View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Status Bar disappeared... But I can't swipe it Down.
my phone Xperia J ST26i
ROM JB 11.2.A.0.21
Got my HTC Desire Z flashed to CM10.1 and have some tweaked but after I take two optimized commands into the file
/system/etc/init.d/00banner
Commands are about to boost up the reading speed of SDcard, type like
/system/xbin/echo "4096" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb;
/system/xbin/echo "4096" > /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/default/read_ahead_kb;
Actually I modified these files with RecoveryFileManager at first but I found that was failed after I reboot the device, so I just type these commands into the init.d, but after that, I just find my status bar and notification bar was lost and disappeared, not only home screen but also all around the surface in the system.
Except for browser, maps and market. I was browsing google images hit the home button and they were gone. Restarted the phone and theyre still gone. I could manually drag everything back to place but is there an easier way to restore it the way I had it?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a device with no hard buttons, on which I need to get Android running. The basic port is done, but I need to provide access to Home, Menu, and Back. The Archos tablets put soft buttons in the status bar, and I'm told that the android-x86 folks have implemented this as well (though I haven't found it in their source yet).

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
I am designing a home screen widget. I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedTwo things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is more of an annoyance, but whenever I reply to a message off the home screen widget, it automatically defaults to the home number for that contact, instead of replying to the same (cell) number that it was sent from. If I go into the messaging app, it works as it should (replies to the same number).

Take a look at the scribd poster here: Droid X Ad Tears Into iPhone 4's 'Grip of Death' Signal Issues | Android Phone Fans
*The article itself is unrelated*, however, if you see the Droid X picture in the Ad at the bottom of the article, the in call screen has twitter update of the person. As far as i can tell, the in-call screen seems to be otherwise essentially AOSP call screen. IS this a customisation that Droid X people get, can i do this on my HTC Hero (Rooted with Froyo)?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've dug through the documentation but couldn't find a call that would fit: Is there a way to find out the screen status (Active/dark)?I've got an app that implements the relevant data processing and backend server connectivity through a Service that I keep running on a reduced activity level when the user puts the device to sleep (using end button), or when the screen timeout hits. In the app code, I can follow this status change, because it triggers calls to overloaded onStop() and onPause() methods of the app's subclassed Activity. This way, I control active/reduced ("sleep") activity levels of that Service. Everything's cool and dandy in this scenario.Enter an AppWidget that's using this Service in a similar fashion, with functionality implemented in a subclass of AppWidgetProvider. This changes the game - I have found no way to determine when to set the Service to the reduced ("sleep") activity level from that point. The app's Activity has long paused, and I keep the Service at active level, as the widget needs updates from the Service similar to what the Activity needs when in front. With the AppWidget on the home screen, I want, and should (re: battery life), drop the Service's activity level when the device enters sleep mode. The most elegant way to handle this would be to detect whether the screen is dark, right inside the Service.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI read somewhere in the Android documentation that (paraphrasing here): 'if you do make your own View take up the whole screen, it is then possible/even-advisable, to insert and manage the 'status-bar' within your View'. How do you do that? - i.e. insert the status-bar within ones own 'full- screen' View?
