I don't want other people to read my SMS when they holding my Xperia X10 Mini Pro in their hand. Is there any way I can disable SMS notification on the Status bar?

Its happy to see that there is a inbuilt battery status widget in android 2.1. But sometimes it hangs and % value isn't changing in widget. At the same time its working correctly in
Settings ----> About phone ----> status ----> battery level
If I restarts the phone widget is also working.
I a not sure what i did for the status bar/notification bar to go missing and unable to bring it back, pls help me.

Even wen it is set to 'eneabled' my fone will now not:
- roam for signal
- download apps
It was never there to start with and everthing was fine!
How do I get it to go back to normal?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk basically i've set a song as my tone for notification and it works fine.... except that when i recive an SMS etc it playes the whole song regarless whether i view the SMS or not and refuses to stop :? this is rather annoying meaning i have to put my phone on silent till the song has finished :/ On my old SE phone the music stopped as soon as i had viewed the SMS. Is there anyway to do this on Xperia X10 Mini Pro? (aside from physicaly editing and shortening the music track..)

The green LED which flashes to notify of the event is actually quite bright in a dark room and ended up waking me up (in fact, I was quite confused at first as to what on earth it could be lol!). Does anyone know if there is an app which controls either the brightness of the LED notification or can disable the LED notification altogether?

I have en event with one our notification befor the event starts... I get the notification with the popup, after I read it I delete the statusbar entry (is this the fault?) After ~ 25mins I will get the same notification? I haven't used the calender so much before for notifications, but now it's the 3. time I notice this problem.

I am not able to drag down the notification area when I am holding the mobile in portrait mode.
If I shift to landscape mode (by sliding the qwerty keyboard out), then when I press at the top status bar, I can drag the notification area down.
Can't find way to stop my messages showing in the notification bar while the phone is locked.
Its weird. It only happens sometimes. Is it a bug or a setting?
Seems silly that anyone could read your messages even if the phone is locked.
Please is it possible for me to browse the internet on my pc using my sonyericsson xperia x10 mini pro. Dont know how cause the phone doesnt support Pc suite, only Pc companion, and hence I dont know how else to do it.

But...
After the phone has been off, the camera works fine the first time I start it.
And if I close the camera application and start it again straight away it also works fine.
But if I wait for maybe half an hour or more and then open the camera application, the phone reboots itself.
This is very repeatable and it looks like there's something wrong in the software or so.
xperia mini can't send messages to multiple recipients what gives?

It has a problem that every few days or so the screen locks up and becomes unresponsive and the only way to reset it is to do a battery pull. My question basically is should I take it back to the shop, or is it likely to need to have android reinstalled or something?
It did this on the very first startup after unboxing, it froze up when choosing the language setting, so obviously it is unrelated to any other apps i have installed. At the time I didnt think it was too much of a problem but then as I say, it started doing it every few days.

I have 2 very good headsets at the moment from previous phones but unfortuneately my mini pro cannot find them.

Facebook,gmail,gtalk,android market,youtube etc. dont work at all..Each of them gives an error that you dont have an active connection! All of the above does open via the normal browser on mini pro..but not through these builtin apps!

View 2 Replies View RelatedTwo Xperia X10 mini phones both set up in exactly same way and on same shared business contract.
Both sat side by side on my desk.
All settings match each other and has been mms enabled by my network provider.
One has 3g in status bar and can send via mms the other does not have 3g in status bar and cannot send mms.
The one with 3g shows up as 'Connected' in Mobile Network State under phone status.
The one without 3g shows up as' Unconnected' in Mobile Network State under phone status.
Have done manual search for the network provider on the phone without 3g to make it think it is 're-booting' to no avail.
Does anyone know what the padlock on the status bar is for or what it is?

Is this kind of 'laptop' jobs possible in it?I know a E63 or E72 or BB is most suitable. But I love it's above addl. qualities.

There is no android market icon on home screen so i searched "android market" on internet and using internet browse version.
I can access android market (androidzoom?) and find applicatin, but it says " yo do not have permission to open this page. market://~~~(url)".
I can do nothing without applications...
Any way to do this in 2.1?
