I want to know is there any way to block some specific sites on an android phone?
(im getting 10 or so android phones for my workers and i dont want them hangin on Fb,yt,etc all day long ,i know i would xD) I dont mean the individual apps (im locking the market,so no probs with that.) but in the default browser itself..so that you can't type in www fb.com ... ?

I have followed a tutorial to install a custom ROM (bootloader locked) on my Sony Xperia Arc S, the last Jelly Dream ROM.
But at the end of the operation, after the reboot, the smartphone gets stuck on the sony logo.
i lost my phone today and i called my carrier and they said they could blacklist/block my phone so no one can access it!so i gave them my IMEI number, but he couldn't answer if rooting / flashing roms would affect this!

First time poster but been reading for a week or so since i got my hero. I rooted with fresh 1.1 and put a new kernal in and it flies....love it.
My question is can you add widgets from websites like espn...like the widgets that you can put on your desktop. Im just curious cuz i want to add a widget from a site called "rotoworld.com" its a fantasy sports site and there is no widget obviously on the phone like that. I can add it to my desktop on my computer or igoogle(not sure what that is).
Does anybody know of another website other than youtube that allows you to watch videos on the droid?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a Samsung vibrant. But one thing that really bugs me is I can not view foreign websites on it. By that I mean say I visit a Indian website with Indian alphabet characters as its font...I can not not actually read it since I get random symbols. But on my old nexus one running 2.2 i could view the page perfectly.
Any suggestions on how to get the vibrant to be able to view the foreign webpages with foreign languages as main type? Is it a 2.2 thing?
I type out websites on Whatsapp and in my browser on a regular basis, but with auto-complete I end up saving and typing words that I didn't intend to because of the format of a URL. I could turn auto-complete off, but I still need it when I'm doing regular texting.
Is there any keyboard with a button that can turn auto-complete on/off when pressed? Or perhaps a home screen shortcut that can do this?
I can't even make a custom shortcut to the language & keyboard, and doing it manually takes too long.
When using Adfree, some sites will not work (specifically GameFAQs) and you cannot access some of the free gem/currency offers on some games. Is there a way to allow ads on some apps or websites but not others?

Recently, he's been going into places in my phone that I don't want him to go in. My email, my contacts, and other files. Once, he even sent out a massive test to random people on my contact list. On the Incredible, however, those ads still get through and it's annoying of course. If I could just even get rid of the Viagra ads, I'd be happy, because there wouldn't be much spam left if they were gone. I'm using GV for texting and want to completely drop my texting plan but also don't want to get hit with loads of texts coming to the wrong number. Is there just a way to prevent incoming texts altogether?
