View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an backup application which will allow me to backup my apps and system data on roms based on stock ICS and restore to JB and vice versa.
Titanium backup does the job but after restoring on a new rom I get a lot of fc's and none of the apps works. I cannot restore call log and text messages, accounts, etc.
There's a lot of backup apps, I know. But I would like to be sure that they work as they should. Any app which will do the job?

I am developing a simple widget which has a couple of buttons in its layout.
Before the widget gets added, the configuration activity is displayed, where the user can choose if the widget makes any sounds when the buttons get pressed or not.
Thus, a user can put two instances of the widget, one where he chose sound to be activated and another where he chose the opposite. However, I can not seem to be able to reproduce the expected behavior (that one reproduces sound and the other doesn't).
The buttons' behavior varies according to the flags specified to the PendingIntent:
- FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT seems to override the previous intent/setting - no flags (0x00) seems to ignore any intent/setting after the first instance of the widget is put.
What I want to do: I want to be able to configure different instances of the same widget to behave in a different way, according to what the user specified in the configuration activity. I am attempting to do this with the help of the appWidgetId of each instance:

This results in the first widget acting properly (The IDs printed in logcat are as expected) When adding a second widget, however, the first widget starts reporting the second widget's appWidgetId in its onReceive(), when it previously did no such thing. (because of the FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT, I guess)
How can one make different instances behave in a different way? Is there a way to do this with the help of the appWidgetId?

So basically my Samsung Galaxy S3 was SIM locked when I bought it. After getting it unlocked (long after warranty was void) I noticed the guys installed a really bad ROM and I want to reflash with a stock firmware. Will this lock my phone to a single network provider SIM card again?

I like to sleep at night! When I do I would love it if I could turn Google Talk off but have it switch on again in the morning without me having to remember to do it. At the moment I have an app which puts the phone into airplane mode and I set a time to turn it back on. If I could do the same with Google Talk it would be awesome.
Any app that would turn it off for a set period of time, or maybe at a certan time of the day check to see if it is off and start it up again?
I want to install a new jb rom based off xxlsj. But it says to wipe data and do factory reset. Now I have a couple of games on my current jb leak stock rom which I want to back up. These games are more than 500 mb each when I downloaded from play store. Thing is when I take their backup using titanium backup and check the backup folder size, it shows only about 20 mb in size. I already put a check on backup external data to "always". I don't want to lose progress and redo those games all over.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having some problems with the porting of a rom, my phone is a clone of the phone from which i'm taking the rom (My phone is a NGM Legend 2, which is also a clone of Gionee GN868, and the original is Blu Vivo 4.3) the only thing which is really different are the mounting positions of the internal memory.
In Blu Vivo 4.3 the system partition is mounted on /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 and the data partition is on /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 while in the mine they are mounted on /dev/block/mmcblk0p4 and /dev/block/mmcblk0p6.
I changed them in the updater-script so i'm able to install the rom, but i had to replace the boot.img with the one from my rom because the phone wasn't booting up, but i can't install any app from google play store (error 110) or any apk ("app not installed" error).
Want to ditch the iphone for S4 but not sure if it will talk to my Mac (10.8 OS). I almost know that ICal and Mac contacts will not sync with android but hope that Outlook would ? I was told Eltima could do that!

If you used to dd, you wouldn't have to deal with any of that stuff right? Could you not just make images of all the partitions of your device and store them on your computer as backup? Then if you get bricked, could you not use those images again and just re-image the drive?
That's the problem I'm having with my device. My buttons will no longer function so I can't flash anything in the recovery and using Odin (Samsung) to flash works but no existing roms or kernels that I can find will fix the touchscreen.
However, I can access the device through ADB and I'm assuming I could get the device to show its partitions on Linux right? So then could I use someone else's existing partitions and re-image those on my device?

TeamSeven,Bulletproff, and elementalX all do not work! How I can get the HTc logo to be a menu button? with or without kernal. How to go about such a thing. I just don't like any of the mini usb based looking docks. I have an android tablet which is the so called "Q88" allwinner a13 running on a 4.0.4 ICS, and I was trying to put a CWM on it and it did but it got stucked on the CWM, I used a sausage script for it (its the december 2012 file). can I unbricked my tablet? If yes how?
I have a noname chinese made Rockchip 2918 based tablet PC that I am trying to root so I can use some tools to increase performance/etc.
I have ADB and the Android SDK installed.
I have the most recent Rockchip drivers installed.
I have Development Mode turned on on the tablet.
When I plug the device into USB, nothing happens other then the windows notification sound to let me know something was plugged in. No "searching for drivers" nothing. When I go to ADB and do a "ADB Shell" command, it says device not found.
If I boot the tablet into Recovery mode, connect USB, and repeat the above procedure, I get the same result.
Is there a seperate USB Recovery mode I need to get into? I read about this on other RK2918 based tablets and I have tried all the methods to no avail. Volume up and Power is the only combination that does something, and that just takes me into normal recovery mode.
Just a side note, If I connect my HTC Evo 4G LTE and try the shell command, it finds it instantly.
I'm searching for an application that can switch CM 10 profiles based in wifi connections.
Thought [URL].... could do that, but it manages its own profiles.
