I want to disable the lockscreen.
There are several apps that do this but they all have a side-effect:
When they run pressing the volume-buttons will turn on the screen and i dont want that.
I know that CM-Roms have this feature built in but they have terrible battery-life.
Im using a Xperia Active with Spartan ROM (based on stock rom).

there is a way to more selectively manage probing requests in android. I am always forgetting to turn off my wifi when I leave the office/home and don't really like the idea of my phone broadcasting so much info about me in the requests (esp when i don't need wifi). I have been looking for settings but didn't find one and was thinking about an app perhaps that maybe can turn wifi off based on location (though i guess that would need gps which would be another issue?). I would settle for something that turns off wifi once it is out of range of a certain point (like home or work) for a certain period of time, then i could just turn it on manually when I am say at a cofee shop or whatever (and maybe it could turn off again when that point gets out of range).

Right now I'm using the Pattern Lock for my Note 2. Using Elixer2's single widget set to enable/disable the pattern lockscreen, it seems to randomly work. I've made sure to allow admin rights to Elixer2.
I'd like to be able to lock the screen when at work, and not have it enabled when at home.
The Elixer widget is very random. Sometimes it'll work, sometimes it'll work after a delay, after I try to open some apps, etc.
I recently bought my first smart phone (Sony Xperia Active Android 2.3)
Since yesterday my time does not synchronize after a reboot. I rebooted a couple of times and also tried a different Apps which query and sync my clock. But they all come up with the same problem "server timeout", "perhaps there are network problems" "network not available" and I'm sure i have wifi working at the time. I also tried different NTP servers, IP adresses instead of DNS names and i've checked my home router (problem occurs at work as well).
is it possible to change the lock screen on sony xperia neo v?

I read about the object ContentProvier and it have to provide the data for other apps. So if the app stores the data in this object other apps can get the information from WhatsApp. Can edit WhatsApp for this feature or do you have to edit the lockscreen app from MIUI too?

Under Location & Security settings, "set up screen lock", I select the option for "none" but it doesn't disable the slider.
I would like the phone to go to the homescreen immediately after pressing the power button.

currently I'm using cubed but i dont like it. people swear by it but im not following. its seems a bit clunky, it scrolls terribly, and i dont like the lockscreen controls.
for my question. i can deal with a music player like cubed BUT I'm looking for a music player with lockscreen controls that doesn't disable the timer/alarm notices. the lockscreen controls with cubed is $#!t. you press "unlock" even by accident and it unlocks (dont like that). and it doesn't even show you the time, so i have to completely unlock the phone and lock it again just to view the time. AND i cant see when my next alarm is going to go off. really inconvenient.
Does anyone know of a music player that has lockscreen controls that does not disable the clock/alarm notices when you wake up the phone before you unlock it?
I notice in my mini pro that when I disabled my data traffic for more than two hours, and turn it on again, there's a problem. After turning on, the 3G won't go active. It stay offline. Once, I had to disable the traffic and turn it on again for the 3G to activate. But last time, I need to reboot my phone so that the 3G could be accessed.

Now, I think I used ALL utilities there are to keep that damn unlock slide from appearing every time I turn my phone on. "No lock", and all that stuff, a lot. But all of those apps fail from time to time which makes me mad. Why the unlock exists at all?! A stupid invention of apple. WM didn't have it and was just fine.
Anyway. Is there a way to kill that unlock once and forever?! I guess editing some file with Root Explorer might work (did so already to prevent my Arc from waking up by "home" button - just edited some "keyboard.txt" file in text editor). Something like that, a real hack, not an app again, I guess those apps get kiled sometimes by system, no matter what... so they fail accidentally.
If you set an alarm and later kill the app for some reason alarm symbol that appears in the top right corner stays active but the alarm will not ring. Caught me out this morning as I thought alarm was set.

And sometimes when i connect my phone to the computer , it shows up but when i try to view my folders it remains like that (added a picture of it)

Our phone ( Samsung Galaxy Duos ) had an app installed for hypnosis and it was a relaxation type spiel. After hearing it decided it was rubbish and uninstalled it. Thought it was gone until I got a call or text and it starts to play automatically, it goes for 20 minutes. Once you hit a button or drop notification screen down it stops until the next incoming call or text. I cant see it anywhere on any app lists or on the sd card on the phone etc.

Why is the Widget wrong? It worked when I first put it there.
When an call is active, the status bar gets green if you don't have the call application open. Is it possible to use NinjaMorph to change this with a .gif or something so it's blinking red?

Didn't work because every time I entered my password and hit the login button it'd just empty the password field. After a while I tried disabling the 2-step verification and suddenly everything worked. Now I reactivated the 2-step verification and both my S III and U8160 report a login problem and require me to login again (which I assume is normal). The problem is that this puts me right where I started. Happened with the Stock ROM and this ROM. Didn't try any other.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to enable the active scanning mode on my HTC Desire but still got no luck. I've forced Android and wpa supplicant to go in to active mode. I've retraced this and the forcing works but when wpa supplicant tries to set the driver in active mode it always got set in passive mode and I can't force it in to active mode.
Any way to force an android device to scan active for wifi networks? It doesn't mind if It's on another device. I'm desperate to get it to work.
And I know it's not power efficient but that's not the goal. The only goal is to scan as fast as possible. Scanning in active mode should make this possible.
So, my ROM comes preloaded with a root app that I've never heard of, and I want to use Superuser (and the Elite I paid for).
The bundled app came with a 'cleanup/uninstall' script, that I ran, that promised to remove itself and it's root-granting abilities.
Now, even though I've got Superuser (Elite) installed, apps are saying I don't have root.
How do I configure Android (or SU) to use SU as my root-granting application?
Any way for keeping LAN via WIFI and Mobile data active simultaneously ?
I ask this because I need to use both networks at the same time, my 3G for internet and wifi for my local network, i need to connect my phone to check a PC via VNC, but the internet where the PC is connected is very slow, so I want to connect my phone. But when i connect my phone to the wifi all the data tries to flow for the wifi which is slower than 3G (in this case).

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my plug stopped working, ive only had my galaxy s4 active is only 2 weeks old. it only charges when plugged into my laptop or xbox, but when i plug it in the manufactured plug and usb cord the phone will not charge while on. when off, the phone just vibrates every 3 seconds. and will not charge.
it used to charge on the plug when i would have it already plugged into my computer for a little bit. but now it doest work anymore..
