I know the zeiki TB782B is cheap decent tablet but the video buffering from streaming websites is just a killer some sites are better than others Its not my internet speed that's good,but is there anyway I can improve this issue by downloading an app or some kind of hack or update?

I can start streaming a video perefectly. However, if i pause it to go do something, or to let it pre-buffer, and i play it again, it will play for a little then stop. I look at the seekbar and it says its fully buffered. However, its not and it doesnt play anything and just sits their saying its buffering.
My guessing, well first attempt and finding the culprit, is that the service that is processing the video gets prematurely terminated and restarted thus returning that the buffer is complete.
Each time i hit install on the android update it starts then i get this image before it ends ... how can i get it to install properly ?

Is there a way to change the buffer size in the media player on Android? I'm trying to stream video to mobile devices over rtsp. It works fine, but on android v1.6+ the buffer overflows leading to degraded video quality. Is there any way to configure the media player to use a bigger buffer, or take any other measures to prevent overflow?

Since the buffering of the video takes about 8-10 seconds, the layout comes up with the Clock, but the VideoView stays blank. What I want to achieve is this:
- Display an ImageView for the 10s while the video is buffering
- Detect when the video is ready to be played (onPrepared?)
- Show the Clock and VideoView and start the Video
I have a problem streaming live video files. When I stream a file say of duration 5 minutes, it stops after streaming 2 to 3 minutes and enters in to endless buffering state. The VideoViews's OnBufferingListener is endlessly executed, however it shows that the buffering is not progressing anymore : MediaPlayer's buffer says it has buffered for example 90% whereas when I call videoView.getBufferPercentage(), I get something very low, like 1% or 5% ... After a while in the buffering state, the application crashes. It seems like the buffering is taking all the memory.

I am developing the application which displays Video on the SurfaceHolder. When i run my video it plays well. But if i switch my application using "Home key", & go to some other application. Now if i come back by long Home key press to my application, my video does not get displayed but audio continues.
This happens because, onPause() is called for Activity when Application is switched. Thus the "SurfaceHolder" is destroyed, & next time no video is displayed.
As mentioned audio stops after some random number of times when played from either Music/Video player. After some debugging, I found that the problem is:
In "android_audio_output.cpp"->audout_thread_func() there is a call to wait(iAudioThreadSem->Wait()) just before the while(1) and it is waiting indefinitely for something.
Can anybody tell me what is it waiting for and why is it not able to come out? From what I can understand, it is waiting for a signal (semaphore) but where is it expecting a signal from?
I got this weird issue on all my devices where after a certain point the video freezes, buffers for ~8 seconds, plays for a couple and repeat. This is not video specific and changing the quality does not fix this, it just makes the problem appear later on. In HQ quality, after about 1:45 minutes of playing flawlessly it starts buffering the whole damn time. SQ quality can play up to 3-4 minutes before any issues arise.
This is on a broad range of devices, both mine and those of friends. My own Samsung Galaxy S2 running CM10.1 and Cube U30GT running CM10, but had the issue on stock, and a stock Galaxy Note and HTC Hero 2.
Other info. It's not network related. Happens on both wifi and 3g and on different connections/ISPs. My own Internet connection clocks up to 20mbps and has no problem playing any YT video on my PC. Other "streaming" video stuff work great. Twitch.tv plays great as does dailymotion. Other players, other than the default YT app, have no issues playing videos even on HQ. YT through the browser works fine but somehow doesn't let me switch to HQ and the "UI" generally feels bad. Feedly (which is great btw), has a sort of plugin that uses the YT app to play videos natively. Any videos played in the feedly app, using this "plugin" play great even in HQ, which is weird. I've tried reinstalling, uninstalling, stalling, killing, maiming, clearing data+cache, completely wiping the devices and sacrificing firstborns to Lucifer.
This feels like a caching issue of the youtube app. It feels like it starts caching up to a point (playing great in the process) and at some points cache fills up and starts deleting in order to make space to cache further. That leads to the pause and buffering of the video.
How do i remove the buffering sound from an radio app for android? My phone is rooted. I transferred the app to my pc and then I used apktools for extracting. The extracted .apk contains a few maps with a lot of xml and smali files and a few image files. I could'nt find any audio files in any of these maps (which could be the irritating loading sound that i want to remove).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded my Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 all to Android 4.4 and as soon as I upgraded my Wi-Fi has been awful.The Wi-Fi is incredibly unstable, steaming media has major buffering / intermittency issues, messages sent over instant messaging apps are sometimes instant and sometimes take 30+ seconds to send.
Skype is the most telling of the issues as it randomly loses connection and my notifications literally never come through..Router Wi-Fi Settings: I've tried Channels, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11

I have a Nexus 7 tablet and every few days I notice a few new apps on the device. I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was one of those with a "bad" battery. I had the automatic 10% loss of the battery after about 20 minutes of the phone being on. I would barely use my phone during the day (check text messages and email 5 or 6 times and maybe 1 15 minute phone call, and 10-15 minutes of internet browsing) and have the battery down to 20-25% by the time i got home after an 8 hr workday. So I called verizon, explained the problem and they sent me a new stock dinc battery in 2 days. I will say that that when I first got my phone months (as a pre-order), I played with it before fully charging the battery. So maybe I am at fault for making a "bad" battery. No chances this time around. This time i cut the phone off, put the new battery in, and let it charge for a solid 8 hours. All I have to say is WOW. Now i know what it is like to be one of you guys who say "what battery problems?" I worked my 8 hr day, used the phone the same as I usually do and I still have 85% battery left. I never lost that intial 10% of the bat either. I don't know if not charging my battery properly the first time hurt my first battery or if I just had a bad one. But for all of you who get a new dinc, charge the battery right the first time is my advice.

Would any micro USB 1A charger be safe to use with the phone? It's just I'd like to have a spare charger to take with me when at work/away on business, and having found that just USB from the PC is far to slow, I wanted to make sure it was ok? 2. Is regularly (daily) overnight charging ok? It's just that i have read it's not great to leave it on charge once it's full. That seems problematic to me if a overnight charge = 7 hours charging, but the phone only needs 3 hours to charge at least 90%. 3. I seem to get about 20-22 minutes of heavy usage (Wi-Fi on, browsing / using apps) to 10% of the battery at the moment. The phone is only 1 week old though, am I likely to see an improvement, and if so what sort of one?
View 4 Replies View RelatedBefore the update I would bring my phone to work at 100% and with moderate usage, maybe some Pandora/web browsing and it would be nearly dead by the time I brought it home 8-9 hours later. Or even at night lets say it was at 100% when I went to bed, I'd wake up without it plugged in 6-8 hours later and it would be down around 50% battery. Now the difference is almost night and day. In those same time periods I'm coming home from work now with 60-70% battery when I had 10-20% before. And in stand-by the phone hardly uses any battery, at most 1-2% per hour. I am now extremely satisfied with the battery use, it's much improved from the Palm Pre I came from. Also, before the update my phone was power cycling/resetting about every 10-20 mins. I would also experience times of extreme lag when trying to either open multiple apps at once or go through the menus very fast. I even had an an appointment setup at Sprint to have them look at the phone. However, once I applied the update the phone is much faster and I haven't experienced so much as a hiccup. Anyone else experiencing these positive changes?

View 31 Replies View RelatedMy phone all but died yesterday (see my other post) and was forced to do a factory reset. I went through and only re-installed apps that did not state about preventing the phone from sleeping. Most days I unplug my phone at 6am and its completely dead by 2pm. I unplugged today at 8am and at 2pm its at 75% to 80% (normally unplugging at 8 it would be at 30% at 2pm. I dont know if its the factory reset, or not installing apps that keep the phone from sleeping or what the deal is, but wow. My usage has been the same today if not more than normal cause of reinstalling my apps and re setting everything up from doing the reset. When I looked at my phone a few minutes ago to see if I have to do my normal afternoon recharge and it was still near full.

I'm text up to 100 texts a day tops, pretty heavy internet (checking work emails all day), a few phone calls here and there. Maybe some music here and there, nothing to justify the less than desirable battery life. Spare parts never showed anything out of line either. Rooting was something I had no desire to do (I tried it and found it useless for me). Like a few others, I'm patiently waiting for *whispers* THE UPDATE. Anyways I turned off Sense the other day and DRASTICALLY improved my battery life. Sense ON- wifi off, gps off, location off, mobile internet off. pretty much EVERYTHING off. By 1pm my battery was usually 50-60%. By 10pm my battery was dead. Sense OFF - wifi on and mobile internet on ALL DAY. Now by 5pm my battery is usually around 70%. Running music/HEAVY internet for the rest of the night leaves my battery at 35% by night end.

Issues I was having:
1- Blank display during a call. I have been having the issue of the phone display going blank during a call. The way it's designed to work is that when you place the phone next to your ear the display turns off to 1- save battery and 2- reduce heat. Mine was staying off which made it impossible to traverse a voice response system.
2- Lag during dialing.
3- Time without a signal. ** Retracted - This issue still exists. After rebooting multiple times the issue is back.
Fix - Reset to factory defaults. So far so good. Best the phone has been since updating from 1.5.
