Update: According to posters below it doesn't work on their fascinate. You can control the screen brightness, by swiping right or left, up where the notification bar is. if it doesn't work, try turning off power saving mode. settings>sound and display>power saving mode uncheck
View 20 Replies View RelatedWhen I set my new phone up, it automatically asked what functions I wanted associated with certain swipes.. ie... swipe from right to left to delete, left to right to mark unread, etc... well, I accidentally set it backwards to what I'm used to and can't figure out how to change it back! I've been accidentally deleting things I don't want to delete... how can I change what the swipes do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been looking up everywhere as to how to make apps, but everything i see is too complicated and i don't understand it. What i want to do is create a simple app that has a bunch of pages that you swipe to get to the next page, each page will just be a picture with a single button on it that links to some text. How would i go about doing this? (i have no programming experience)
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy wife recently upgraded from Droid RAZR Maxx to a Galaxy S5. one of the things she misses is the old contact manager on the RAZR - because it has a feature that allows her to look at contact details and then swipe left or right to the previous or next contact.
I looked through a few of the more popular contact managers out there and couldn't find one that had this feature.
I was wondering if I can add icons to the display that comes up when I swipe up from the home button on the Moto G.
Currently on the display is the Google icon which takes me to Google Now. Is there a method of adding more icons to the display?
e.g. Swipe up for Google Now
Swipe right for Chrome
Swipe left for Whatsapp
There looks to be plenty of room on the display which got me thinking.
Ok, so recently (out of the blue) I went into the gallery on my Android and all the thumbnails were a plain image with a padlock. When I open images, I can view them individually but I cannot swipe to different images. I have no third party applications installed..

I couldnt turn it back on but like the next 5 sec. it automatically turned on. now, I cant turn it off or swipe to unlock. my screen isn't broken because I can easily go to my notification screen and tap anything on there and it will still work. the clock is frozen but it will still show when it is charging or not. (I got this phone only a few months ago)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am in love with the swipe gesture that exdialer has, that is swipe left for sms swipe right for call. But there are a lack of themes for exdialer and also it lacks contacts export and import, ability to set specific ringtone for one contact, etc. So what I wanna know is there any other dialer with the swipe gestures? Or is there anyway to bring it to the MIUI dialer?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAs stated in thread title: Is there a way to disable the swipe between tabs gesture for Chrome on Android?
The gesture interferes with my ability to use certain websites that I now rely on that currently do not have an app for Android. I've tried searching for an answer to this and I've just been flooded sifting through irrelevant results for Mac, custom ROMs, etc. So far, the only solution to this has been to use another browser, but I enjoy the seamlessness of Chrome's remote tabs feature. I would like to know if there is an advanced settings section similar to "chrome://flags" for the desktop or a workaround that involves root.
1 for up over the dock, and one up but starting above the dock? (ADW has this but i can't tell if NP...since i don't have Prime.
View 6 Replies View Related"swipe to archive/delete in notifications" function in Gmail 4.3? Specifically, not being able to?
After upgrading to Gmail 4.3 on both of my devices (TF101 running Team EOS 4, and One S running LiquidSmooth 2.1), I had the ability to archive/delete from notifications. However, I noticed that this function was missing yesterday; it's gone back simply to "swipe to dismiss".
I've tried reinstalling, to no avail.
I wanted to disable the googlenow / google search swipe up launch from the bottom bar.
The reason - to use swipepad for another gesture.
I have seen apps in the market that disable the launch of the google app, but the ring still shows up and cannot be used for another app.
At the moment I am using CM 7.1 on my Desire HD.
I was wondering if it is possible that when I swipe to clear a notification (in particular messages, I used GO SMS for text messages and Whatsapp) that it counts as a 'read' message. At the moment it just removes it from the notification bar although the message is still unread.
I hope I made clear what I am trying to get across. Is what I am looking for even possible?

I am receiving many emails from different accounts (approx 6 different accounts) and I would like to have a way to read the emails from the notification panel and mark them as "read" or "delete".
And, in the mail app, the best will be with a consolidated view for unread messages.
I don't want an application that "proxifies" our data (man in the middle; and they have the password of our mailbox).
I have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that Google maps is always taking up a big portion of the battery in the battery menu. If I freeze it with titanium would that make a significant difference? I use it seldom enough to go thru the trouble of unfreezing it when needed if it's worth it..

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've had a Droid X2 for almost 2 years, and as phones usually do, the battery life became pretty bad. It would get to 5% and then quickly die halfway through the day.
I purchased a new battery, and found it to be just as bad (supposedly). It would be down to 5% by noon without much usage, so I thought maybe the problem was with my phone and not an old battery. I'd just turn it off or try to find a charger...
It took me a few days to realize that it lasts hours past when it gets to 5%. HOURS. It reached 5% at about 1pm EST today, I used it my whole commute home on the train, made a two 5-10 minute phone calls this evening, and now past 9pm it still hasn't died.
So, it's not the battery. It's not the worst problem to have... but it would be really nice to know how much battery I have left.
Note: I rooted my phone about 1 week before I got the new battery.
I am so sick of having my phone ring while it is in my pocket and then when I go to take it out of my pocket to check and see who it is it ends up answering the call because it swipes down.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo its only when the phone is ringing. The swipe to get it out of the locked mode can be so unresponsive that I miss the phone call. Is there a calibration for the screen?
