Want to ditch the iphone for S4 but not sure if it will talk to my Mac (10.8 OS). I almost know that ICal and Mac contacts will not sync with android but hope that Outlook would ? I was told Eltima could do that!

I finally got my work email sync'd on my Android phone (Outlook). However, all my annoying meetings from work are now popping up as "notifications" in my phone's status bar. I can't stand corporate meetings, which are a colossal waster of time, and i don't want to be reminded of all the meetings on my work schedule. I was able to successfully turn of the Outlook mail notifications on my phone (and I still get Gmail notifications, since they are two separate email systems, which is exactly what I want). How do I turn my "Outlook calendar reminders," but still be reminded of my Google Calendar reminders, which is my personal, and far more important, calendar?

I used the Google Calendar Sync in the past, but I didn't like it. As for the contacts, I am wanting to keep EVERYTHING synced with Google, such as contact photo, notes, ect. I do use more than one calendar on Google. I am not sure if that would make a difference or not. Is the best thing to do set up my own Exchange/Activesync server? Or is there an app that will do just this?

I have always used my outlook calendar instead of google calendars since out look is always open on my computer and it's easier for me to use. How do I sync my phone with the outlook calendar - not worried about the emails and I already am using google contacts
is there any way one could sync multiple Outlook accounts to the same phone? I've tried to add multiple accounts that aren't Outlook, and I can't do it.
Or, what is a good work-around to try? Porting the accounts to Google calendars and sync them that way? It's for work, so I don't know if that would be the best option.
just switched over from blackberry, jumping off the ship before it fully sinks. i have my mail, tasks and address book syncing with the new Droid. however my "notes" don't sync and i don't see an option to do that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a few Android devices and I play around with them quite a bit - flashing ROMs, etc. - and there's one thing that tends to irk me: When setting up my Google account on the device, there's the following checkbox:
Bring apps, settings and other data that you previously backup up to your Google account
Is there any way to limit this to settings and other data? I've used a TON of Android apps, and there are many, free and paid, that I have no desire to use again. I know a more robust solution (Titanium Backup, etc.) is better, but I'm not always running with root and I'm not looking for extremely-fine-grain control. I simply want to skip installing apps I haven't used in months! I know I could simply uninstall the apps, but there are a ton. I'm willing to uncheck the box if I can get a clear understanding of what I'll be missing if I don't sync. I don't have much time to experiment with it at the moment. For example, I don't remember if known wi-fi networks are synced (compare to Windows 8, which does - if I remember correctly - along with tons of other data)
I have a Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and wood like to be able to synchronize my outlook data (calendar mainly but if possible the entire outlook) locally. I work for a company that does not allow to store any of the company business information outside so I can not go via cloud. Any app that allows this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAt work I have more than just the email calendar. I have a design calendar for allowing my sales reps and project managers to post events to. I also have my main email account calendar. I am the owner of both calendars but the only one that syncs with the stock calendar app is my email account calendar from outlook. This was very easy to do with my windows phone. I just ticked the calendars I wanted to sync to my phone. Was just like my outlook program at work. Showed my owned calendars and let me decide which ones I wanted to populate to my calendar app. I cannot find a way to do this on android. The only calendar it gives me is the main email calendar. I do not want to allow everyone in my work to see my email calendar just so it will show up on my phone easier. All the people can see the design calendar and edit it. This allows them to schedule projects and can see available bandwidth for my department.
Is the rift between google and MSFT too much that neither of them allows the other to do things, or is this just samsung not empowering their app to see other owned exchange calendars?
I don't really want to buy a 3rd party application just to get photos in my contacts. I am not talking about facebook or gmail contacts, just Outlook contacts. I have an Exchange 2010 server and Outlook 2010 My blackberry and my iPod both have sync'd contact photos, why doesn't android?

I currently use the Google supplied sync app and it is a piece of crap. I does not resolve conflicts. It does not delete entries that I have deleted oin Outlook. It does not transfer appointments that were created by others that I have accepted. I never had a problem with my old Win Mobile phone and Active sync. I cannot connect to our Exchange server for updates so I must sync directly with my local client. I am getting so sick of companies telling me how I should be doing stuff. a) Messaging - I use handcent SMS now not the default app.
b) Acer Sync - Does this just sync with Outlook? I don't use Outlook or need to sync any windows files.
c) Default Browser - I now use Dolphin so the default browser.
d) Email - I just use Gmail.
e) Gmail - I think accessing Gmail via a browser is now Google's best supported method.
f) Gmail Storage - as above.
g) Nemoplayer - I use TuneWiki.
h) RoadSync - I do not use Outlook. This sounds the same as AcerSync.
i) Sync Feeds - Not sure what this does.
I had been recommended Active Sync to sync with Outlook but now i find that it's for syncing with Outlook Exchange. (i'm using plain vanilla Outlook, no Exchange). i happen to run all email via a gmail account for backup, spam filtering, emergencies when I don't have my laptop) so syncing email is not an issue.

Also, I use Windows Vista and the integration with Outlook 2007 was a pain. I am very intersted in WM devices and Android. What is going to be the best for me considereing the above? 2. I don't use GMail and I plan to use using a POP3 profile to access my webmail account. Will using either "HTC Sync" or "Companionlink" to sync my contacts -- allow me full access to the multiple email addresses I have stored in my PC's Outlook 2007 account -- for each of my contacts? Or do either of those applications only "capture" one email address data field?

I am looking for the best way to sync my Outlook with my Droid 2. I am a single user, don't have MS Exchange or Google Apps. I want to be able to update both in Outlook and on my Droid and have them sync.... with the least amount of problems and applications.
I don't mind paying a (moderate) fee, but it seems like TouchDown and some of the other recommended apps require MS Exchange.
2) If I do need MS Exchange, what's the best way for me to do that?
3) I remember reading that the upcoming Droid Pro (for Verizon) will have the inherent ability to sync Outlook and the Droid (I'm not positive but I believe it will) - does this mean that there will be a 3rd party application, or an update to Froyo 2.2, that will be released afterward to allow this with other Droids?

Basically, it's pretty simple. I want to be able to control how frequently my Exchange email syncs based on what time of the day it is and/or my location. Does Locale have this functionality? Just reading the documentation, I don't think it does, but I'm not too anxious to spend $10 to find out. Could there be a plugin or something for Locale that would do it?
My basic beef with my Eris is that when I'm at work, with my email running and I get an email, even if I retrieve it and mark it as read, my phone will still beep and retrieve the email when it does its sync cycle, (which I have set to every 10 minutes) so I'll basically get the email twice, even if I've read it on my computer 10 minutes before. I'd like to be able to set it so that I can control how often it syncs when I'm at work, either based on the time or location.
Is this possible? Anybody have any suggestions?
I have a HTC Thunderbolt and use all the Google tools for my calendar, email and contacts. At work I have Outlook 2007. I would REALLY like to have my Outlook calendar (at minimum) pushed/synchronized to my phone. Is there an app or a way to configure this to work? Right now I am using the Outlook Web Mobile app for my email and I can view my calendar there but I would like schedule/calendar all in one place.

I have/had a T-Mobile Dash and I love it but its time to move on The 2 biggest deals breakers for me was no tethering (sp?) with my laptop and no sync for outlook (basically for calender as contacts get less updating and go directly on the phone) Tether- hopefully someone will make it work (come on, I got the internet on my Dash for 5.99 with just 2 proxy settings) Well back to the point
There are a couple of ways to get your contacts to your G1. I tried downloading the Wrike program and guess what, it does not work because I don't have Exchange Server 2007 yet maybe 90% of this site doesn't either I tried exporting my Outlook contacts into a CSV file then importing them into my Google contacts but some names did not come up properly, so that did not work.............
I tried gsyncit, google calendar sync and they always miss 20% of my entries. I have 10 years worth of important calendar entries (about 20000). And I know the reason why they miss it because there are sometimes server issues and when Google thinks your spamming, they block you. So I want to directly offline sync from my outlook. No way to directly sync from Outlook calendar? No 3rd party sync software works 100%.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently using Google Calendar on my desktop to sync with Outlook, strictly as a "backup" for my Outlook calendar, in case something were to happen and I needed a backup of my Outlook Calendar. I tried using Google Sync/Calendar on my Droid Incredible but had some problems and decided to go back to using HTC sync. Since that time, I have hard reset my phone but am now having problems with some appts showing up in duplicate on my Outlook calendar, My Google calendar and on my phone.
Even though I am only using HTC Sync on my phone and only using Google Calendar/Sync on my desktop, could this be the reason for these duplicates in all 3 places? Do I need to stop using Google calendar/Google sync with my Outlook to prevent this from happening further? Also, the only reason I stopped using Google Calendar for my Droid was that it seems you cannot keep more than a month or so worth of past appt's in your calendar and I need to go back at least a year for work. Does anyone else find this limitation or anything else about Google Calendar annoying and limiting?
