if I could just delete all the other launcher and have only one but I can't delete the stock launcher or twlauncher.
So the first time this happen, I was driving down the road using telenav when I see the prompt to select which launcher(something that I've never seen after using the phone for 2 weeks).
1. Start task manager and kill all active app and clear memory from RAM
2. Clear defaults from manage application....twlauncher
3. Click home button, click set as default and then launcher instead of twlauncher- still does not stick after long press home button.
4. Manage application...twlauncher CLEAR DATA (sure enough my neatly organized homepage and apps folder was reset to stock).
5. Pull battery
6. Cycle power on and off.
7. Gave up after 24 hours and factory reset the phone.
8. Went on my merry way and reinstall apps and customizing home page and apps pages and so on.
9. In hindsight, I should have long press home button every time I installed a new app to see which one will break the default.
10. Phone works fine for 24 hours and then it mysteriously acts up again. It ask me to choose which launcher again.
11. Went back to googling and tried the following which did not work:
a. clear media hub data and default
b. installed Sprint "clean" ID and then later deleting it.
c. installed go launcher and see if it will stick
d. installed launcher pro
e. installed home switcher
f. I don't have Qik or some child lock apps
g. search XDA and found about 15 threads and tried everything in those thread short of using Titanium to freeze one launcher.
Right now I just won't long press the home button to bring up task manager or recent apps and everything will work just fine. Minor annoyance but I guess I can live with it until the ICS update.
I'm trying to have a dialog pop up to prompt the user to select which launcher to have as default when he restarts the tablet.The function below is working, it can set the android launcher to default, but it won't set my own launcher as a default launcher.

I just updated my launcher pro beta.. it is now version 18..according to settings applications.so now when i press home it just goes to my original launcher and doesn't even prompt me as to what i want my default to be.i have a milestone and i'm rooted! but help. i hate the stock launcher!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S2 and i have the problem that every time y hit the home button it keeps asking for my default launcher i searched and it seems that it isn't a Galaxy S2 problem because a lot of models have it.
I clear dalvik and cache partition and fix permissions and it was fix.
But is it possible to have ADW launcher have the default app drawer or are the launcher and appdrawer tied together. eg you can only have one or the other. The device in question is the motorola xoom wifi.
Reason being is because I enjoy having ADW launcher's ability to take up the full screen on my xoom as opposed to have the columns on either side where you cant place app (wasted screen real estate if you ask me, since theirs no need for a tapping area when you can swipe to change screens). But at the same time I very much enjoy the ICS app drawer and being able to see a visual representation of my widgets and what not.
if it is possible to have both the ICS app drawer and a custom launcher? By this I mean to have the custom launcher home screen and the default appdrawer? I have googled but I haven't found an answer Thats why im asking. I don't know enough about android to figure it out on my own, So can you have both your cake and eat it too? Or is the homescreen tied to their respective launchers. Eg you cant have the default app drawer without also using the default homescreen launcher? I have Alcatel OneTouch Idol 6030x, rooted with framaroot, and I wanted to install an other launcher. I have installed Nova Launcher, press the Home Button and it asks me which launcher to go. I select Nova launcher and set as default. But everytime I lock/unlock my phone, default settings are gone and it asks me again. It's annoying. I have tried with other launchers.

First off, I maintain a Sidekick 4G ROM, and it's been pretty successful so far. But, the default Launcher in system/app is launcher2.apk and it works no mistake about it. But I want to change this launcher to FTL (Faster Than Light) because it performs a lot better for the scenario I'm in. However, I remove the launcher2.apk, and include the FTL.apk, and after flashing I'm left without a launcher, even renaming the FTL.apk to launcher2.apk doesn't work. I even went into META-INF folder and changed the name lowveld to CERT (like it is in most launchers)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using LP for about a week (it's great BTW!) and this just started to happen so it could have something to do with the latest update. I've set LP at the default launcher and everything works great. However, if I ever long press the "home" button, go to an application, then press "home" again I get the popup asking me which launcher I want to use. I check the "set as default" box then select LP and everything is good again. It all works until I long press home the next time, then the remembered default is gone and I get the prompt again. I've tried rebooting, clearing defaults, etc.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Jellybean 4.2.1. I am also running Nova Launcher V2.1.1. Every time I re-boot the phone I get prompted to select the default "Launcher" or "Nova". Selecting "always" has no effect on subsequent re-boots. I have also tried numerous apps to set the default launcher without success and tried clearing the defaults for the "stock" launcher. Any manual way to correct this problem by manipulating the relevant files on the phone? This problem only started once I installed the 4.2.1 OTA update.

By mistakenly I reset my phone to factory settings and now after resetting I cannot access any functions. Since I had deleted the launcher. I am having the files of the launcher though but since the phone has USB Debugging turned off and Google Account not set, I am not able to do anything!! Is there any update.zip kind of file to reinstall the launcher? I am using Motorola Fire XT311 which has locked bootloader so no Nandroids too !!

For instance, when I do a Google search on something and click a youtube video, it asks me every time which app to open it with even though I always select the YouTube to set as default.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDecided to give it a try after hearing rave reviews from many. Downloaded Launcher Pro from the market today and it installed but won't open. There's no icon in my app list for it either. I can find it by going to Settings > Apps > Manage Apps but the only option there is to uninstall.
Rebooted and on the homescreen I had an option to use Sense or Launcher Pro so I chose Launcher Pro. The bottom dock was there but some of my previous icons were still on the homepage and I couldn't hold/drag them off the screen? Also, still nowhere to interface the program for options. Am I missing something obvious or what the heck?
i tried to get it to go back to the default like i had it set up in eclair "2.1" and i cant get it up now (and yes i cleared defaults.

I seem to be missing the default launcher. I checked my application directory and it doesnt exist and i also tried disabling HTC Sense and it dont have the option to choose the default launcher. I do remember having it at some point so i must have accidentally uninstalled it somewhere down the line. Is there a way to get it back or download from somewhere. I know there are other Launchers out there like Launcher Pro but i just want to get back the stock launcher. I even tried a factory wipe hoping to get it back and nada. Google search hasnt helped either.

A launches B using start Activity(new Intent(A.this, B.class)). When the user has the B activity open, and then put my application into the background, and later my application's process is killed, when the user starts my application again, B is opened instead of A. This caused a force close in my app, because A is the activity that initializes the resources my app needs, and when B tried to access the uninitialized resources, B crashes.
