Is there a way or setting to always open the stock ICS email to the All Inboxes view regardless of which account is triggering a notification? If this isn't possible, is there a 3rd party email app that can do this?

I am trying K9-mail and I can�t get the inbox to open by default. I always get the Accounts (only have 1 account). I tried to check and uncheck "Integrated inbox".

However, the past couple of days, I have one email account that says there are new emails to display, but when I click on it, nothing appears in the Inbox. However, if I go to the Combined inbox, they are there. This email was working before a few days ago! I even deleted the email account and re-created it. Still no email displaying in the Inbox. I do receive a message saying something about server messages and Inbox not available, but I've looked everywhere to find any information on this (even googled it and checked the forums with no luck).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am relatively new to Android. Just got a Droid 4. As part of the setup, I added my gmail accounts. On the regular web interface, I have about 20 labels (folder) to archive the old messages. Then, I also had about 80 messages left in the inbox. Five days later, all of a sudden, I only have 1 message (a chat converted info a message 2 months ago) left in the inbox. Everything else in the inbox is gone. If I use the gmail app on the phone, that's what I see as well.
However, if I use the "mail" app on the phone, I am still seeing all the messages originally in the inbox. And the inbox is associated with my gmail account.
Now, comes the question: how can I restore all the email messages viewable by the "mail" app back into the inbox viewable by the "gmail" app, which is also the inbox in the web interface on my computer?
When I start the gmail app I would like it to ALWAYS go to the Inbox. Instead it starts with some old message displayed and I have to tap menu - Back to Inbox so I can see new messages. And it's not like it's opening the last message that I was reading either - it's some older message pretty far down in the Inbox.Is there any way to force it to ALWAYS go to the Inbox when I start the app?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got an EVO, and I'm loving everything except this one thing. I would like my gmail app to default to "all mail," instead of simply "inbox." Why? I have some messages skip my gmail inbox (like facebook notifications or weekly coupons), so I have set labels to fix that! Keeps a clean inbox. BUT I want to still be notified of Facebook emails on my phone without having to specifically look for them. Say someone tags me in an unflattering picture, and I'm away from my laptop? I'd like to know right away! I have different needs for my phone and my laptop Does anyone else have these problems? Or...solutions?

I love the combined inbox, but when I get a mail alert and use it to open the email program it opens in the specific inbox for that account in the email program. Is there any way to have it open my combined inbox by default?

Whenever I press the manual update button on the upper left hand corner, it doesn't seem to work whatsoever. (I send myself test e-mails and they don't show up when I press that button when they should).Any ideas how to fix this? Is this button not working for anyone else using IMAP? Did installing and uninstalling K9 mail maybe mess up the stock android e-mail app?

Email functions fine otherwise. I can see that an email has an attachment, but when i click to download, the process begins then always ends with the message 'Not implemented". This happens will all file types.

This question may have been answered elsewhere however I cannot seem to find an answer that helps so far.Both accounts say that I have new email message in my Inbox, however when I go into the Inbox, there are no messages there. If I then select 'Mark all messages as read' it says:'Mark all messages in 'Inbox' as read? Not talking about the text size of the actual emails here, but the text size of your inbox message list when you click on the icon or on the drop down notification. To me the text is huge, and therefore the inbox list is shorter and you only get a small preview of the info. Is there a simple way to reduce that text size that I just haven't been able to find?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having some difficulties getting my emails. I have my Hotmail account linked to my phone. When I first got the phone, email came lickety split. I have downloaded 17 apps (or widgets, whichever you prefer). Now I don't get any email at all unless I refresh my inbox on my Eris. They have been up to a day old when I decide to try refreshing my inbox and, what do you know, they all pop up! My oh-so-famous "enable always-on mobile data" box is checked.
Is there any way to search for a program by typing in its name?
How do I make inbox refresh when I go into it (or open the app)? I disabled the timely update.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI did some searching in the forums and could not find an answer to this. I realize it's not a major problem but it is something that is driving me nuts. This is my first Android phone and I just got it, was previously using WinMo. In my email I was able to set it so that when I was viewing an email and decided to delete it while viewing it, I would go directly back to the inbox but my Hero automatically goes to the next email on all accounts. How or can I change this?
Also, is there a way to set email so that I have a choice of which email I want to open by a list (similar to an account picker?)
This might be a dumb question but is there any way (or app) that would allow us to change the white envelope in the notification bar for email? I ask because I have 2 accounts, one Yahoo and another Exchange for work. I never know which email account gets a new email unless I expand the notification or enter the email app.
It would be great to be able to have a little "Y" icon (or something) for a Yahoo email and another icon for the exchange email. That way I can just ignore all the exchange email that comes in after work and only bother looking if it is a Yahoo email. Anything out there?
I am having a very, very annoying problem that I hope someone smarter than me can help me with!
I have two email accounts setup under my Email on my Ally. So, when I select the Email button it takes me to a screen that has both of the accounts (which were working fine a couple days ago). The issue is happening on both accounts (one is yahoo and the other is my work outlook).
If I click on one of the accounts it takes me to the Inbox for that account. If I then subsequently select an email to read it takes me into that email. However, after a few seconds it automatically sends me back to the prior screen (Inbox for the account). Then, sometimes, it sends me back again to the Accounts selection screen.
I have changed the email refresh for both accounts to 5 minutes, so that should be long enough for me to read an email without it kicking me out of one. I turned on my wi-fi to connect to my home network yesterday, but have since turned off wi-fi (thinking that might have been the problem) and it is continuing to do the same thing.
On a side-note, if I open up my Gmail App (which is not an account in my Email app) it seems to work fine. I am at wits end so hopefully someone can give me some insight!
Anyone notice that new emails take 2-3 minutes to show up? I thought it was supposed to be instant?Yahoo email doesn't update until you open the email app.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using the email app that came on the droid x for 2 weeks with no problem until now. i only have my yahoo email acct on it. this am, my inbox is empty. nothing has changed on my actual yahoo acct, so the emails have not been deleted. how can i get the inbox to repopulate/sync with the emails that are in my yahoo inbox? the other folders of my email are fine.

It's all set up fine, I can send emails from it (have tested this too) - the only, somewhat major problem!, is that it says my inbox has 'No Mail' regardless of how many times I refresh the page. It's showing my mail in the sent folder ok but have never been able to retrieve my mail from my inbox for some bizarre reason.
