How to remove a specific status bar icons and change the order of icon display? I think we need to edit the smali files, but I'm not sure which one to edit.

I'm using a Lenovo a60 phone. It has dual SIM support. However i rarely keep the second SIM card activated which results in a no-signal icon beside the 1st SIM signal icon. Anyway i can remove the NO SIGNAL icon ONLY? I still want the signal strength of the second SIM to appear when SIM 2 is activated but i don't want the icon when SIM 2 is deactivated.
I believe it lies somewhere in the SystemUI.apk since that's how i removed the Vibration Indicator icon.
How to remove the NO SIGNAL icon in the statusbar of ANY PHONE (dual sim or not).
First: I have to edit the SystemUI.apk or the Framework-res.apk? (because in systemui i dont have battery icons, but yes wifi and etc); And in framework-res i have all the statusbar icons.
Second: I have to edit the .png images with patch 9.png or something?
Third: All the images to replace have to be exactly the same size of pixel? or 2 or 3 pixel more high or width doesnt matters?
Why Rom ToolBox does not change the status bar Icons when it shows that it's installed?

CM10.1 or AOKP theme where the only thing that changes from stock is that the status bar icons, specifically signal, battery and wifi are white instead of Holo blue? Either that or a theme that replaces the status bar with MIUI bar icons but maintains the rest of the UI would be great as well. I tried one called HoloWhite, as well as a couple other minimalistic ones, but with those some of the icon styles changed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI made some changes to the status bar and for the most part it went smooth other than the signal icon. I have a D3 with the Eclipse 3 rom. I used Ninjamorph went into framework , apps, systemui.apk and changed the png files of the signal bar png's. when I reboot the new image shows up but changes back to the old style when the 3g or 1x kicks in. do I need to change a different signal png?

Is there a way to change the order that the notification icons come up? i ask because i have the battery indicator installed and running as an ongoing event in the notification bar, so i'd like to keep that in the corner and have the other notifications come up to the right of it...but as of now it's putting new notifications in the corner and moving the battery indicator to the right...

I would like to hide or remove unwanted icons from the left side of the notification/status bar. I realize most programs give you this option, but some don't (such as the latest version of Norton security program). It just sits up there and hogs up real estate. Post your icons, or a link you your favorite icon pack be it on deviant art or an app in the market or anywhere else.

There are numerous apps out there like Fake Chrome that will change one specific icon for a specific program.
I just got to thinking and I realized that I change my layout each week, sometimes more then once in a week. I don't just mean add an icon or widget, i mean change icon appearances with BetterCut, rearrange icons/widgets...add/remove the amount of screens, change background images and lockscreens.....you get the point. so with that being said, how often do you change your eris layout???

Just picked up my incredible, and I have two questions....
1. how do i change the email notification to a specific sound? As of rite now, when i receive an email nothing happens (no sound or vibrate).
2. How do I select a specific ring for mms. I know how to select sms, but I cant figure out how to change the mms.
I've thought there might be a shell script I could run, maybe get an app that can run shell scripts from an icon on the home screen--but I don't know what that script would need to be, since it couldn't be about killing a process because that process ID is probably going to be different every time, and I don't know if it would require root. Rooting my phone is not an option.
I'm going to assume though that there's probably no answer to this and that I'll just have to keep going in by hand to force stop the app via prefs/apps/name-of-app/force stop. I just wish these app makers would have an exit option. Twitter and Vine and Growlr are examples of these programs with this kind of behavior. Facebook as well, but that'll just reload itself when you force quit it because it's a special "system app". I mean, I'm not expecting them to exit when I just go to the home screen, that would be silly, but I'd like SOME sort of option to close them besides going through the hassle of force stopping them via the OS preferences.
I want there to be NO chance whatsoever that these programs are going to access data in some way once I'm done using them. I have no problem with whatever the programs want to do when I WANT them running, but when I'm done using them, I want to be able to quit them, and it has nothing to do with wanting to have more free memory.
I'm rooted and have 4.0.4.
