Motorola Droid :: Can't Root For Moto Froyo 2.2 FRG22
Sep 13, 2010Yes i recently had to flash my phone back to 2.1 which i did in a flash then i waited till it did a normal update to which i though would be FRG1B but to my surprise it was FRG22. Now i installed Easy Root and tried rooting it said it worked but it didn't so then i tried Universalandriodroot and it didn't work either.Now i tried to flash back to 2.1 and then just root from there but this is were my problem happens. When i try to Flash i do the normal plug up usb and restart phone and while waiting on it to boot hold up on the D Pad and Nothing happens i did this 15 times it will not go into the menu at all.

This kernel is intended for use with the OTA 1.6 update ROM andmicrohaxo's Behold II OTA 1.6 Tweaked ROM. If the phone fails to boot try flashing the "unroot" file at the end of the post or reflash your previous ROM.
2shared - download Root-BH2-1.6.zip
Unzip and flash with Odin. Install Superuser.apk by running on the phone off the SD card or pushing to /system/app with ADB after flashing for system install.
No App2SD in this one.
Includes:
/system is now rw by default ADB is root by default 'su' and 'busybox' version 1.16.1 (located at /sbin)
Superuser Whitelist 2.2.2 (by ChainsDD) installed separately
If there is a lot of interest in getting App2SD in this I may revisit it. For now my Android time will be shifting to BH2 ROM development.
If you ever want to "unroot" flash this file: 2shared - download OTAkernel16.tar.md5..and uninstall Superuser Whitelist.
General :: Contacts From Moto-X To HTC One?
Mar 27, 2014I had my Moto-X set up so nicely! When someone calls or I get a text, up pops their picture. When I want to call someone I just start to type their name and their pic pops up with the phone number. Then I picked up a Mo-G and with the Moto transfer app I had the Mo-G set up the same way, in a heartbeat.
So now I'm rollin' with a HTC One on T-Mobile and I'd love to have it set up the same way. They have some kinda 'migrate' app, and I tried using that, then there is always bluetooth but alas... I can't for the life of me figure out how to transfer all of my contacts from either one of the Motorola's to the htc One and have all of the info and pics. I've looked for apps, I've tried using a usb cable on this PC but nothing seems to work. I'm sure I could set it all up again manually, but shouldn't I just be able to transfer all of my contacts with a few buttons?? I have the 'People' app on the Motos but I don't see that on the HTC.

Feb 12, 2014I have a new Moto X. My gmail account has two other email accounts forwarded to it (an msn account and another from a website I manage). I receive the messages from those accounts on gmail on my phone, but when I try to reply or forward those emails, I get a failure message.

Currently on the display is the Google icon which takes me to Google Now. Is there a method of adding more icons to the display?

Swipe right for Chrome
Swipe left for Whatsapp
There looks to be plenty of room on the display which got me thinking.

I have been trying to go back to the stock firmware using this guide: [URL] ..... but I have a problem. The adb drivers for my device work fine when I am in the system or in the recovery, but don't work in the bootloader. I am able to type "adb reboot bootloader" when I'm in the system/recovery and it will follow the command, but once I get into the bootloader it stops. When I type "adb devices" a line saying "List of devices attached" comes up with nothing underneath it.

Apr 24, 2012I'm a WinMob head but have been charged with a very important task; to retrieve all data from a frind's decased son's cell phone (Motorola Cliq Tmobile). I Pulled the SD card and transfered the pictures etc but the videos keep giving me a error; is there a trick to zipping them or something I can do to get them off?
My other issue is that the phone is a zombie-brick....by which I mean it will not charge enough to stay on; it charges enough to auto reboot and that taps the battery and it crashes over and over again. I bought a new battery and got the same results; the charging indicator shows it is charging but the phone does not show a charger is connected when it is on and I have spent the little charge that was on the new battery.

Apr 10, 2014I'm using a stock Moto X international GSM version from the Motorola US store in the UK with a Giffgaff SIM card (with their limited goodybag that allows tethering). Using Android 4.4.2.
3G Internet on the phone itself works fine, but when I try to use the stock USB Tethering, Wifi Tethering or Bluetooth Tethering to use the 3G from my computer, all my packets seem to get dropped (ping and dig hang - computer is on Linux; tried on 2 computers).
USB tethering when the phone is on Wifi works fine, only when it's on 3G nothing works.
I have adb set up and working, and as expected a ping from adb shell works fine.

General :: Moto X - Android OS Using High Background Data In 4.4.2
Apr 29, 2014I am using a MOTO X with android 4.4.2. The android OS has high background data usage only in cellular connection. There is no such issue in WIFI connection. I hav turned off auto backup, deleted Google+ and turned off all the syncs. Even after restricting background data the android os keeps using mobile data. I have done the factory reset once but even that didn't solve the problem.

Mar 19, 2014Id like to transfer the trackid app history from my xperia mini pro to my moto g.
Ive tried it with titanium backup, but the app crashes on load using the moto g.
I've googled this to death and cant find much.
The app on my xperia was built in to the phone and seems to be developed by gracenote.
There is a Sony version on play store which is virtually the same but updated and slicker looking.
Ideally I'd like to use the new app, using the history from the old app, but have read the databases are incompatible.
I've looked for the file that holds the history but cant find anything.
As a last resort, I'll start again with the new app, but would like to extract the history from the old trackid on my xperia and save as a text file. I dont really want to have to type /write down the list manually!

Jul 3, 2013I use the Verizon stock email app that came with my Moto Droid Razr Maxx, upgraded to ICS. Emails are synched with both my laptop and my Droid RM. Today emails stopped being received by my phone although the computer still receives them.
I have changed no settings. I can send emails from my phone just fine. How do I fix this? I want to be sure I lose nothing from my inbox or outbox on the phone.

At the moment I have an app which puts the phone into airplane mode and I set a time to turn it back on. If I could do the same with Google Talk it would be awesome.

Mar 8, 2014I'm having some problems with the porting of a rom, my phone is a clone of the phone from which i'm taking the rom (My phone is a NGM Legend 2, which is also a clone of Gionee GN868, and the original is Blu Vivo 4.3) the only thing which is really different are the mounting positions of the internal memory.
In Blu Vivo 4.3 the system partition is mounted on /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 and the data partition is on /dev/block/mmcblk0p5 while in the mine they are mounted on /dev/block/mmcblk0p4 and /dev/block/mmcblk0p6.
I changed them in the updater-script so i'm able to install the rom, but i had to replace the boot.img with the one from my rom because the phone wasn't booting up, but i can't install any app from google play store (error 110) or any apk ("app not installed" error).
