Android based video converters?there's this thread - Converting video to .WMV - but those are windows based and i was hoping to work on the device alone. Play store has a ton of free and paid apps.

I sometimes download some TV stuff. The formats are MPEG-4 and AVI. I tried to just drag and drop them onto my XT720. When I tried to play them back, it didn't work. Are there any free video converters?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of planning to switch from a 64GB iPhone 4S to the Samsung Galaxy S3, and one of the things I will miss is the iTunes on-the-fly audio conversion for songs that are 256 kbps to 128 kbps, which allows me to put most of my 100+ GB music collection on the phone at once.
I dont think there are any PC based software that can do the same for Andriod, and even with a potential 96Gb on the phone at once, I don't think my song collection will fit unless I convert them to 128 kbps. So it appears my only solution is to actually convert my song library to 128 kbps (and store seperately) prior to moving them over to my phone.
Any PC based software that can do batch conversions from AAC 256 kbps to 128 kbps while maintainig all the metadata (lyrics, art, genres, etc)? I have over 12,000 songs so it has to be a batch process.
Obviously the EVO has 720p recording, and purportedly so will the iphone, and there on, I am sure the windows 7 phone. They all will sport 8mp cams like that of the incredible. Does anyone actually know what prevents the HTC Incredible from recording in HD? Anyone with any insight into that sorta thing feel free to chime in. Cuz dang some HD recording would actually make me use the camcorder app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was experimenting with QEMU, x86 emulator on Android on my Asus Memo FHD tab which is already based on an x86 Atom architecture.
I see way slower speeds (unusable) than I read about arm based counterparts. I assume this is because QEMU assumes ARM architecture and the x86 atom is also emulating ARM.
-Is there an other way to emulate a complete x86 system faster on this architecture?
What are C based services and Java based services in Android? What is similarity and dissimilarity between them ? Are C based services available in Android?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like to sleep at night! When I do I would love it if I could turn Google Talk off but have it switch on again in the morning without me having to remember to do it. At the moment I have an app which puts the phone into airplane mode and I set a time to turn it back on. If I could do the same with Google Talk it would be awesome.
Any app that would turn it off for a set period of time, or maybe at a certan time of the day check to see if it is off and start it up again?

Now I have a couple of games on my current jb leak stock rom which I want to back up. These games are more than 500 mb each when I downloaded from play store. Thing is when I take their backup using titanium backup and check the backup folder size, it shows only about 20 mb in size. I already put a check on backup external data to "always". I don't want to lose progress and redo those games all over.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having some problems with the porting of a rom, my phone is a clone of the phone from which i'm taking the rom (My phone is a NGM Legend 2, which is also a clone of Gionee GN868, and the original is Blu Vivo 4.3) the only thing which is really different are the mounting positions of the internal memory.
In Blu Vivo 4.3 the system partition is mounted on /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 and the data partition is on /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 while in the mine they are mounted on /dev/block/mmcblk0p4 and /dev/block/mmcblk0p6.
I changed them in the updater-script so i'm able to install the rom, but i had to replace the boot.img with the one from my rom because the phone wasn't booting up, but i can't install any app from google play store (error 110) or any apk ("app not installed" error).
I 've been using my android from last 4 months and i just wanted to know how to make a rom based on stock rom or how can i get the stock rom which is just like custom rom in the sense of flashing/installing it...

The so called "default video player" has been uninstalled though. Have cleared cache, clear defaults, clear data for the browser but still do not get a prompt to choose a video player while playing videos from the browser.
Also installed the "Default App Manager" to check for the default video player. However, it indicates no defaults to play any videos (either from file or streaming videos).

I watch a lot of anime from Nwanime or TV series from Couchtuner When I open these video webpages on Android I have to nagivate like on a desktop browser (tiny play button and maximise button and seek bar) On the iphone the video would open in the default video player.
How can I enable my Android device to open these videos with a default video player like mxplayer for example?
*note. Mxplayer is already my dafault player, so if I open an actual video file it plays in mxplayer. My problem is with web video
I have a problem with my Onda VX610W Deluxe using ICS beta1, when i use video player like MX Video Player or mVideo Player - everything runs fine but with additional subtitles that have wrong character set and sometimes wrong sync, subtitles from MX Video player or mVideo are fine but Onda`s Hardware decoder overrides screen and inputs additional subtitles it looks like this:

View 1 Replies View RelatedAm I wrong in thinking that a dd based tool would be better than having to rely on a 3rd party recovery? If you used to dd, you wouldn't have to deal with any of that stuff right? Could you not just make images of all the partitions of your device and store them on your computer as backup? Then if you get bricked, could you not use those images again and just re-image the drive?
That's the problem I'm having with my device. My buttons will no longer function so I can't flash anything in the recovery and using Odin (Samsung) to flash works but no existing roms or kernels that I can find will fix the touchscreen.
However, I can access the device through ADB and I'm assuming I could get the device to show its partitions on Linux right? So then could I use someone else's existing partitions and re-image those on my device?

TeamSeven,Bulletproff, and elementalX all do not work! How I can get the HTc logo to be a menu button? with or without kernal.
