Commands are about to boost up the reading speed of SDcard, type like
/system/xbin/echo "4096" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb;
/system/xbin/echo "4096" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/default/read_ahead_kb;
Actually I modified these files with RecoveryFileManager at first but I found that was failed after I reboot the device, so I just type these commands into the init.d, but after that, I just find my status bar and notification bar was lost and disappeared, not only home screen but also all around the surface in the system.

Jul 24, 2010I have been using Handcent SMS for about a day because the original/stock messaging app wouldn't always deliver my multiple/group messages. Handscent SMS was workign fine until suddenly all my sms's dissapered from both the original/stock messaging app and from the additional Handscent app I downlaoded. Does anyone have any idea? Many have reported on other sites they have had this problem on "Android" phones especially on the 1.6 Versions. It is not nessarliy Handcent SMS related as some people's dissapered from the stock app.

Nov 19, 2010This is really just a silly thing but it's bugging me - I've put the Android keyboard on the phone after the upgrade to 2.1 and the preview of the smileys has disappeared
I can see them in their raw form by long pressing the smiley face on the number pad, but I'm not fluent in smiley language! and also, not all of them translate anyway; I can't get the angry face anymore for example.
Is there any way of getting the smiley page to work as it did on 1.8, where the More button would bring up the pictures? (can you tell I have a banging headache this morning, having trouble with words.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Does Not Have 3g In Status Bar And Cannot Send Mms?
Jun 21, 2010Two Xperia X10 mini phones both set up in exactly same way and on same shared business contract.
Both sat side by side on my desk.
All settings match each other and has been mms enabled by my network provider.
One has 3g in status bar and can send via mms the other does not have 3g in status bar and cannot send mms.
The one with 3g shows up as 'Connected' in Mobile Network State under phone status.
The one without 3g shows up as' Unconnected' in Mobile Network State under phone status.
Have done manual search for the network provider on the phone without 3g to make it think it is 're-booting' to no avail.

Oct 12, 2010I've had my X10i for a month now and have added several apps from the Marketplace. I am Orange in the UK and have also had the new shared settings for using the phone on the T-Mobile Network. Earlier I received some text messages and a missed call but was unable to drag the status bar down to check who they were from. I switched off phone and re-started but have found that the "Activating Phone" icon kicks in before I can complete my Sim lock number and press ok. The phone just wants to stay in the "Activating Phone" mode but doesn't start up properly. If I enter the pin correctly and press ok Very quickly I can start the phone ok.

I then went to settings>storage & 0.00 is available! How can her tablet be full when she only has the factory preset apps on it now? However, although it seems all the applications are working again, when I unlock the screen, I get a black screen - no desktop, no application list, but with the notification bar on top which works properly. The clock and calendar are displayed on the unlock screen and the alarm clock woke me up... I got some notifications on the black screen: process.android.acore, process.android.gapps and process.android.vending stopped working, process system stopped working.

Apr 16, 2013My Motorola Atrix 4G has lost its RAM. I have no idea of what's going on, except that from previous 1G ( i think it was like 700 or 800 available) I have only 300M left. The RAM HAS JUST DISAPPEARED. I'm not talking about Ram being occupied by apps and processes. I was having some issues with it later, so I recently performed a hard reset, clearing also the internal memory and the memory card.
