Android :: Animation Transition Between Activities Using FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP

Aug 17, 2010

In my android app, I'm making a method that pop all activities and bring up the first activity.

Intent intent = new Intent(this, MMConnection.class);

As I noticed that the transition was still a left to right animation, does someone know if there is a way to change system animation when starting an activity? Actually, I'd ideally like to have a right to left transition (like when the return button is tapped)

Android :: Flickering - Animation Towards Right And Left

Aug 26, 2010

I am doing an application-infinitely rotating 3D cylinder in openGl.The speed varies with finger touch but wen i reduce the speed,i can see flickering happening in animation towards right and left.Initialy I thought it is because of the linked list im updating but found out there is no such problem with my linked list .I'm using a thread here for a small delay after each 30 degree rotation drawing.I cant do it widout the thread coz i need a sleep or a delay after each 30 degree drawing,if i remove the thread and implement the code in thread inside my onDraw frame, the curvature rotation itself goes and it appears that images are just left shifting n right shifting coz the sleep is not getting identified in onDraw frame.So i cant implement my logic here widout using thread is a must in my logic but i guess the flickering is due to my thread...Is the flickering issue during animation because of the thread?please do help me with this flickering issue......

This is d thread part im using in my code.........

Android :: Simulating A Waiting Voicemail Message

Apr 10, 2010

I am looking for a way to simulate or create a waiting voicemail message. I know there has a question about this that have been on the mailing-list/group here:

In investigating trying to get a voicemail message simulated w/ the AVD Emulator, I tried just setting the incoming mail to "SEND_TO_VOICEMAIL" - but that does not create a message. There is not an indicator that the call was made until you check your call log (which is the expected behavior, so no complaints there).

I have looking through the Android documentation, tutorials/samples, and reference. I cannot find anything talking about creating or bootstrapping a voicemail message (and I haven't seen anything about handling other instances of a "Message Waiting Indicator").

I've looked around on a couple other message forums, like, and haven't seen any examples dealing with voicemail. I have a Safari account and searched in the Android dev books and only find mention of the Intent URI for the Dailer (voicemail:).

If looks like when I'm trying to achieve would be done by creating a Notification and passing it to NotificationManager.notify() as done in this example article:[url]

Would PendingIntent be the Intent that I'm looking for? I'm new to the platform/api, so I'm likely just missing some knowledge on what I'm trying to do is called. I have done a fair bit of looking around, but I've reached a bit where I feel I'm going in circles.

If looks like once I could create/simulate voicemail, then I'd chance need to create a PhoneStateListener with a definition of onMessageWaitingIndicatorChanged() and call TelephonyManager.listen().

If I have missed a place to check or a resource - just point me briefly in that direction.

Android :: Simulating An Operating System Upgrade

Oct 5, 2010

I am having issues with my application when a user gets a system update (for example from 2.1 to 2.2). i am wondering how I can reproduce this experience on a phone (Nexus One). does this involve rooting the phone and then applying a system update? I need the update to look as though it came from the system. In other words, I can't take a full ROM image, because then I think I would lose my application being installed between upgrades.

Android :: Animation.start - Or Animation.startNow - Does Not Start The Animation Immediately

Aug 30, 2010

I have a strange issue - from time to time the animation that should fade out my control (ImageButton) does not kick in immediately. I am using the fadeout animation to hide it and then in myListener on its end (onAnimationEnd) I put new resource as the image on the button.

Somewhere in my app code:

Animation a = AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(this,R.anim.fadeout); a.setAnimationListener(new myListener(location)); buttons[location].setAnimation(a); a.startNow(); // regardless if its start() or startnNow() it will work in most of the cases but not 100% reliable I actually can see in debug Log when its late, happens after few more clicks

Then in myListener.onAnimationEnd(Animation a):buttons[location].setImageResource(R.drawable.standard_button);

Seems there is a rule that the every 4th or 5th animation does not start ...

I uninstalled battery left and installed Battstatt and it shows 90 percent (2 hours later). Anyone else have problems with battery left? I hope this fixes my battery problem.
